  1. I think you're right. A lot of online stores seem to be using the original box art. Maybe Wyrd had to have the boxes reprinted? They seem to have had some real bad luck sourcing card and deck printing lately. Maybe the Swinecursed box got dorked up too?
  2. They're now under the upcoming releases for May! ....?...! So I suppose I'll stop holding my breath.
  3. The Wyrd staff didn't know why they've been delayed? That sounds really peculiar. I asked the same question on here at the end of February and the word then was that they were pushed back to release in March......which has obviously come and gone. It'd be real nice to here something. Models didn't pass quality control? Change to which of the original three would make it into the box of two? Last minute changes to the cards after some play testing?

    Zipp's ship

I thought the exact same thing when I saw their new airships! http://www.belloflostsouls.net/2017/03/aos-new-gw-kharadron-overlord-mini-pics.html But at the prices they are likely to sell for......NOPE! Ibet it would be a fun project to kit-bash a scale model of a sail boat and a WWII era battle ship; steam punk it a little and have a super cool terrain piece or display board.
  5. Parasitic creatures that modify their hosts behavior through modified gene expression, viral DNA or....just magic I guess in this case. Could end up with an interesting obey effect?
  6. Anybody know if they are out in the wild and just not up in online stores? Or did they not make the February release timeframe? Looks like the other February releases are "available" at some sources. Just not these guys.
  7. Zipp: Zapp Brannigan from Futurama? It follows then that... The First Mate: LT Kif Kroker, 1st Mate to Zapp Brannigan.....might also explain his ability "Menacing Croak", Kif KROKER was NOT menacing in the slightest. But that is likely a stretch. Titania: Might be a reference to Shakespeare's fae character of the same name. Could the Autumn Knights be references to more Shakespeare plays? Each seems themed around a season. Would need to re-read things like A Midsummer Night's Dream and Twelfth Night to see if there's any connection. Maybe somebody who has a better memory could chime in on this one?
  8. Great discussion guys. Thanks for the answers! Although I'm disappointed that I can't just plop an opponents master on top of a building, that seems to be how the rules would direct play and also provide a little more balance. Thanks again!
  9. All the mash liquor has led to rampant alcoholism...tragically...amongst the gremlins. One of the symptoms of long term alcohol abuse among the green people is edema, mostly in the face...which creates a convenient "nose like" enlargement between the oral cavity and eyes. Tragedy really, but it allows some of them to adorn themselves with spectracles.
  10. Zipp's 'Up We Go!' attack action reads: Place the target anywhere within 5" of its current position, not in terrain. My understanding of the word 'place' is that you ignore intervening terrain and models. Is this correct? More importantly, can this attack be used to 'place' the target model on top of a building or is that considered 'in terrain'? Is the 5" range of this effect measured strictly from a bird's eye view or would any change in height be included in the 5" range? In my imagination, Zipp is just grabbing somebody, jetting up into the sky and either dropping the poor sap or speeding back to the ground to suplex them into the dirt. But I'm not sure if that accurately depicts how the action functions within the context of the rules. In any event, my goal would be to dump the target on top of a building, or a stash marker, or some other piece of terrain and then force them to sit there or take falling damage to get back into the fight.
  11. Thanks for looking: I have The Dreamer crew box, assembled, unbased and unpainted. The winged Daydream is missing his wings, lost during assembly, and there's a miliput fill in the elbow of one of the Alps. Pictures available if you'd like more info. Asking $30 check/MO, sorry don't have PayPal. Willing to consider some gremlins in trade. Would prefer to keep this inside North America to reduce shipping costs. Feel free to PM other offers! Thanks again for looking.
  12. I can't take credit for the original idea for this scheme on The Sow. I think I saw a similar scheme on this forum somewhere and was immediately inspired to try it out. I'm pretty pleased with the results, still re-learning to paint after several years away from the hobby. But this forum and other sites have been great learning tools. Anyway...so I'm painting for tabletop use here and not looking to win any competitions. So dry brushing has been my "go to" technique for painting the fur on models like this. Does anybody have any different experience or techniques for fur? I try to do 1 - 2 models a week, so "speed" is sort of important...though I guess painting speed is super relative.
  13. Sounds like good advice. As much as I want to have all of the plastic in the world.....just doesn't make sense if I can't run 1 faction really well yet. @codingCaptor Thanks for adding that bit about Som'er, I hadn't looked at his card as much as I should have. I was wrongly viewing him as sort of like Ulix except more focused on Bayou Gremlins rather than pigs. So after considering what people had to say I think this is my tentative plan: 1) Swine-Cursed (because more pigs) and Burt (maybe also McTavish) in the next purchase. Sounds like the latter 2 are good choices to lay the groundwork for further expansion. 2) Wong, thematically I think I like how he sounds and if I add Burt he becomes a little stronger. His mechanics appear very different from Ulix and I like the idea of gaining a new view on things. After that it's a toss up between Som'er, Brewmaster and Zoraida. Som'er is a stronger choice than I'd initially considered. Thematically he doesn't interest me all that much for some reason, but more research is required. Brewmaster has a pretty bad rap on the forum for learning curve and strength, but I really REALLY want to try him just to undertake the challenge. Lastly, Zoraida is one I've been wanting to try for a long time now, but I know myself enough that if I wind up with her then I'll probably burn a hole in my pocket filling out a second faction. Zipp, Mah and Ophelia are at the bottom of my list for the time being.
  14. Cool, thanks a lot! After the Swine-Cursed come out I'll probably pick up Burt and/or McTavish, don't have either of them yet. Sounds like one or both of them would be good additions to my next master. I completely forgot to mention Ma Tucket in my original post. I'll give her another look, but I think I'll wait and see on her. I should have added that my local meta sees a lot of Neverborn, Ten Thunders and Arcanists. I don't *think* there are any other active Gremlin players in my playgroup. Not sure if that changes the picks at all, but Wong and Zoraida are officially on the short list after your comments. I like the notion of Zoraida opening up another faction, although I think Resurrectionists appeal to me more than Neverborn....so maybe the nurses (via the McMourning crew box) would be an economical addition to a Zoraida purchase then. Thanks again.
  15. I currently play Ulix and am just starting to get a sense of how to play with a plan rather than just flailing around randomly with pigs. So I'm not dead set on interrupting my learning, but I've been contemplating what master I might try next. Because I still feel like a complete noob, I think I'm still finding my feet with my particular playstyle soooo I think the basis for my choice is initially going to be based on synergies with models I already own. And since I pay Ulix....no surprise....I have a case full of plastic bacon. I think I own: every flavor of pig slop haulers hog whisperer Lucky Emissary Sammy LaCroix taxidermists My impression is that Wong has some decent synergy with pigs and Zoraida may as well. Brewmaster sort of interests me, but I think that's a poor choice. As for Ophelia and Som'er I'm just not all that interested at the moment. But...I'm taking all advice I can get. So, if my goal is to maximize use of models I already have, am I sane to be considering Wong and Zoraida as my next expansion?

    Ulix Help

Woah.....that is.....just....I'm speechless. As a new player it seems so complex yet so obvious b/c you don't need to start with a pig to get "Call forth the pork" off. Now that I've finally gotten my war pig painted, I feel compelled to try this out just as a thought experiment and to see the mechanics work. Second war pig would be a war rabbit though. Thanks for posting!

    Ulix Help

Another new Ulix player here. Really appreciate the run down there. To the OP the Schemes and Stones podcast has a Ulix specific episode that I found useful. Little sad to here Gracie may not have much utility in my Ulix summoning crews, but I'm still gonna give her a few games and judge against my playatyle. Through a weird twist of events she ended up being a scheme runner in my first game with her this weekend. Didn't position her correctly for intended purpose so just paired her with Penelope for extra movement.
  18. Didn't the Brewmaster come from somewhere other than "The Bayou"? Might there be other Gremlin's from his neck of the woods/mountains? Ninja assassin Gremlins? Able to move around similar to Seamus maybe? Digging the Hills Have Eyes ideas, I think the previously mentioned Taxidermist Gremlin would fit into a family of degenerate freaks pretty well.
  19. I've played the mechanical porkchop a few times (but only actually played Malifaux a few times...really). The first time he was shot to death on turn 1 (taught me to use cover), the second time he was murdered by one of Titania's minions. As you noted it seems pretty fragile and I haven't been real successful at getting it shell out a bunch of damage. I'd be real interested to hear what folks have to say about the porkchop. I'm wandering if it's high defense, armor and ability to dish out burning might make him pseudo-useful as a terrain holder for things like guard the cache? Seems like a waste of points though.
  20. I suppose so. Not sure what the going rate for Guilders might be on such a trade? Willing to make an offer?
  21. I got an alternate card for Sonnia in my Black Friday order...thanks Wyrd for sending us random goodies! Unfortunately I'm not the least bit interested in the Guild right now. I play Ulix right now and might expand to other gremlins in the future. So ideally I'd like to straight up trade this card for the equivalent Ulix card, but will consider other Gremlin cards as well. Thanks for looking!
  22. Awesome! Thanks for the info. Really looking forward to getting out there. Is there anybody in particular i should try to get in touch with over there to set up a quick intro game for my brother?
  23. I'm hoping that Wyrd being based in Marietta means there's a strong player base in the Atl area. I'll be back in the Atlanta area during winter break. I've convinced my brother to give Malifaux a shot and was hoping to get him an intro game from somebody who knows what they're doing...since I've only got like 3 games under my belt. Saw a post online somewhere that suggested a group regularly gathered at a place called gigabyte. Is this still accurate? I can't find any further info. Thanks for the help. Really hoping to get in a game or two myself while I'm back on the Beast Coast.
