  1. I would say no, it counts not as cover. The picture in the rulebook clarifies IMO that the 1,0" should be lying directly in the LOS.
  2. I'm a relatively new player to Malifaux, coming from 40K. I'm more a painter and handicrafter than a gamer. What I liked from the very beginning: Very easy to start a faction. You only need a crewbox and some additional boxes. Very easy to go as deep as you want: In a game you chose your faction, and later in game your master and crew. So it's rewarding to have a bigger chioce of models. So you can easy start with a small crew, but expand with all the models you like to have a bigger pool to chose from. BUT you will not use them all in a single game. Easy to pick a new faction: see above. Wyrd talks and listens to their customers. IMO easy to start for casual gamers. Differences to 40K: You don't have squads. Malifaux is a skirmish game. Most of the boxes you buy once. Downside to 40K: I'm missing the handicraft, or more to say the scratchbuilding. Building the miniatures is more tricky, but I think it's not that easy to do comversions like changing bits on a SM Tactical. (IMO that's with the new kits from GW going down the same road). But there are some very, very good conversions, but you need more skill to do so.

    Desert board

First impressions from my very first game of Malifaux on Saturday! The desert looks not as much yellow as on the pictures but the cottages look quite ok. Actionshot! Not quite a good place for Philipp...
  4. Thanks! And nice to read we did everything right.
  5. I have two questions coming up from my first game: 1. If a model with manipulative (not activated yet) is targeted with a charge. Do you have to make a Wp duel to perform the carge move, or can you move anyway and have to make for each of the attacks a Wp duel? Same question for actions wich generate two or more attacks. 2. If you lose a Wp duel near Sorrows, you lose 1 Wd for each of them. Do they count as seperate Wounds, so a model with hard to kill cannot prfit from its ability: so a punk zombie with 3 Wd remaining losing a Wp duel near 3 Sorrows dies?
  6. Great choice of haircolor on Perdita!
  7. Knees, elbows and eye make-up are superb! Especially the left knee I felt in love - great color in the shadows and nice highlights. The leather golves are really beautiful too (like the rest of the model of course!)
  8. If you start with resurrectionists you'll need more additional models 'cause you need some models to be summoned too.
  9. These are some special rules in the divergent path games.
  10. I just dropped my Weißwurst into my Maßbier and spoiled my Sauerkraut over my Lederhose as I heard you changed from "I flipped" to "Baby Kade flipped"! Thanks guys that makes it a lot more easy to follow. I need a Schnitzel - and where's my Schnaps?
  11. Thanks for sharing the WIPs. I had never thoght it was totally fron scratch. Looks great!
  12. I think the flames could have more wihite in the deeper parts to make them look more translucent. I like all the paintings an the crew. But the improved leather shows your progress. I like that the most!
  13. Great choice of colors! I very much like her glance and the collarbone.
  14. That's it. You are not allowed to move/pace voluntarily beyond the table edges. But when a unit falls back it is removed from play, when a model moves beyond the table edge. This would be the end of the world. No one will willingly move beyond it, but you can be "pushed" above it. So I wondered if a Malifaux push would be similar to a 40K fall back.
  15. Coming from 40K I always imagined the world/board as a disc where you can fall of the edges, not as a box. But I can easily change my point of view. Such a "kafkaesque" box-world fits well in the Malifaux setting. I think that's a sufficient explanation. Least for me. Thanks for your answers.
  16. I couldn't find anything how the rim of the board is treated. I guess its obvious you can move your models only to the edge of the board. But what happens if a push pushed a model across the edge? Does it stop or does it dissapear?

    Desert board

Drybrushed some layers on the cottages. They're a little greyish, but it fits well with the desert theme. The last highlight is still missing. And the detail of course. I'm not quite sure about the roofs. Until now I wanted paint them bright because zenital light. But perhaps they should be darker due to viewing habits...?
  18. Just listened to your podcast and like it much. I'm not a native english speaker (listener!). But I had no problem following you guys! I like how the three of you obviously have fun but still get on topic very much. In the brawl I would suggest to say "Teddy has a seven" instead of "I have a seven". This would make a lot more easy to follow. And I found it not always clear was it the card or the total you were talking about. I would prefer a "Teddy got 4 makes it a 7" instead of "I have a seven" or "I have a 4".
  19. Now as I see it on the board I have a (very late I agree) suggestion: if you're building dioramas you avoid right angels between the diorama and the frame. So your board might look a lot more interesting (than it does already), if you rotate the inside of your board just a little bit. But I like it already anyway.
  20. OK, so it'll be the RN. I will get the Drowned anyway, even if its just for summoning them for dying - I like the models and as zombies they are quick to paint too. Thanks again!
  21. Have you ecer tried a proper photo background? This and a photobox can help a lot. Even with a mediocre camera or mobile.
  22. Thanks a lot for all your helpful comments! Already owning the Red Chapel box, I think the next minis to buy will be: Dead Doxies, Drowned an Rouge Necromancy.
  23. Thanks for your comment. I think its a bit of both: painting and picture. The face definately looks better than shown on the picture. But with the arm in front of it, it wasn't easy to paint. Coming from GW I still struggle a bit with the fine detail and small faces of Malifaux miniatures too.
  24. Great colors! The face of the gremlin is amazing and the details unbelievable (teeth an eyes)!
