  1. I think I've found a suitable replacement model (a winged Deamoness that with a few well placed placed chains will easily pass as an Enslaved Nephilim), so that's sorted that. Cheers for all the input and advice.
  2. Thanks for replying Trikk, I was afraid that would be the answer TBH. Haven't had any luck finding a metal one but I shall find something that can suitably represent it.
  3. Reason I ask this is, I constructed it, left it to set on the coffee table and now it's been crunched up by my pet dog. I'm hoping it's not integral to getting the most out of a Perdita crew and I wont need to hunt around for another one.
  4. Obviously being a complete noob at the game, when I was constructing my 50ss list they seemed an obvious choice seeing as I had the 3 Stalkers already. As I've started getting (slightly) better you do start to see how useful/flawed some models can be and especially compared in there points cost. But the characterful side usually sways me so i'll more than likely keep persevering with her. (Would I like to lose an Austringer to get her in however, well, that's a different story. Let's not go overboard shall we!)
  5. Hi, Had a game last night against Marcus. Standard Set Up - Turf War - Murder Protégé, A Line In The Sand, Assassinate, Distract, Cursed Object I took Murder Protégé & Line In The Sand Sonnia Criid (plus an additional 4ss) + Cherufe's Imprint + Reincarnation 2 x Austringer 3 x Witchling Stalkers 1 x Witchling Handler Samael Hopkins After 2 turns my opponent was 1-0 up due to Turf War, after Turn 3 it was 2-0 to him, once again due to Turf War. On Turn 4 it was 5-4 to the Arcanists after Sonnia died (don't laugh, a Jackalope finished her off). I had revealed Murder Protégé at the start of the game so earned 3pts by killing Sabertooth Cerberus and gained 1 for Turf War. Turn 5 ended with 1 point for the Guild from Turf War with my opponents crew left with just Cojo beating his chest. Both of us are very inexperienced players but the game was an absolute blast which no one deserved to lose so a 5-5 draw seemed apt. On a side note, totally got distracted by other things and didn't set down a single Scheme marker (the wife has always moaned about my inability to multi-task).
  6. I've been playing one in my Sonnia list which includes 3 Stalkers, and have to say that the main use I have had is with the Goad Witchling ability, even a +1 WK helps a load tbh. I've used her a couple of times to finish enemy models off but due to not having played the game that long I feel that I'm not using her to her maximum, especially considering the models cost.
  7. I've just played a 3-way game against Jacob Lynch and Som'er Teeth and if I'm honest an Executioner or 2 would have been fun to charge around the tabletop scaring my opponents witless, may have to indulge in a box (besides, I'm fed up of this Hungering Darkness thing ruining my day).
  8. Now I begin to see why they are so popular. Thanks for confirming Dogmantra, much appreciated.
  9. Well it looks like I've been playing Focus completely wrong anyway. From my understanding I get a to Attack and Damage flips when Focused, coupled with an 18" threat range from my Raptor attack. So if I win the duel by 2 for example which would be a flip, the Focus +1 would turn this into a straight flip, am I reading this right? Apologies for the complete noob question (to many pretty pictures to look at and fluff to read), this would suddenly explain why Austringers are held in such high esteem (and possibly a cause for friend loss)
  10. Well that all ended in horrendous failure if I'm honest. Quick run down of Strategy and Schemes (my VP's are the first number, my opponent's are the ones in brackets) Strategy - Reckoning 1 (2) Schemes - Plant Evidence 3 (3) Breakthrough 2 (3) So a final score of 6 - 8 and after 5 turns I was left with just Sonnia on the tabletop, ouch! I could moan about poor cards, luck etc but to be truthful I wasn't really at the races. Never got my Burning game going, was far to aggressive first turn which ultimately led to me being on the back foot from Turn 2 onwards. I tried going toe to toe with a lot of the Jacob Lynch crew (the Illuminated get a charge 8 and a 2" Melee range, that caught me out for my opponents 2nd Reckoning point I can tell you). A real 'must try and concentrate harder' stamped on my report card if I'm honest. I do have 1 question for you guys, Austringers, at 6pts and for what they do, they're awesome. But, I'm taking 2 and mostly they just sit at the back pinging off Raptor attacks with Focus. Am I under-utilising them?
  11. No worries, my games usually have some highpoints and some especially low ones, I will try and remember a few of them.
  12. I've dropped the upgrade on Hopkins and the Purifying Flame totem for next game, allows me to take a 3rd Stalker. Gives me a list of: Sonnia Hopkins 2 x Austringers 3 x Stalkers & one Handler Cherufe's Imprint, Reincarnation & 7SS. What my opponent brings is anyone's guess but he alluded to the fact that he is enjoying his Jacob Lynch crew so I'm expecting Round 2 of this match-up.
  13. I think his cost is what makes me far too cautious with him if I'm honest, at 11pts I'm loathe to throw him away with a badly thought out and executed turn. After having only played just 6 games to date I really need to throw caution to the wind and see what he can and cant do and the type of punishment he can take, Wednesday is my next game so i'll keep you all updated (sorry, I seem to have hijacked the original post slightly).
  14. To be honest I'd be a happy with a 'I guess he's ok' game at the moment
  15. At present I'm still trying to get more out of certain models in games, especially Hopkins. I take the 'Burn Them Out' upgrade with him yet feel he hasn't really had that 'Wow! He's amazing!' game so far (this I suspect is down to my conservative use of him thus far, when from what I can gather he has really got to be getting into the thick of things and killing stuff). As for my next purchase, I'm trying to hold back from the Ortega box set at the moment (even though it seems Francisco is a good model to include in Sonnia crews) and am looking at some Executioner's purely to have some large, stompy, intimidating models on the board (as you can see, a lot of tactical thought goes into my choices).
  16. Many combinations will be out of my hands at the moment anyway as the only models I possess currently are the Sonnia box set, 2 Austringer's and 2 Witchling Handler's. Plus I hate to proxy models so I guess it's a case of 'all in good time'
  17. I'm very new to the game at the moment as well, and play a Sonnia crew each time (figured if I stuck to one master it would help me get a grip of the rules quicker). My opponent however has about 8-10 different masters and, I have to say, I've only played against a Teddy once and it totally dominated one side of the board. However, this may have something to do with me running pieces around the board (without any notion or form of a plan) and trying to set all enemy model's on fire. I'm finally starting to get a little better at competing and actually won the other week (vs Ironsides), but interestingly the two match-up's when I've felt totally up against it have been against Jakob Lynch and The Dreamer. The thread has had some interesting pointers.
