  1. That's Gather Intel, but the only thing you're missing about it is Terracotta Warriors exist and can copy it at stat 4. Being able to hand out effectively a walk + attack (important for Kabukis that it isn't a charge) or a walk + scheme marker is a very strong action, and combined with the activation control of the crew (Youko alone starts 2 activations ahead with those Pass Tokens) will probably win games all on its own. On Kabukis the enemy will be at to the Wp duel as well, and on Geisha (who are very squishy, so be careful) they are getting hit with a Wp targeting Slow in a Distraction aura.
  2. Her crew also doesn't give out all that much distracted itself. I think treating the Distracted as mostly secondary and focusing on Gather Intel is probably the way to go. Maybe doing the Ama No Zako double Hidden Ledger for Black Stain is the way to go, just for the tilt factor for people who worry about that sort of deck manipulation. Just think, you could get rid of 10 severes by turn 5 if you get lucky and do it twice per turn!
  3. Looks very cool. My only suggestion would be that you should find a way to fit Aura of Deception in there: Also, I think that "Consumed by Lie" is too weak for a Sin token aura. It should probably just discard a token and then do damage, no need to remove the condition IMO.
  4. I don't know if it counts as Colette placing the marker actually, I think it's her obeying a marker to take an action. I may be wrong.
  5. I already posted it in the Discord, but Cassandra's Upstage uses her own actions and card abilities when copying Routine Performance. Which means an Interact will apply Distracted within 6 from the targeted marker. She also cannot use the Doves as Decoys.
  6. That has indeed been my experience with them, but some people swear by them. I think some metas must be very scheme marker focused, and given the upcoming alt-titles the game in general will probably have a lot more scheme markers in it, but I just feel like Arson is too niche to build a model around it unless you cheat like with Undercover Reporters. In my experience planning to deny enemy vp with Arson is very unreliable. Most models can trivially block LoS to a marker by placing it under them if it's going to be removed at the end of the turn for the scheme. That's if your opponent even chose a marker scheme, and most of the best schemes don't involve scheme markers.
  7. Competitively? A Silent One would be my choice. Thematically? Firebranded are the only eligible target I think. The only other living minion I think would be hired into Kaeris would be a Saboteur, but I don't like them very much personally.
  8. I mean, they've got a model to block the removal for both versions as it is. Making one of the versions not rely on hiring that specific enforcer into every crew (hyperbole, I know) would be a good thing IMO, it doesn't have to be either or.
  9. Looking at McMourning 2, I really really wish the new Mei had managed to fit his "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle" onto her card somehow (probably changing some of her abilities for balance like swapping "Iron Plating" for Armour for example). That kind of ability would make her crew play differently and would give her as a master some resistance to marker removal rather than foisting the responsibility off onto another model that almost becomes required. Oh well, maybe next time. The ability for reference:
  10. So has anyone mentioned the Stat 10 Yan Lo combo yet?
  11. Pretty sure they mean during the game. If they're playing McM2 that attack based then they aren't summoning one every turn. Still very efficient.
  12. Well lucky for Obliteration they just got a great new model that draws 2 cards a turn from their discard pile that are ideal for TNs (they're 7 or less.)
  13. Note that you can choose McCabe as the Wastrel to give an upgrade to within 5 with Treasure Hunter to get to Shielded +2 at the end of activation, which is a total of Shielded +3 if you start near a marker.
  14. Kind of weird he doesn't get "Adventure Awaits!", I'd always thought that was a patch ability to fix some of the TN hungry nature of the keyword. It's going to be annoying to Errata any of the Wastrels through TNs now as you're changing two different target numbers effectively.
  15. She also gets a second activation, meaning without your own extra activation or pass token generation she does always go last.
  16. I'd say Misaki would be a good choice of Summoner if they went that direction. Her minions aren't super good, especially the more expensive ones, so it wouldn't be a big problem I'd say. You rarely see Katanaka Crime Bosses, Wokou Raiders, or Thunder Archers hired and Torakage lose a lot of usefulness by being summoned. I'd compare her potential pool to Dashel's, but significantly less powerful. She has a potential summon mechanic relating to Shadow Markers; target and remove one to summon for example, or create one I guess. Maybe a Bury Summoner whose models unbury on Shadow Markers?
  17. Kaeris (old Kaeris) also has the Burn It All trigger on her gun.
  18. Do we think she maybe got corrupted through Shang? He is very burny after all...

    Alpha Marcus

Mv8 with Feathered Wings, and Initiates/Myranda can make them walk. Adaptive Evolution + Predatory Instinct means you can either be at to hit or at to hit with to damage. Give them Natural Camouflage and they'll be able to go scheme uninterrupted most likely. The main problem here is that the new Marcus has even less upgrades to spare than the old Marcus. Unless they're planning on widely buffing the lacklustre beasts I'd say this title is strong on its own but fails to fix the problems in Chimera. I want to have a reason to buy Molemen. I've been holding out for two editions now and it's only getting easier as time goes on. Razorspines and Slate Ridge Maulers could use a boost as well.
  20. Would have preferred it say Create within 2" then, given all placed objects already require LoS. I guess the way they did it means you can't even place the marker at all under your base, as auras are drawn from the edge of your base. Auras aren't even meant to be used for one off effects like this, so why is this an aura? Shouldn't it be a pulse or just have a line about completely in LoS and Range if that distinction is significant? I don't know, just looks off/inconsistent to me.
  21. Balance erratum for physical games and tabletop wargames are quite normal, and having rules actually change is a part of that. Being told that the most rules lawyerest interpretation of a model's text (that changing a model to be the target doesn't make it targeted) is actually correct and what the designers intended (which is an implication of an FAQ) leaves a very different impression, potentially on Wyrd/Malifaux as a whole. An Errata of the general rules that makes models abilities work in an intuitive way would be better, such as making effects that change targeting go off before any others that trigger in the Targeting step. I'm not saying I think Gwisin should have Take the Hit & Vengeance +2 work from a balance perspective, although most of that is because of their high wounds which is kind of a separate issue specific to this model, but having those two abilities right next to each other on their card is very suggestive to those who read it. It's clearly confusing, as evidenced by the widespread confusion in the Malifaux community between those who remembered that FAQ and thought it blocked the interaction, those who remembered it and disagreed, and everyone who didn't remember it and intuitively thought these abilities worked together. Moving on from Gwisin, does anyone have any idea why Enslaved Spirits Demise is "After this model is killed, it may Drop a Scheme Marker completely within 3."? Why is it not just within 2" like (almost) every other ability other than Flight? Is there some scheme implication that I'm missing, because as far as I can tell all it changes is about 0.2" of max distance which hardly seems worth it in my eyes.
  22. It just so plainly flies in the face of the actual non-game english meaning of the words that it bothers me. It also makes zero sense that something isn't Terrifying just because your target was switched to it, same with Combat Finesse. Technically it means that you can declare resistance triggers on a Disengage attack if you hand it to a model with one, as you can only not declare it against Disengage actions that targeted you.
  23. I think technically by the (most common interpretation of, which I dislike because it makes no sense outside of rebalancing models) FAQ whenever you change the target of an action the new model is in no way at all targeted, it is merely the target of the action which is an entirely different thing. So by that interpretation even things that don't resolve during the targeting phase would be nixed, like Combat Finesse.
  24. Oh I forgot about that. Has that been clarified anywhere? The wording of it always struck me as intended to disallow double dipping on abilities but yours is the more commonly understood interpretation I think.
  25. Well... Take the hit on a versatile Vengeance +2 and Incorporeal model. My opponents will be displeased
