Apologies, I completely forgot it is only a four player event (not five like the ITC was). I am curious how much of an advantage it will give as yes they do choose 1 and 3 but the second team does get to put forward their two counters. I guess it is something for the organisers to keep an eye on for future events as this is the first of its format.

I am going to presume that it will be ran on Bag o'Tools as the majority of UK events are. In regards to the pairing system I think you are slightly confused. My reading is that Captain A puts forward their pick for table 1 while Captain B puts their two options to face their pick. Table 2 sees Captain B put their pick and Captain A puts their two for Captain A to choose from. So on and so forth. So A will pick 1 and 3 while B picks 2 and 4, 5 is what remains. Hope that helps.

@ScottishMetaLew quick clarification on proxies. Will they be allowed if the official models have only just been released? For example say an Explorers player has Tiri proxies and it is part of the April release would they be accepted as it would leave the player a short time window to acquire the models from release, build and paint them etc.? Hi and welcome to the Battle for the Breach, a two day, six round event over the weekend of August 26th and 27th and hosted at Element Games in Stockport. This event will be four and a half years in the making (after my last attempt of a two day event was cancelled due to covid) and the goal is for this event to be a staple in the UK Malifaux tournament calendar, providing an option for a weekend event that is accessible for the communities in the North West without too much travel while being accessible for people all over the country. The event itself will have 3 games on the first day, two on the second then awards and prizes. There will be a special trophy for the event winner and trophies for 2nd and 3rd as well as prizes for best painted, wooden spoon and most sporting player. There will also be medals for best in faction. Prizes are TBC but I will be reaching out to Wyrd and also the usual suspects who support within the UK. Numbers dependent will decide the level of swag and I do hope that attendance caters financially for me to offer the event exclusive things I have in mind. The event will be fully catered for both days and the cost is £40 for the event, as I am running 3 other events at Element Games this year I have created a tournament bundle for those wishing to attend all the events for £75 (a saving of £10 against buying individually), this will run until a short time before the first event. Payments can be made to my PayPal which is carl7lee@hotmail.com and please mark it as friends and family as well as putting this event in the notes. Element Games is an ideal venue within the UK for an event like this due to its good public transport links - it isn't for from Manchester Airport for any International visitors also within the UK Stockport is a short train journey from Manchester Piccadilly station. Stockport itself has a wide range of hotels including a Premier Inn across the road from Element Games (Premier Inn Stockport South). The Alma Lodge is another hotel a short walk away but if you have any questions about accommodation please do ask. As with most two day events I will plan on organising a social event on the Saturday evening. The initial cap on numbers is 32 but once that is hit there is the option to open capacity to 64.
