  3. Lelu w. his upgrade can damage himself to draw and discard card.
  4. Who's gonna be new lead rules designer of Malifaux?
  5. Lucius cannot hire Lazarus - please re-read 'Hate the Maker' ability of the latter.
  6. IMHO she's a way of taking Strum the Threads outside Collodi's Crew (i.e. in Dreamer's).
  7. Recently I had a good game vs. the best Neverborn player in my city (I'm average at best). We played Corner Deployment, Symbols of Authority. I chose my trusty Summoning Pandora vs. his Grown up Dreamer. I'm short of cheap models and scheme runners (My Insidious Madnesses are constantly killed by those models with min. 3 dmg Ca actions) and someone have to pick the Symbols, so I decided to test run a Coppelius with On the Dreaming Wings. I lost the game 5 to 6 pts, but Coppelius was surprisingly good. He killed an Alp and a Tot before the latter could remove any of my Symbols, Removed the last enemy's Symbol, and if I were a better player I would use him to summon an Alp thus denying opponent's Punish the Weak. I'm going to test Coppelius more, especially in this Strategy. Even my opponent was positively surprised by his performance, and usually he's allergic to subpar models.
  8. Ad. 89., Bone Pile, Ply for Information: can the second model be targeted with actions? To be more specific: can I interact with two-headed Bone Pile with Intel to gain Intel, because 'the second one' doesn't have the condition?
  9. Sonnia, but I play Dreamer and Pandora only. If I had Lilith she wouldn't be such a pain. She ignores all my defensive mechanics, guarantees a hit with her powerful attack no matter how high I cheat, and is immune to most of my attacks.
  10. Personally, I would prefer to see changes in her card instead of her cost. A few (probably) mutually excluding examples: - Raise both her attack actions to Ca value of 6 (the most straightforward way to boost her AP efficiency (IMHO that's her Achilles' Heel), making her less reliant of WP debuffers) - Remove symbol from her attack (so that she can safely shoot at models engaged with WP debuffers); - Raise her Goody Basket (Healing) action range to 4" (that would let her heal your own models while keeping them outside the range of her Fears Given Form). That being said, I still think she has a niche where she's playable. She's just not competetive.
  11. How many times you've used giving out insignificant and scheme marker thing successfully? Keep in mind that insignificant goes away after Pukeworm dies. And it dies SO easely. The only time I managed to use its attack with a great effect was when I copied it with a Doppelganger. Being a scheme marker is at best mediocre. We've got perfect scheme runners, in all colors and sizes. Scheme running is kinda our thing in this game. I would pick scheme runner buffing over a single marker (almost) all the time. Plus we've got models that drop markers with their attacks.
  12. I Don't. As a faction, we have some really hard match ups and Zipp is one of them. Maybe we should just make lemonade - take a full team of Changelings, copy him for That sweet sweet Ca 4 vs Ht and Murder his crew? He's insignificant - can't score that much points alone
  13. Short answer is: no. Every dual faction Ten Thunders Master works better in Ten Thunders faction. Some of them a little better, some much better.
  14. She can ignore cover, however, and has a plethora of pushes at her disposal to get that line of sight to other model. She's a shooting master least affected by blocking terrain IMHO.
  15. Only two checks Charge itself is a tactical action, and Manipulative protects against attack actions only.
  16. I don't -hate- Warmachine, I just heard a lot of bad things about it from friends who play it. Good to know things are getting better.
  17. @gribble Nice job, but you've mistaken Minako for Katashiro. We know Minako's art. She's a masked gal with bare shoulders and long, steel claws. Good point. I guess now they are a part of 10T family, otherwise...
  18. One of the characters from the box - Minako Rei - appeared in a 10T story from Broken Promises book. There's her art there, too. She's a part of the Order of the Balance, a secret society inside the Ten Thunders secret society (damn those Wyrd Asians are SO secretive ).
  19. I don't think that's a good idea to link clearly outdated strategy topics and recommend them to struggling players. A few reasons why it's outdated: - there's no such thing as 'Obscuring' terrain trait in M2E; - Mr Shine used Perdita as an example of Master struggling on boards with lots of blocking terrain; everyone who plays her or against her knows it's not true;
  20. No one was disrespectful to Hot Perdita. We just refuse to believe s/he being serious. Let's discuss the 'creeping complexity' issue. I don't think new GG schemes and their wording are a problem here - the document was designed as rules for tournaments, so it should be balanced first, simple second. One can still play schemes and strategies from Core book if he wants. Personally, I think it's a new models' rules that are a problem. Please do recall that first edition of our game was so complicated (and unbalanced, btw) it was hardly playable. The second installment tried to fix that, with significant success. Of course, there were some very disappointed folks, who got sour about loosing theme (I heard that back in M1E, Lilith was a vampire) or game's identity and they quited, like you did with your Scorne and Warmahordes. I think now we have to cope with creeping complexity in new models' rules. Look at the 'damage reduction' departament: at first, we've got a nice, elegant Armor +X ability. There were also few attacks that could ignore the ability. Then we've got things that worked almost exactly like Armor +X, but they had different name, specifically designed to counter armor-ingoring skills. Finally, we've got attacks that ignore all armor reduction, including armor, armor-like abilities, and other, less powerful things that got hit by a rebound, like incorporeal. It's like devs started an arms race with themselves. What's next? Damage reduction skills that ignore 'ignore damage reduction' attacks? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the Terracotta Warrior has damage prevention ability - a term previously limited for soulstone ablility only.
  21. Am I the only one who think that Hot Perdita trolled this topic and right now s/he's munching popcorn, amused?
  22. True, it may be risky to cheat that lures. It's also risky to cheat against attacks with high Attack stat and high minimal damage (and that's the sort of attacks that would fall upon poor, four times lured fellow). Maybe that's a bad play of mine but I would cheat against at least some of that 6 attack actions to force the opponent to deplete his resources. Just giving up that 1 VP is not in my nature.
  23. Less popular Horror, Draugr: What would you experts say: does Pandora/Candy add up her Ht to damage or not? I guess people who think that 'this attack' from Centaur's card refers to K. Lance only would say 'this model's Ht' mean Draugr's Ht. In my opinion, Self Loathing just does the basic damage (either a set amount of damage or the damage track, and rest of text is treated as 'other effects' and thus - ignored. That does not help with Kentaurorothing (My guess it's just Aaron got sloppy with rules designing, especially that second damage track could be replaced with simple +2 dmg when charging), but it's simple and elegant solution in other cases. You trikked me! Don't do that!
  24. That's, like, 8 AP-worth of actions, assuming you win all 6 opposed duels (and the opponent doesn't use LOS-blocking terrain to his/her advantage). If one spend (at least) 4 activations of his/her models AND high cards to gain one VP, I think s/he deserves that one VP. Don't be frustrated just because there's a strong mechanic in the game you don't have access to (which you do ) and don't have a hard counter to it (which you do ). There's a lot of things that make me tremble each time I play against you or other Guild player. I don't claim sternly they're stupid - better players learned how to play against it, so given time I'll learn that, too (hopefully). Take some cheese with your whine and relax
