  1. The mafia feel certainly gets reinforced by Toni's role, almost as a mafia enforcer. She is let loose by Ramos to keep rogue arcanists in check, as seen in her confrontation with Raethford, and 'bully' adepts into 'membership' All for the greater good of the Arcanist/M&SU, but definitely with a Mafia "make them an offer they can't refuse" feel
  2. Loving the fact Toni now has a built in Tome for her GSMT trigger.
  3. I'm purely extrapolating here but their AdvancedPrototypes rule reads as if they get more Assets (and free) per unit than other Allegiances. And doing it in the scouting phase means you can suddenly alter a units strengths or cover a weakness after your opponent has already sized you up. That an it would appear that Assets can be used for damage reduction (from what I've seen in the Gameplay video) I'm getting a very space marine vibe. Fewer in number, more versatile and resilient

  5. It's the 40k Ork killer Kan look that puts me off. For the cav its the complete absence of tech in a advance tech army that throes me. As for the Mechanised Infantry with the 2 models per fire team I imagine it's purely a survivability thing as we now know it only takes 1 damage to take out a model

  8. Building from this, is Parker and gang a crew that would synergise with the Viks? I like the sounds of Parkers Scheme marker shennanigans and the cowboy thing. So as a 2 part question. Would Hired Swords, Fist full of Scrip, Vaness and potential some Convict Gunslingers work well as a hire pool, and would that be all a casual gamer need for Outcasts to cover most strat/schemes and have a little variation from Arcanist style of play?

  11. Hey 10T Brain Trust! I'm an Arcanist player how recently picked up a Rail Crew box 2nd hand, that came with 1.5ed cards. I've been told that the M2E cards are in the 10T Wave 1 Arsenal deck but this seems to now be out of print. Any advice on where else I find them? (apart from print on demand) Cheers
  12. I use a Hoarcat with Raspy for mobility, and quick, hard hitting a Minion. Also the above mentioned Devour synergy. Doubt I'd take more than 1 though

Hey All I'm a dedicated Arcanist player, but when I first started looking into Malifaux Viktoria caught my eye but at the time she sounded too complicated and like her required too much knowledge of the game, schemes and tactics for a newbie. So I shied away. Now with 4 Arcanist masters in hand, I feel myself drawn to the Viks once again (I blame a recent watching of sin city and Sucker Punch) but don't want to go to deep into Outcasts, just enough to get a decent Viks game in every now and then for something different. So apart from Hired Swords, should I look at Vanessa and maybe the Wokou Raiders? Thoughts and suggestions? I'm thinking crew + 2 small boxes. P.s Johan doesn't count as I will be getting him for my M&SU shennanigans P.p.s I also have Performers (who are Mercs) if you feel they work within this crew play style
  15. Them and some Silent Ones are high priority on my wishlist, with Ice Dancers not far behind (I started a conversion a year ago and never finished it)

My biggest hurdle is despite owning 4 masters, the last game I played was over 10 months ago and as a shifting loyalties game so I've never put Ramos, Mei or Toni on a table that existed outside my imagination and pullmyfinger.com Depending on the strats and schemes flipped I may dive in with a different master. December Acolytes will appear in any list due to their hand control function and being great scheme runners. I have to say though, I have learnt a lot about Raspy and Arcanist in general from this post though. So many thanks to all of you

  18. Hi all, Trying to get my hands on Mei Feng's M2E Crew Cards as I picked up a 1.5 ed Crew, and as an Arcanist have no need for a full 10T Arsenal Box Located in Aus. Happy to pay reasonable p+h if overseas

    I figure Corrupted Hounds might fit that role too. By the sounds of it, whilst the options for Marcus are plentiful, there are many beasts that don't fit in his crew, but we'd be more than happy to see across the table from us

    The Night Terrors would only realistically be there to fufill a role similar to the Malifaux Raptor; as a harrassment model for shooting crews. Shikome look like they'd do well in a Marcus crew that brings poison to the table, but without 2 of them to benefit from Adversary condition they'd be playing to half strength. With a long list of beasts it'd be very easy to get carried away with Marcus' hire pool, but by the looks of it most people keep it in faction with an exception for the Rogue Necromancy

    I've been looking at Marcus not only as a master, but as an excuse to go out of faction. A few beasts that have caught my attention are The Dawn Serpent, Night Terrors, Rogue Necromancy and Shikome. Any one had experience running these with Marcus, and on the flipside are there any beasts that just don't work for him? What's the most out there out of faction beast crew have you seen? A Marcus riff on Ulix springs to mind
  22. I always focus on strats and schemes, though have had more success in hench led games than 50ss. Also, who's this Luther I keep seeing mentioned?
  23. That said you need to be 6" from that engagement, which depending on the turn and what else is happening, usually means Raspy is too close to the action by this stage (to my limited knowledge - I've only played 4 games with her)
