“ONE SHOT AT GLORY” MALIFAUX TRIATHLON August 12, 2017 11:00AM The Dragons Hoard 199 Main Street Hackettstown, NJ 07840 Entry Fee: $10 USD ONE SHOT AT GLORY A model may only be used throughout the tournament by a player a number of instances equal to its rarity. For example, a “unique” model may only be used one (1) time, while a “Rare 3” model may be included in a crew up to three (3) times within the players crews. Three round multi-format tournament. - All players must declare a faction and all models played must be within faction. - All cards must reflect any errata published prior to June 1, 2017. - Proxies are allowed for models that are not available before August 1, 2017. Official cards must still be used. Round 1 ENFORCER BRAWL Players will be randomly divided into groups which will be assigned to a table in order to maintain quality game play. Each player will field one enforcer with up to one (1) legal upgrade. Players will draw numbers to determine deployment order, and then draw a card which will determine the quarter of the board in which they must deploy in. Players may deploy anywhere within their designated quarter but may not deploy in such a way which will cause their model to begin the game engaged with another model. Game play will consist of six (6) rounds. Points will be scored in the following ways: • 3 points for killing or sacrificing an opposing model • 1 point for putting at least one wound on an unwounded opposing model (This can stack with killing the model!) • 1 point for a turn in which you didn’t die • -3 points for your model being killed or sacrificed At the end of six (6) rounds, scoring will determine rankings for the next round. In the event that two or more players have scored the same amount of points during the round, ties will be broken through the soulstone value of the models. The soulstone value of the model will be determined by adding the soulstone cost of the model and the soulstone cost of any attached upgrade. Any ties will be awarded to the model having the lowest soulstone value. Round 2 Henchman Hardcore 20 Soulstone crews. All Crews must contain exactly 4 models, no more, no less. Upgrades may be purchased, as allowed by the standard rules of Malifaux. The size of a Crew’s Soulstone Pool is limited by the Cache of the Henchman leading it; any Soulstones above this amount are discarded. Any Actions, Abilities, or Triggers which summon models are considered to be “blank” (they may not be used and have no effect on the game, as if they were not printed on the model). Only one Scheme will be available. Round Time Limit: 1 hour time limit. Strategy and Scheme Selection (all rounds): • Deployment: Close. • Strategy: Hardcore Turf War. This Strategy uses the Turf War rules (Core Rulebook pg. 66) with the exception that VP may be scored on the first Turn. • Scheme Pool: Assassinate (Core Rulebook pg. 68). Arcana Toys, Games and Hobbies in Washington, NJ in its new more spacious location. In its continued support of the growing Malifaux community in the area, a new dedicated gaming area will be created and in house league play will be established. The new league program, R.A.M.S. (Resident Arcana Malifaux Society) will continue in February. With the addition of this dedicated area, games can be played any day of the week that the store is open. The goals of this league is to provide format and structure, reward players for their participation through monthly prizes and increase Malifaux-centric social activities and opportunities for players in the area. R.A.M.S. (Resident Arcana Malifaux Society) will function as the in house league at the Arcana Toys, Games and Hobbies. Each player will be asked to report games for tracking. In addition to tracking game scores, players will be able to earn additional points via a list of achievements. Monthly dues of $10 will be collected, 100% of these dues will be used for the benefit of the local Malifaux gaming community. We will be able to buy mats, terrain, and even use part of the dues to augment the monthly prize support that as your Henchman, I will be providing at the end of each monthly league. Yes, you read that correctly, each month prizes will be given out; as we expand the prizes will grow but let’s be clear, one of the main goals of R.A.M.S. will be to reward the local community for their loyalty and dedication to the game, to this end we very much would like to put out prizes that will undoubtedly be first rate and we have already engaged in conversations with some suppliers in furtherance of that goal. Since we will have our own dedicated space, R.A.M.S. games can be played any day of the week that the store is open and while there will be an incentive for playing different opponents each game, there will be no specific opponent requirement, making it quite possibly the easiest league you will ever participate in.
