  1. I tend to use advanced scope but that is more of a function of cost than desire. I like scout the field more on him but usually not enough more to pay the difference. I have used both.
  2. I have had some success with Hans in Jack Daw crews by making him tormented and using the pushes and obeys from Jack to get more use from him. Also opens up the very card intensive option of copying the ability to give Jack the Ping condition then copying the gun (possibly focused) to shoot off a key master upgrade bypassing their ability to discard 2 cards to stop the shot. That trick works even better with Tara as she has a native SH action but it unfortunately requires Hans to be buried.
  3. Negating Hoffman's constructs really makes him sad.
  4. About the only place I tend to run Pride is in some of my Misaki builds. The threat of her assassinate trigger makes the choices much harder.
  5. I have had success with a Soulstone cycling build using her as a very mobile scalpel. Something to remember is that she gains a when she uses her last SS so if that is used for a she can automatically trigger assassinate. If she has the hodgepodge effigy's loyalty to the Coin she can then drop a card for a new stone if she kills a model. I also use tally sheet to draw a card off the kill as well. Part of the setup have used is to use models like pride to put card pressure on the opponent. The last time I ran this setup she dropped 5 models over the course of the game with the only direct support being the effigy's buff. The rest of the crew was largely independently running schemes or supporting with ranged attacks.
  6. I will admit that application is a bit limited in guild with doppleganger (Lucius crew) and Hannah (mercenary) being your only options. Granted I usually use it with Hannah and Jack Daw out of outcasts. Even alone though she makes a pretty good scheme runner/anti scheme runner on a flank due to her speed. Especially as some of the premier runners (terror tots, void wretched, wind gamin, necropunk, crooligan) don't have that many wounds to start so you can start bleeding your opponent of stones or models quickly.
  7. I have used her many times, though I run her with my outcasts as a Merc/tormented model. I have found that activating her late and targetting smaller targets she tends to stick around well and I can usually deplete my opponent's scheme runners or soulstones. She can get especially deadly in a crew that has a way to copy her attack action as 4 damage once isn't so bad but 2 or 3 times adds up quickly.
  8. If you like the arcane side of Arcanists I would also recommend Rasputina or Sandeep. While Rasputina has typically been my favorite I am quickly becoming a Sandeep convert. I run a very different list than the above (that is not to say better or worse just different). I have found I can run this list into just about any strategy and scheme set I have come across without any changes. Sandeep (to command another world, enlightened soul, arcane reservoir/unaligned sage +1SS) Kudra (warding runes, free of mortal shackles) Arcane Effigy Mechanical Rider Performer Ice gamin Oxfordian Mage (blood ward, temporary shielding) Oxfordian Mage (doom ward, temporary shielding) Summons: fire gamin, ice gamin, wind gamin, Banasura, poison gamin With two summoners you can gain activation control pretty easily which makes schemes a bit easier. Banasura can act as a recyclable beater that you can use to jam your opponent. Kudra can do a surprising amount of damage if you set her up to charge someone, especially if you put a wind gamin with commands in wind near your target (makes her MI 7 with ). Combo that with the performer's built in sip of wine trigger to cause the target to take all of the poison at once. The charge is easier to set up if you have a fire gamin near Kudra since she will gain the she needs to teleport using Sandeep's 0 action. I know the list lacks any single big hitter but the speed and ability to apply pressure when and where you want makes up for that.
  9. I use the child with Jack for a few things: 1. With a high card the child can copy Jack's ability to copy a 1 action. I use this to copy share guilt from the Guilty. 2. He can use Jack's cast attacks at CA4 with . Sure it has a to damage but it can still help. 3. Provides another healing source, not the easiest to use but can come in handy.
  10. I usually find myself reaching for a trapper when I want a sniper. The one exception is when I am running Jack Daw and I want a sniper. Hans benefits more from Jack due to the way he can benefit from the 0 action obey and how he can help with some of Jack's bad matchups.
  11. Yes between Kang helping vs undead/constructs and the upgrade that gives all foundry models a 0 action to discard a card and most defensive abilities she can make a resser's life very difficult. If you suspect Reva you can also give her Thunderous Smash and/or bring the Arcane Emmisary both of which give you methods to clear corpse markers.
  12. You could try Mei Feng. Her vent steam can put Reva on when targetting models within 4. You can then build to taste.
  13. He can be somewhat matchup dependant but for me I find he offers 3 things: Consistent ranged damage with his built in critical strike and on attacks. Card draw which admittedly can be somewhat risky but if you have a way to heal him easily it can be worth it. The that forces enemy casts to have a can be invaluable or worthless depending on the enemy's crew build. Facing Sonnia, Rasputina, or any other CA heavy crew and Sue will become public enemy #1. Facing a crew that does not rely on CA and he will have to focus on his other areas. Overall I rate Sue a very good choice in Outcasts and a situational Mercenary hire.
  14. Personally I would consider Rasputina in most strat/scheme pools but that is a personal bias. Where she does really well though is in pools that have a decent amount of kill based schemes combined with a strategy that forces models to concentrate such as Extraction, Turf War, and Guard the Stash. The one thing I would add is that Rasputina is fairly dependant on having more than just her base box. Snowstorm solves many of the mobility issues with the crew, silent ones provide healing as well as good secondary damage dealers, ice dancers are very very good scheme runners, and December Acolytes provide forward deployment as well as some control elements.
  15. Lately I have been running the following list: Jack Daw (all 3 curses, twist and turn, writhing torment) Hannah (I pay better) Hans (advanced sight) Freikorps Librarian Guilty Malifaux child Hodgepodge effigy Greed 3 cache It comes in at 8 activations and has been surprisingly effective at both schemes and killing. Hans especially can catch people off guard with 2 focused shots per turn using I Pay Better/twist and turn and Advanced Sight. He also can get you out of one particularly bad matchup with Hoffman by getting rid of Arcanists Assets though it takes either some very good timing or a pretty good hand/luck (two 8's, an 11, and a 13). Add to that Jack, Hannah, and Greed all using The Greed Spreads and things start dying faster than many opponents initially assume just looking at the crew. The guilty is a bit of a letdown after the first turn but it does allow Hannah, Jack, itself, and possibly even the Malifaux child to torment the crew. It can make an OK scheme runner using its push though.
  16. I ordered on January 4th, the order consisted of the following: GG2017 Void wretch A, B, C; Union Miner A, B, C; Misaki; Ironsides; Montressor; Tara; Colette; The nothing beast; Scion of the void; Death marshal C; Dead of Winter All stat and upgrade cards were the old versions.
  17. Jack Daw has thus far been very effective for me in GG17. His obey and push effects have been very helpful in getting markers where needed. Also his ability to kill things without having to take credit for it using his "upgrades" can get around the now suited Frame for Murder.
  18. I too want to play more (any) Sandeep but as I don't have him yet due to me making the decision to buy him from my LGS so that I can contribute to them keeping the lights on I am still living vicariously through those who do have him.
  19. It just leaves you with her cache, though honestly I have finished many games with SS left over.
  20. I have won multiple events with the following list: Rasputina- shattered heart, cold nights Wendego Snowstorm Arcane Emmisary- elemental conflux Silent one Silent one Ice Dancer Ice gamin If you prefer you can change out shattered heart for armor of december and grab another upgrade (December's pawn, Sub-Zero, child of December, and/or arcane reservoir)
  21. I also find that the arcane Emmisary can be an amazing choice for Rasputina. The ability to have a resilient mirror that cannot be locked up by engaging it is something not to be overlooked. It can also open up an interesting situation where you can actually use Rasputina's 0 action on targets engaged with the Emmisary.
  22. I would say that she is very solid though I find that ice dancers and silent ones to be very critical to playing her. The silent ones provide additonal attack vectors as well as healing while the ice dancers make scoring scheme marker based schemes much easier.
  23. I am not sure how their capability to shuttle valuable models got hurt as far as I can tell the only change was to their ability to keep what was intended to be a 1 round buff up indefinitely. If your main purpose was moving a key model upfield to use them on the enemy they are unchanged as far as I can tell. I will admit that I am not a guild player and I may have missed something else critical.
  24. Thank you for the responses and Solkan I did not mean to hurt anyone personally.
