  1. On December 30th from noon to six, we will be holding a casual Malifaux event and raffle at Snake Eyes Gaming in Altoona Pennsylvania. Players can game at their own pace, and play the kind of games they are interested in (Gaining Grounds, fun missions, etc.). At the end of the day we will raffle off prizes for those who participated. There is no cost to enter the event. As people play games and earn prize tickets, I will also be available to give demos throughout the day to new players who are interested, or help people who need to brush up on rules. We also have a myriad of crews available if players just want to try something new. Please let me know if you have any questions, and we hope to see you there!
  2. Hi there! We don't have a set date yet, because a few of our regulars (including myself) are pretty busy, but likely sometime in the next 2 months or so. I'll make sure to send you a PM regarding the next one if you are interested. You could also check out our Facebook group for the area if you are interested. https://www.facebook.com/groups/852780818110473/
  3. Hey there everyone! On July 23rd at Snake Eyes Gaming in Altoona Pennsylvania, we will be holding a story encounter tournament. This event will function just like a normal tournament, but will use modified missions from last year's Adepticon. You can peruse the missions beforehand at this link: http://www.adepticon.org/wpfiles/2016/2016malifauxstory.pdf Registration will begin at 11:00 am and the first round will begin at 11:30 am. Presently, there is no cost to participate, however after registration we will determine if we wish to have a buy in to add to our prize pool. Additional prizes will be provided from a Wyrd prize kit of promotional miniatures and guilders. Assuming attendance is high enough, we will be providing prizes for things like Best General, Best Sportsman, etc. At the beginning of the event, players will choose a faction, and can bring any models that they are legally able to bring to that faction to each round, up to their 50 SS limit. The event will last three rounds, with two hours allotted for each round and a break for food. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!

The schemes and scenarios for the event will be drawn from the Gaining Grounds tournament information provided by Wyrd, and the scenarios for this month are as follows: Round 1 - Headhunter, Close Deployment Round 2 - Stake a Claim, Standard Deployment Round 3 - Squatter's Rights, Corner Deployment As usual, schemes will be provided the day of the event in provided tournament packets. If you wish to look at the Gaining Grounds PDF, you can find a download link in this forum post. http://themostexcellentandawesomeforumever-wyrd.com/topic/123837-gaining-grounds-2017/ If you have any questions, please don't be afraid to contact me. Also, if you would like to participate, but need miniatures or some assistance, please let me know and we would be glad to help you out. Hope to see you there!
  5. Hello everyone! At noon on January 21st, 2017 in Altoona Pennsylvania, will be holding a Henchman Hardcore and Enforcer Brawl at Snake Eyes Gaming. There will be no entry fee, and prizes will be given out at the end of the day in a raffle. Players are not required to play in both events (or even all three rounds of the HH), although it will increase their likelihood to win prizes. This is intended to be a low key event for both competitive and new players alike. The Henchmen Hardcore event is different from normal Malifaux events, and is a great way for newer players to jump into the game. The event will be three rounds, and rounds will last 30 minutes (the event might become four rounds if attendance is high enough). Some notable distinctions: - All Crews must be led by a Henchman, not a Master (your henchman is free, like a master). - The game size is 20 Soulstones. - All Crews must contain EXACTLY 4 models, no more, no less. - Upgrades may be purchased, as allowed by the standard rules of Malifaux. - The size of a Crew’s Soulstone Pool is limited by the Cache of the Henchman leading it; any Soulstones above this amount are discarded. - Any Actions, Abilities, or Triggers which summon models are considered to be “blank” (they may not be used and have no effect on the game, as if they were not printed on the model). - Only one Scheme will be available. - The same Crew must be used in each round of the event (so choose wisely). The Enforcer Brawl works differently as well, and will take place after the HH tournament has concluded. In short, each player will select one enforcer of their choice and attach a legal upgrade from their faction to it. Enforcers must have a cost to be played. Then, all players will brawl on the same table, playing for 6 turns, gaining and losing points as they destroy other enforcers or lose their own. More information regarding scoring can be found in the 2016 Gaining Grounds document. If you need more information, please contact me (Tyler Mentzer or TheVeganPolice) prior to the event. Also, if you want to play but don’t think you have the models required to field the force you want (or any models at all!), please speak to one us before the event and we can gladly lend you some or teach you the basics. Hope to see you there!
  6. Hey everyone. On November 26th at 1 pm, we will be holding a 50 soulstone Malifaux Tournament at Snake Eyes Gaming in Altoona Pennsylvania, but with a twist! In this event, players will be given their schemes and strategies at the beginning of each round, and all schemes and strategies will be pooled from an assortment of non-traditional or story-related missions. Be ready to think on your feet! The cost will be ten dollars to participate, all of which goes directly to the prize pool. Registration will begin at 12:30 pm and the first round will begin at 1pm. Additional prizes will be provided from a Wyrd prize kit of promotional miniatures and guilders. Assuming attendance is high enough, we will be providing prizes for Best General, Best Sportsman, Best Painted, and Best Overall. At the beginning of the event, players will choose a faction, and can bring any models that they are legally able to bring to that faction to each round, up to their 50 SS limit. The event will last three rounds, with two hours allotted for each round and a break for food. If you have any questions, please don't be afraid to contact me. Hope to see you there!

  10. Hey everyone! On Friday, July 22nd, we will be kicking off our first Malifaux Growth League at Snake Eyes Games in Altoona Pennsylvania, which will occur every Friday for a month. This is an achievement-based league that rewards players for picking up and trying new models, painting their crews, and playing games with people. The league will have something for new and old players, depending on what you are looking to get out of it. Even if you don't have models, and want to check out how the game is played, feel free to stop out and get some games in. There is no entry fee, and prizes will be provided from a Wyrd prize kit at the end. If you would like to participate, stop out around 6 pm on the 22nd (or the next few Fridays after that), and we will get you set up. The store's page and address are here: https://www.facebook.com/SnakeEyesGamingPA/ Hope to see you there!
  11. Hello everyone! On June 11th, 2016 at 4:30 PM, Snake Eyes Gaming will be holding a Henchman Hardcore event at Sci-Fi in The Valley Con. There will be no entry fee, but there will be free mystery box prizes given away for the winners of the event. This is intended to be a low key event for both competitive and new players alike. We also will be providing demos for Malifaux all weekend at the con, and we will have crews available for new players who want to jump right in and play. The Henchmen Hardcore event is different from normal Malifaux events, and is a great way for newer players to jump into the game. The event will be three rounds, and rounds will last 30 minutes (the event might become four rounds if attendance is high enough). Some notable distinctions: - All Crews must be led by a Henchman, not a Master. - The same Crew must be used in each round of the event. Please contact me if you have any questions. Hope to see you there! For more information on Sci-Fi Valley Con, go here: http://www.scifivalleycon.com/
  12. On the 28th of May, 2016, Snake Eyes will be hosting a Two-Master Tournament. Registration will begin at 11:30, and we will begin the first round shortly after 12. The cost to play is 10 dollars. Players will bring up to 110 soulstones worth of models from a single faction, creating a pool to draw models from during games. However, players are able to bring two different masters from the same faction for use in their games, so choose your models wisely! Note: games will be set at 50ss, so new players only need to have 50ss and a single master to participate. Gameplay will last three rounds, at an hour and 45 minutes per round. Scenarios will be drawn from the Gaining Grounds document, and the scheme pool will be determined before the event. There will be a break after the second round for everyone to grab food. Prizes will be awarded for Best Sportsman, Best Painted, Best General, and Best Overall (attendance permitting). Prizes will be drawn from entry fees, as well as supplemented from a Wyrd prize kit (this means a possible free crew as well as other special edition models). Please contact me if you have any questions. I hope to see you there! FAQ - Summoned models do not have to be included in your 110 SS pool, only models that begin on the board. - Hiring out of faction models that require an upgrade require you to place that model in your soulstone pool, as well as the associated upgrade that allows you to take them. - Mercenary models can be hired normally in your pool, and still require an additional cost of 1SS when hiring from out of faction. Note: some reminders about the Best Painted prize: - If you have won the prize in the most recent previous tournament, you are ineligable to win the prize at the following tournament. - You must display all models that you include in your soulstone pool, even if your crew is not entirely painted.
  13. On the 21st of May, 2016, Snake Eyes Gaming in Altoona Pennsylvania will be hosting a Malifaux Scenario Day from 12 to 7. The purpose of the event will be to play some of the less competitive scenarios paired with the books and crew boxes. Players will be able to play scenarios of their own choosing, or will be given random scenarios to play with their opponent. There is no set time limit to games. There is also no entry fee, so this event is free to participate in. Each game of 35ss or more that you complete with an opponent will get you one raffle ticket to win special edition miniatures and guilders at the end of the day. Note: "finishing" a game means playing it to completion. Forfeited games don't count toward the raffle. Prizes will be raffled off at 7. This is intended to be a fun event for more casual players, so bring some models you've wanted to try out, or get some games under your belt if you are new. Also, if anyone has access to any of the scenario kits or models that they might be interested in playing with, please bring them along and we can add them to our existing pool. Let me know if you have any questions. Hope to see you there!
  14. Hello everyone! At noon on April 23rd, 2016, we will be holding a Henchman Hardcore and Enforcer Brawl at Snake Eyes Gaming. There will be no entry fee, but there will be free mystery box prizes given away for the winners of each event, and there may also be an undetermined number of door prizes. The first 16 players to register that day will also receive a participation guilder, which can be turned in to Wyrd for prizes at a later date. Players are not required to play in both events, although it will increase their likelihood to win prizes. Some notable distinctions listed in the Gaining Grounds document: All Crews must be led by a Henchman, not a Master. The game size is 20 Soulstones. All Crews must contain exactly 4 models, no more, no less. Upgrades may be purchased, as allowed by the standard rules of Malifaux. The size of a Crew’s Soulstone Pool is limited by the Cache of the Henchman leading it; any Soulstones above this amount are discarded. Any Actions, Abilities, or Triggers which summon models are considered to be “blank” (they may not be used and have no effect on the game, as if they were not printed on the model). Then, all players will brawl on the same table, playing for 6 turns, gaining and losing points as they destroy other enforcers or lose their own. More information regarding scoring can be found in the latest Gaining Grounds document. If you need more information, please contact me prior to the event. 15. Hey man! How often do you pop into the northern part of the state? I'm not in need of a demo, but there seem to be very few Malifaux players in Morgantown at the moment.
  16. If you are ever back in town, feel free to hit us up! We try to have some kind of event (tournament or otherwise) every month. Here is our facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/groups/852780818110473/
  17. On March 19th 2016, Snake Eyes will be hosting our first Malifaux tournament! Here is what you need to know: Most of the event will be run using the new Gaining Grounds Organized Play Format for 2016. As there are new missions and schemes in the format, you should familiarize yourself with them. The link is here: http://www.wyrd-games.net/s/Organized-Play-Formats-17km.zip Entry fee is 10 dollars. Prizes will be determined depending on attendance, and we do have a small prize pack on its way. Registration will be at 12:00p,. First round will start at 12:30. There will be a break after the second round for players to get some quick food if needed. Format is 50ss games (and of course your free master) with some slight changes from gaining grounds. You must choose a master and faction to use the entire tournament (declared at registration). Also, you must bring a list of up to 100 soulstones worth of models and upgrades that you will choose from throughout the event. Please bring multiple copies. As this is our store's first malifaux tournament, and there are many new players, this is a way to ease the newer player-base into the tournament scene. If the event is below 16 people, we will play 3 rounds, at 1 hour and 45 minutes a piece. If our numbers are above sixteen, the consideration will be made to play four rounds (and you will be informed at the beginning of the event). Models do not have to be painted (although if attendance allows we will likely give prizes for painting). Proxies are acceptable as long as one can easily determine what the model is/looks similarly to the model in question. Please bring a fate deck and all cards you wish to use for your models. This includes ANY model you wish to field. If you do not have a card for a model, it cannot be used in the event. Print outs are acceptable. Missions will be selected from the Gaining Grounds mission rotation for March. All of these can be found in the document if you want to look at them early. The missions are: Round 1 - Interference, Standard Deployment, Round 2 - Squatter's Rights, Corner Deployment, Round 3 - Headhunter, Standard Deployment. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me. Hope to see you there! Link to the facebook event: https://www.facebook.com/events/1667506973487806/ Quick FAQ about the format: You do not have to have 100 soulstones if you do not physically own 100 soulstones worth of models. However, 100 soulstones is the maximum amount of models/upgrades that you can bring to the event. If you wish to use multiple copies of an upgrade you have to include multiple copies of it in your 100 soulstone list. Summoned models do not have to be included in your 100 soulstone list, only what starts on the table.
  18. Hello everyone. On Saturday February 6th, I will be running Through the Breach Demos starting at noon at Snake Eyes Gaming. We will have at least two GMs on hand who are familiar with the system, and plan on running a variety of Penny Dreadful one-shots using the pre-constructed characters included in the scenarios themselves. We would like to get more than one session in throughout the day if possible so that players are able to come and go as they please. There is no cost to play or learn, and new learners are not required to bring anything (we should have fate decks and dice on hand), although they are welcome to bring any extra gaming supplies they might wish to use beyond what we have. Please contact me if you have any questions. We hope to see you there! 19. On Saturday, January 16th at Snake Eyes Gaming, I will be holding the final month of a series of four monthly connected tournaments, using many of the rules from the Shifting Loyalties campaign book. Due to the difficulty of getting our store's Malifaux group together for weekly events, we gravitated more toward a monthly tournament format, with time limits, rounds, and random pairings, but still using the scoring system and roster system from Shifting Loyalties. Registration is at 11, and we typically begin the first of three rounds at 11:30. You are not required to stay for the entire event, but you will accumulate points for every game that you win (subsequently, if you are also going to be late, just message me and I can get you in for some later rounds). For those who have not played in previous events, players will catch up using the rules for starting a new crew in the Shifting Loyalties book, and will begin with access to 65 scrip and six barter flips to catch up (as well as the first discounted model of the new "week"). We will have several players attending who would be glad to help get you caught up, and I would be glad to answer any questions/help you myself. Prizes will be awarded to the top three players who have accumulated the most points over the series of tournaments, as well as prizes for best sportsman, and best painted. We will also be giving away a random prize for a bonus objective that will be announced at the event (typically requiring players to accomplish something optional on the tabletop). New players will pay a ten dollar entry fee, which goes toward prizes. Also, if you are a facebook user, we have an open group on facebook that you are welcome to join, where events are posted and members frequently meet up for games. The link is: https://www.facebook.com/groups/852780818110473/ If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact me personally. We hope to see you there!
  20. Also, as a resource, our store's group regularly uses this facebook page for communication, and new events. The link is: https://www.facebook.com/groups/852780818110473/ The store's facebook page also has more information about their location and other interesting bits that might be useful to you. https://www.facebook.com/SnakeEyesGamingPA/ Thanks everyone! Looking forward to meeting some new players in our area.
  21. On Saturday, December 19th at Snake Eyes Gaming, I will be holding the third month of a series of four monthly connected tournaments, using many of the rules from the Shifting Loyalties campaign book. Due to the difficulty of getting our store's Malifaux group together for weekly events, we gravitated more toward a monthly tournament format, with time limits, rounds, and random pairings, but still using the scoring system and roster system from Shifting Loyalties. Registration is at 11, and we typically begin the first of four rounds at 11:30. You are not required to stay for the entire event, but you will accumulate points for every game that you win (subsequently, if you are also going to be late, just message me and I can get you in for some later rounds). For those who have not played in previous events, players will catch up using the rules for starting a new crew in the Shifting Loyalties book, and will begin with access to 55 scrip and four barter flips to catch up (as well as the first discounted model of the new "week"). We will have several players attending who would be glad to help get you caught up, and I would be glad to answer any questions/help you myself. There will be a prize given out for the first to accomplish a random objective throughout the day, and various prizes awarded at the end of Month Four. New players will pay a ten dollar entry fee, which goes toward the prize for Month 3, but also goes toward larger prizes at the end of Month 4 (1st, 2nd, 3rd, Sportsman, Best Painted). Paying the entry fee once allows you to attend Month 4 for free. Also, if you are a facebook user, we have an open group on facebook that you are welcome to join, where events are posted and members frequently meet up for games. The link is: https://www.facebook.com/groups/852780818110473/ If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact me personally. We hope to see you there!
  22. Hello! On Friday the 18th of December I will be running demos of Malifaux Second Edition at Snake Eyes Gaming in Altoona Pennsylvania. I plan to start at 6:30 PM, and should be there until about midnight. If you played in first edition and need a refresher, or even if you are new to the game, we would love to have you along. If this night does not work for you, please message me personally, and I can find a day/time that works for the both of us, or put you in contact with other henchmen/players who frequent the store. Looking forward to seeing you! Where: Snake Eyes Gaming, 201 Cayuga Ave. Ste 10, Altoona Pennsylvania, 16602 When: 12/18/2015 (or by request) at 6:30 pm to roughly midnight.
  23. I am not sure there has been any official word yet, but I am certainly interested as well as I am already running events in that capacity. I assume we will hear something soon.
  24. I would diversify your crew. I would stick with only running one stalker to start like you have, just for condition removal if you need it. Otherwise, some good choices are: - Austringers (useful in helping others achieve schemes, shooting into combat, doesn't need LOS, generally being annoying) - Hunters (can bring your targets closer to your melee, strong in their own right) - Death Marshals (unimpeded, can pine box big targets, hard to wound) - Maybe a watcher for scheme running if you think you need it. Generally anything that can support your slow movement speed and lack of shooting would help you quite a bit I think.
