  1. That is a very good question! In my case it comes down to what kind of terrain is on the table. IF there is a lot of blocking terrain i prefere Seamus, if there are alot of forests and severe i go for Reva i guess.
  2. Ive not tryed it yet but i was thinking a Carrion emissary with Carrion conflux + Draugr tag team where the draugr gives The Carrion emissary an upgrade so the emissary gets +flip on attacks and the Draugr gets + flip from the Emissary.
  3. Yes, works quite well since you can with Guises of death deploy a Corpse Candle very far back (not within 8" on enemy models of course) the Candle will at an appropriate timme walk up, kill itself and let Killjoy out where you want him. Problem with Killjoy as I see it is that both he and Reva has so great attacks so they both compete for the high-cards in your control hand to get the most value out of the models. Since he is so expensive you will probably on have 7-8 members in your crew (most likely 7) you will get 1 extra activation from the Guise corpse candle and 1 extra activation from Reva summoned corpse candle before killjoy pops out. So if you start the round its very unlikely that you have out-activated the opponent before Killjoy appears.
  4. She is very valid. Perfect in stake a claim where you can put a claim marker in the opponents backfield turn 1 thanks to Guises of Death corpse candle and the opponent is on the back foot right away. I use it all the time. Poping Bette out from corpse candles is amazing in a lot of different scheme-situations. Denying markers for leave your mark and claim jump for example. You need to keep that 10+ for her though but since she has +flip on attack it evens out a bit. Reva is a quite card intensive master. You want the high cards for her attacks and some moderate cards for her teleport-0 and a low card to summon a corpse candle. Therefor You want a crew that has high ca/ma or +flip and preferably high wp so you dont need to waste cards on wp-duels. Yin is nice in theory since you then dont need to use that many high cards on revas attacks. Set-up, Mark for Death is horrible schemes for her though so avoid these. In setups case try to figure out if they have it and then deny it by not letting bette be near scheme-markers
  5. My best advice is to be prepared with all the cards and miniatures you will be summoning during the match. Preferably on a tournament trey of some sort. Malifaux is a hard game but with very few actual time-sinks compared to other minature games. Duels are resolved fast since you dont roll lots of dice and since there are so few miniatures it does not take that much time moving them about compared to games with highter model-count. Spending time on valuating a activation on a difficult board-state is perfectly fine. This is how time should be spent. But spending time on finding stuff in your miniature bag, tokens and cards is not ok and something a lot of people could prepare a lot better to avoid. Molly is super fun btw.. Wish i played with that master more. Best Regards Johan/Khaiden
  6. Hi I Would like a place on the reserv-list please. Johan Hoflin
  7. Thanks Aaron, btw will the Mr. Cooper Card at wargamevault be changed as well?
  8. I paid 100 Euro (109,60 USD) for my unpainted one, that was 7 month ago The product is quite rare, especially unpainted and Malifaux is growing. Im sure you will find the right buyer.
  9. If im not going summoner (Nico-prefered for this one) I like a mix of killy fast big models with 3" engagementrange combine witn night Terrors. The killy guys will engage multiple opponents while the night terrors stay unengaged and score you Points on the strat Give something like this a try: Seamus 6 cash +Bag +Red chaple killer Copy Cat Killer Valedictorian Dead Rider Madame Sybelle Dead Doxy Night terror Night terror
  10. Yes. the wording is "Pram: When this model is moved or pushed by another friendly model, it may be moved or pushed 2 additional inches."
  11. Great read Joe, Glad you included Philip and the Nanny in one of your lists. Philip combined with Blood Mark on Reva is super strong in a scheme marker heavy game. Especially when the opponent took schemes that makes them travel into your part of the table to place markers. That Blood Mark 1AP pram push of 7" and then a free 0 to remove an enemy scheme marker and make it into a corpse-marker is bonkers.. You basically force the opponent to skip schemes like Leave your mark and Undercover breakthrough when adding Philip to your crew. Im a big fan of Bette Noire in Reva crews. Revas Corpse Candles are amazing with her, they basically let you unbury Beté in a way not possible before. Reva summons one 8” towards where you want bete to pop. (reach of 8” and 30mm from the base) When the corpse candle later activates its slow but since their “kill them self ability” is a 0 they can walk 4” and pop Bete out. With Betes 1” melee range you can position Bete for a flurry about 14,4” away from Reva or 22,4” charge-threat. Since her meleerange is only 1” making it easier to positon her right is very valuable. Since Bete can interact when she comes out you can easely do alot of scheming with her with the help of this positioning. Reading through all the schemes from GG16 with her new sneeky positioning she can help do them all except public demonstration and Occupy their turf. Here are two sample lists, with Beté Of course - Schememarker heavy with important positioning - Reve (6stones) - Blood Mark - Guise of Death Anna Lovelace -My little helper Philip and the Nanny -Haunting Cries Bete Noire Shieldbearer x2 Crooligan x 2 (or swith to a belle) For killy ive actually played this list and tabled the Vicks in a close deploy squatters rights game. (yes its abit silly but worked) Reva (4 stones) - Guises of Death - Blood mark Anna Lovelace - My little helper Killjoy Bete Noire Shieldbearer x2 Rotten belle Cheers! and Joe i Hope you give Bete a try!
  12. What kind of reactions do you got from your opponents when you play Reva? What do they find annoying?
  13. Yes but you need to chose one of the flipped cards as Active, of course you can choose the lower value card but then the opponent will probably cheat fate if he is about to lose the duel. I guess I was not 100% clear of what I ment.
  14. I play Bete quite a lot, this is how I play her. Not saying it’s the best way but it works quite good for me. I take her in my crew when I want to protect schemerunners that need to travel into my opponents half of the table and/or play mind games with them. Ive lately been playing a lot with Reva lately and Bete has become an auto-take for me in Reva crews, Ill explain why further down. So about those mindgames. She is quite easy to forget about and often you want the opponent to respect her even when she is not out on the table. If I want the opponent to fear Bete popping out I sometimes casually mention her like “wops better not forget Bete this match, I usually forget I have her.. hehe” and the opponent will automatically have her top of mind as a threat and might to overthink his actions and make mistakes. On the other hand if my opponent forgets about her and is about to do something that will punish him I of keep my big mouth shut and let them walk into it. When I do pop her out I try to position her in a way that she ties up the opponents unactivated models and wait as long as possible to activate her. That way the opponent need to think hard on what to do and hopefully make the mistake and attack her. With defence 7 she Is very hard to hit and most often the opponent need to use their control-hand just to get a hit in. Wasting AP and cards on a model that can come back is what we love seeing the opponent do. Especially if she has not activated yet. Sure that 10 needed to succeed with “One with the night” is annoying to keep in hand but I’ve noticed that as long as the opponent see that you have cards in hand they are not that eager to attacking her at all. When I feel that she is safe for the turn I use the 10+ card for other things if needed. If I have a high crow in hand and have the opportunity to paralyze an imported living unactivated model I go for her activation early to get that paralyze in. Most masters are living. Her plus flip on attacks is amazing with all the triggers. Most often the opponent doesn’t bother to cheat since you manage to land the hit with the high card. You can now cheat in to get the suit you really want to trigger. Don’t forget that you can’t use the lower card that you flipped since you need to choose one of the cards flipped to be the card you add to your stat you are using. Ive seen this done wrong by a lot of players on abilities they have plus flip and different triggers. But that’s another topic. Another thing that players forget about Bete is that she only unbury when Living and Undead models die. Fortunately for us Corpse Candles, Crooligans, and Mindless Zombies that I usually throw in the opponents face to threaten them with Bete are all undead. Seisins and Shieldbearers that have “turned” is not undead or living though so She is not popping out from those models. Revas Corpse Candles are amazing with Bete, they basically let you unbury Beté in a way not possible before. Reva summons one 8” towards where you want bete to pop. (8” and 30mm from the base) When the corpse candle later activates its slow but since their “kill them self ability” is a 0 they can walk 4” and pop Bete out. With Betes 1” melee range you can position Bete for a flurry about 14,4” away from Reva or 22,4” charge-threat. Since her meleerange is only 1” making it easier to positon her right is very valuable. Last game I had I popped Bete up close to a group of activated enemy models and put down a schememarker to get Detonate the Charges in. (the other marker for full points was created by Reva. I later that match used another corpse candle to pop her out in charge range of a Terror tot that I had previously ignored. Its was peacefully running down my flank to dish out scheme markers for leave your mark.. Bete denied the schememarker to score and killed the tot. To summarize how i play her: 1. Don’t activate to quickly after she comes out, let the opponent take the hard decisions. 2. If you feel she is safe for the turn and you need to use that high card you are hogging for something important.. use it. If Bete has done her part in the match and its OK for her to Die.. use the card as well even if she is not safe. It’s the scores that matter not keeping your models around. 3. If you play Reva, give Bete a go and try out my corpse-candle shananigans. You will love it. 4. Casually remind the opponent that you have Bete in stand by ready for action when it suits you. Extra good if the opponent already finds her annoying. Cheers!
  15. I had a sweet match against the Viks a week or so ago where I managed to keep Reva "disguised" the entire match (at least all turns where it mattered), quite frustrating for the opponent never being able to charge her. Neutralize the leader was in the pool as well. Some careful positioning, good use of the corpse candles is key when protecting her from a melee orienting crew and still get the most out of her. Corpse Candles = Gold! Some tricks with the Corpse-Candles I came to think of. Since the Corpse Candles are Spirits you can use Revas Blood Mark from the bloodmark upgrade to basically give Reva an Accomplice-like ability for 1 AP and a low medium card (if you dont flip high enough, a 6) You summon a corpse Candle when she activates with Forgotte Dead ability. Use Blood mark on the candle (need a 6 for it to go of) position it better if needed and make it use the 0 Blind Sacrifice to draw a card and discard a card (always awesome) and then target a friendly model within 8" that gets to activate after the current activation). As a bonus You get a corpse marker in position for Revas upcoming attacks. You don’t have the restriction of within 6" for accomplice either so this one is a lot more flexible. Great for putting heavy pressure on the opponent with your beatsticks. Getting to activate 2 amazing killers back to back is bonkers and thats perhaps why accomplice is an uncommon ablity for a damage dealer to have. Sure Reva gets 1 less AP but since she can charge for 1 AP (with Beyond Death trigger) and use her 0 to Damage you will still be able to put out some serious hurt. Getting a “accomplice after Reva” is of course also Great for collecting that head in Headhunter after reva kills a target and you want to pick up the head before the opponent do. If you want to keep Reva safe you can of use one of her 1AP to Blood Mark the corpse Candle to use it for the disguised ability as well never letting the opponent get the chance to charge her at all. Bette Noir is amazing in a crew where you have models that can kill themselves. Since The Corpse Candles “kill” is a 0 you can basicly take a walk with a newly summoned Corpse Candle into position and kill itself, why not to give Reva disguised or perhaps “accomplice” into something. Then Pop Out bette in a flurry position right away, and don’t forget the corpse marker. Have you guys found something cool to do with the corpse candles yet?
  16. Thanks! I got some more pictures of them on my instagram www.instagram.com/hoflin
  17. Thanks for the report! Good Work. Love the gremlin bases btw looks very cool.
  18. Yin that puts -flipp on WP duels will set up for a sweet Life Drain attack, Sure its not expunge but what is. Cant wait to see what the upgrades realy do and how her crew works.
  19. I do and I love it! Focus against a target with 6- wounds left if you got the posibillity to cheat in severe damage, you will kill it and you will get a Gaki. Oh and it ignores armor to.. and does not randomise into engagement.. Sick shit imho
  20. Seamus is a very good and competitive master, and his box is good place to start. He is the first master for a lot of resser-players out there. Summoning is not always good in this game and it can be abit of a trap when learning the game. The sequencing and activation-order is one of the most important elements of the game and I think its easier to learn this by not playing a dedicated summoner. Resser is not the best faction to pick if you are on tight budget. Summoners demand models and if you are like the rest of us you will want all the options available quite soon after you start collecting. Ive played for a year now and have all available plastic resser models.. its like a drug... As Tmod said, Seamus + Mcmourning Box are a great start. You might want to add a beatstick like Rogue Necromancy to that mix aswell. If you enjoy the game.. you will probably end up with more models then you have time to paint and play in half a year. =) Good luck
