  1. Not only gaining the returned Keyword, but loyalist was changed to "crews containing Nekima" instead of just "lead by...", implying there will be another master who will be able to hire both Nekima and Barbaros down the line.
  2. Yeah, and that's why I posted that FAQ in reply to what I quoted.
  3. You don't need to do any conversion. You put your ruler next to the model and start moving them, just double counting distance as long as their base is in severe terrain. You said But the effective difference is not small at all. To get to a point where it would be small would be quite small would require a rewrite. As it is right now if the only change was "Severe is no Hazardous(staggered)", that would have massive changes Why do you think you're talking for most people, and why do you think the battle reports are in anyway indicative of how a larger population of people play Malifaux? It's not similar. At all. And Jedza's crew, Rusty, Mysterious Emissary, Mah+crew, Vatagi Huntsman, WW, Bandersnatch, Kurgan, Grootslang. All off the top of my head. If Titania was able to just freely give out staggered like this change would allow, she would get a pretty massive boost. ...what? There's a pretty long and unguarenteed process to get web marker to parasite damage, and that's only web markers that get dropped to set up for the summoning. Plenty more web markers get dropped, and it makes the Archivist even better since it could lock down models.
  4. If they're moving through more than 2" of severe terrain yes, which isn't uncommon at all. You don't need to, just measure to move normally and double count as long as the base is in terrain. Yeah you can't use a stick, but you also can't really use a stick when you're trying to do anything but move in a straight line so I'm not sure why it's specifically a problem with severe. The effective difference between the two is very big as has already been somewhat gotten into. To get to a point where it would interact similarly to how severe works would require a near total rewrite of the hazardous rules, staggered as a condition to be changed, and models that are built with current staggered interactions in mind to be changed. Very often? It's usually quicker to move straight through a patch of severe terrain than go all the way around and out of activation movement helps with that. With your change that just... wouldn't be an option. Also it makes any crew that can make severe terrain significantly more effective at locking down enemy models.
  5. I can understand wanting more hazardous terrain than most people use, but going so far as to say that Hazardous terrain should be forced to be on tables is definitely a spicy take.
  6. "Other models treat the area within 2 of this model as Severe"
  7. No, as far as the scheme is concerned it's not a marker. Compare the wording to Gravediggers Field of Corpses.
  8. If the Grave Goo is within 2" of a moorwraith then the area within 2" of the moorwraith becomes hazardous for your opponent.
  9. Pushes and Places are also forms of movement alongside the basic "move"
  10. It is being treated as a model. Anything that affects models would affect it.
  11. The issue is that just discarding a pass token doesn't automatically mean you are skipping an activation. You can choose to discard a pass token at the right step to skip an activation, but you can also discard them at other times if a models effect calls for it.
  12. He's vulnerable to a lot of manipulation yeah, but it's not like 10T is lacking ways to just negate that manipulation, especially if he's taken with Shenlong. The only real things that concern him are stuff like Obey or the low number of actions that can actually shut him off from his crew in some way that don't also involve moving him, because he has laugh off. Getting a boring conversation aura overlapping him is nice sure, until the opponent just moves Fuhatsu or the BC model out of range, or Fuhatsu just walks away and still gets 2 shots. As for HtW, honestly it's more of a liability than anything else against Fuhatsu unless he's got focus. His attacks are most likely hitting, and you're just giving more cards flipped for a joker. As for getting into the actual problems Fuhatsu causes, he's a powerful ranged model that needs very specific tech taken to actually counter him. You can't just engage him to at least put him on 1 attack because he has Scamper and Rapid Fire. Not to mention he's very easily min 3 or even 4 and that causes a massive problem. Remember what happened to the other 3 min 3 ranged model that couldn't be stopped by just engaging her? Also not sure why you're including that last point. So many models do the exact role Fuhatsu does, large stone beater model whose primary purpose isn't to score points, that get taken just as frequently and do their jobs worse than Fuhatsu does. Just having to deal with Fuhatsu completely warps a gameplan unless you happen to have the limited tech that's available to neutralize him. His presence sets up a large area of denial that his opponents have to deal with somehow, and it's not like schemes don't exist that are reliant on killing or damage that Fuhatsu can score perfectly fine even if he's "just guns'a'blazing".
  13. Calypso's Mass of Tentacles trigger on its Mining Tools is a good example. Against an incorporeal model it will do 2/3/4 damage, which gets reduced by 1. Then the trigger will do 1 damage, reduced by 1.
  14. This is going to be incredibly unhelpful, but the answer is just yes. To expand on that, every turn with you need to reevaluate Maxines role in the game. Will she be better buffing up your models? Will she be better going on the offensive and milling your opponents deck? Will she be better staying back, taking some shots while drawing some cards/putting down scheme markers? Some mixture of all 3? Maxine doesn't have any single role in the crew which is where the difficulty in playing her comes from. Things to consider when choosing what she's going to do for a turn: What is the board state? Try and identify how useful the big conditions(Slow, Stunned, Fast and to a lesser extent Staggered) will be. Ideally Slow or Fast should be given out to 2 models at once to help your action economy. Stunned should be given out if a model has powerful triggers and you know you won't be able to reliably kill them or keep them from using their actions. Staggered if you just need to lock something down like if you're trying to score Bait and Switch. If you're going to give out Focused or Distracted you definitely want to be using Maximum Force, and someone like the Tidecaller or Kiya getting free focus is pretty big with their spike damage tracks. If you've taken Mr. Ngaatoro poison gains a huge bump in consideration thanks to his Neurotoxins. Give a Henchman or Master that's anywhere near Ngaatoro poison and now your opponent has a huge problem on their hands. Does your opponent look like they're set up for a good turn? This is the biggest time to consider milling out your opponents deck, and is a decision that needs to be made in the Start Phase when you're choosing your suit. Maxine is able to force her opponent to discard half their hand at random and a variable amount of their deck, so ideally you want to choose a suit that isn't important to your opponent. For example, if your opponent is playing guild and wants Rams, choose any other suit so that more rams will get pulled from their deck whenever you succeed. If you're going to go this route, you need to make sure Maxine is safe. She should have something in charge range and then Order in Chaos out to safety, as she's getting less protection from Two Steps Ahead Is Maxine not in a position to go an attack something or you just need some cards drawn? This is when you want to use her ranged attack. Age of Inspiration is a great trigger when you're hitting double or triple negatives as it gives you a better chance of flipping Severes to draw. Additionally she has Draw Out Secrets, so can fairly easily place down 3 scheme markers in a single activation, all very far away from each other. Last turn and you need to score spread them out? Just choose Tomes for Maxine and she can wait until the final activation and plop out 3 qualifying scheme markers super easily between her 12" range and 6" place For something specific, @murakigave a good turn 1 opening but I would suggest having Maxine go later instead of first. For example, there's no reason she needs to go before the Machinist, and that's cards in the discard pile right there. She only needs to activate before the Tidecaller and Kiya, who you want to activate fairly late in the turn anyways(or you can activate them early and set yourself up for a turn 2 attack in which case you have even more time to wait for Maxine to activate). Every activation Maxine gets delayed is more chances to get cards you want in the discard pile/more cards your opponent gets in the discard pile.
  15. Also, given the propensity of Bayou wanting to hurt themselves, getting this card draw out of healing means you're just getting extra bonuses, especially when paired with someone like Sammy who gets to let you draw cards for hurting yourself in the right keywords.
  16. Need is definitely too strong of a word for an Aeslin buff. She could definitely use one to become a bit more central to the keyword(like most crewbox henchmen are) but as it stands she's fine If she was going to get a buff, just give her armor, at least then she'd have the same defensive stats as the Student of Viscera.
  17. There are also a few other past relationships mentioned/implied with some of the asian women in the game. Youko, who we know nothing about who she had a child with. It was implied(or at least I read it this way, might just be me), that Minako had some form of physical relationship with the old Oyabun. Not a master but still narratively important. And Asami, whose Asian family was killed as part of her Tragic Backstory. As an aside I think it's worth noting that Yan Lo started as a fairly direct reference to Lo Pan, who was decidedly not an asexual character.
  18. The object generating the pulse needs to have LoS to everything that would be affected, not the other way around.
  19. Height itself doesn't, but the shadow rules do(which is just managing to get out of LoS again)
  20. "At least x" from..." is not the same as "within x" of..."
  21. Obey and better card draw. Not only can Zoraida obey the emissary to get more attack out of it, she can also obey enemy models to get them into severe terrain and/or next to other enemy models first to set up the emissary's attacks. Then on top of that Zoraida has some absolutely disgusting card draw with Bokors and she can just draw an entire new hand on her own if you want to. Once you actually get the hazardous terrain out now any obey can be doing damage thanks to it.
