  1. How did you go from "all terrain has a base" to "aura terrain does not have a base".
  2. Importantly though if you have multiple models of the same cost you don't need to choose one of them for the end point, as long as any of them can survive to the end and be in the enemy deployment zone you get the point.
  3. But use corpses, not web markers
  4. That's not true. Either is always followed by an or when you are making a list. In this case it is implicit because the options can be shorted into a single plural noun, if you were to actually expand it then it would read as "...either a friendly or enemy leader" or some other variation thereof. The only time any or either can be substituted for each other is when you're making a selection from a pool and there are only 2 options.
  5. Load em' up isn't making both leaders a single entity, it's saying either leader counts, but 3 still need to be near one of them. Additionally, to your later comment, either is not the same as any. Either is implicitly telling you to make a choice of one or the other, whereas any does not.
  6. All measurement is done from the edge of things. The strategy makes no mention of measuring from any different point, so why would we?
  7. Ivan1 lost umbra because of the combination of easy healing as well as removing shadow markers to reduce damage against him. Ivan2 can't reduce damage by removing shadow markers, so the healing isn't as much of a problem. It also had the side benefit of meaning he can't Encroaching Shadows himself, which gave him an extra level of mobility that he really didn't need access to.
  8. Of the 2, Euri1 is definitely more versatile. Euri2 is a support master masquerading as a melee/ranged beater. Euri1 can easily swap between area control, beating and scheming as needed. As for Euri2 fixing Euri1's unpack issues, my only response is what unpack issues, especially with Kaltgeists now. In all my Euri1 games I've never had a problem with unpacking my crew. Yeah Euri2 can open up more paths for the crew, but it's far from necessary, and makes Euri2 even slower when compared to Euri1, since Euri1 is already barely ever spending actions on moving unless it's a charge.
  9. Issue with using bultungins for that is you're suffering 1-2 damage on them for each hazardous they make.
  10. Emissary and Dora2 both also make hazardous terrain.
  11. Model activates near Candy and gains stunned. Someone uses misery to damage them 1, Pandora uses Expose Fears to move them, with each source of hazardous they move through being another damage. Pandora and the Emissary are each a single source of hazardous, so there was likely some on the board as well or using the hazardous from the Rider
  12. Runic Siphon happens after fate modifiers have been determined, because you need to know if you have any positives to the duel before you can spend them.
  13. Abilities use the same format, on some of them, but there is no place in the rules where abilities are described as having special restrictions or what they are.
  14. Special Restrictions is a specific game term, restrictions is not. Abilities don't have Special Restrictions, and it being included in the list of things a model with the ability can choose to be affected by should show that it's not talking about the Special Restrictions that actions and triggers have.
  15. For that example you're forgetting that protected(and TTH) ignore targeting restrictions.
  16. Problem with that is, the the effect isn't even generated until after you've checked if a model has been damaged by BItS, which means you haven't resolved any BItS yet so nothing has been damaged by BItS. You don't just look for any effect that can resolve, resolve it, and then start checking for another effect that can resolve. You check for any effects that resolve at any timing point, generate them, then determine the order in which the generated effects resolve. Not to mention that BItS has the same problem We Are Legion has where it uses "this ability" which always means "This singular instance of this ability written down on this card" until enough people realize there was a mistake and the ability actually shouldn't work like that because it'd be broken. And there's the question of, should this ability just be able to mulch through shielded? Any interpretation of the ability that allows for multiple BItS off of the same parasite token is broken
  17. There's nothing in the rules that state objects can't overlap impassable markers. The rules state that objects cannot be dropped or placed overlapping impassable markers. No it's not, because the rule only exists for when you are moving an impassable marker. If an impassable marker isn't being moved, it can't be treated as a model.
  18. So firstly, unclean influence isn't a currently resolving effect. It is an already resolved effect, an effect which generates an action. Going into the broader do currently resolving effects transfer or not, if they didn't then models that replace on death/0 wounds and are unable to heal/healing doesn't save them would not count as being killed by any effect and it gets really sticky for resolving effects that just kill a model. If the killed effect doesn't transfer over then the replaced model just wouldn't die.
  19. Not the question I was asking. I'm asking what reasoning is there to exclude those types of effects when designing this rule. When the RAW is broken we have to try and look at RAI to figure out how it's supposed to work. Now we can all agree that the RAI for this specific interaction is incredibly unlikely to favor a Rat King taking up to 11 actions in a row, but does that mean we also have to break potentially break the RAI for other effects? It's fine to just go "this specific interaction is unintended and dumb, let's ignore it" and leave it at that. Hell Wyrd has done it themselves with FAQs when an errata would require hitting too many cards(We Are Legion), and we've also seen the consequences of what happens when a ruling is made because of a specific interaction but is for all interactions of that type (the first Enraged By Insolence and the word "another" FAQ). So I'll ask again. Why should those effects not transfer? No, it's realizing that the wording is very obviously not using target as a game term, and interpreting it as any effect currently affecting a model is an effect targeting/choosing that model. And again, the inclusion of things that no amount of contorting can ever be described as effects makes it clear that section of the replace rules is talking about the transferring over the current game state of the model and acting like nothing changed.
  20. The effect didn't target any model. The action does, and the action applies an affect. If you want to go that route, then since it says "targeted" if you use TTH on analyze weakness then the effect won't transfer over. Hell you could even argue that if TTH was used to block analyze weakness on the replacing model, it would get replaced and now have the armor ignore effect on it because the model was targeted by the action. I think it's a huge logical leap to go "well this is clearly not worded in such a way that it is using the game term target" and say "so only this arbitrary list of effects transfer" and not "so any effect that is currently affecting a model transfers". Why would the effect of Move Along not transfer? Or Go Hog Wild? Not to mention that the inclusion of things that are also very clearly not effects, scheme choice and leader designation, shows that they're pretty much just trying to convey that the new model is considered to be the old model(s) in every way as far as the rest of the game is concerned, but there's no real rules way to phrase that.
  21. Show me any effect in the game that actually targets or chooses a model and then we can go from there.
  22. Yes. Every "once per" is per model on the card the text is written. So Zoraida can only target any individual model once per activation with Obey, but that doesn't restrict other models with Obey from targeting that model in that activation, and so you can chain through other models.
  23. This isn't how measurement works in malifaux. Malifaux uses inclusive measurements, so "within X" means any number from 0 to X will be within X". This is most easily deomstrated by a model being in base contact, and then moving exactly 2" away is still within 2" of the other model and you'd be able to perfectly fit a 2" ruler inbetween them.
  24. Abilities like the Corpse Curator's would not work, as it is only models that get to treat them as a marker and not the players/scheme. You would need an ability like the Gravedigger's Field Of Cropses, which doesn't specify only models treat them as something else.
