  1. Guild has had massive shakeups just due to having a new, not corrupt, Governor General.
  2. On the plus side, you’re free to print the stat cards in whatever size you want, since they will be free.
  3. Gamers? I don’t see a point in segregation. We play the same game. Personally, my group plays a mix of ways. We sometimes meet at someone’s house to play there. We often play at our local store, with our own group and pick up games with people from the surrounding area. We also play tournaments and leagues with people from the surrounding area. Never once have I seen a casual game played with gaining grounds schemes and strategies treated with the seriousness of a tournament.
  4. I started this game with Lilith. I do have Collodi, but I don’t really play him. I was never particularly interested in Lynch and never bought him. Losing Lilith hurts. However, I’m very keen to see where the story goes. With Nekima taking her place and Lilith currently sitting in the pit, there’s a lot of opportunity in the future to shake up Liliths playstyle. For example, I’d love to see her go Outcasts. Have her work in the shadows with subtlety like she’s supposed to to once again bring her sister down.
  5. Speaking of earlier faulting those who have lost masters not being helpful, neither is dismissing groups you don’t care to accept the opinions of as ‘basement groups’. We’re all in this together.
  6. I see people run the latest set of tournament scenarios but I never see people treat casual games as tournaments. That’s two very different things. TOs can say no, you can’t use Nicodem. Even casual games using Gaining Grounds I can’t imagine anyone will care if you run a Dead Mans Hand master.
  7. He will get a card - all current models will, but it’s tournament legality will be optional depending on the TOs decision.
  8. I find lining the eyes after painting the white to be counter productive. My method is to use a black wash (I use army painter dark tone) in the eye socket after laying down the flesh tone. Then paint a white strip horizontally through the middle, and then a short black stripe vertically down the middle of that. Then use your flesh tone to clean up around the eye where the wash was a bit heavy. If your white ends up being too long, then a bit of wash in that area will blend it back in. If your black ends up being a bit long, it gets hidden in the wash anyway. The wash itself gives a softer lined eye effect. I find just using black paint is too harsh.
  9. Kickstarter expectations are skewed by places like CMON that have all but replaced the retail channel with absurd amounts of freebies in the Kickstarter. Sure, you might see a few boxes on shelves in niche stores, but it was all about the Kickstarter if you want value. Wyrd were using Kickstarter to get the game to retail. Buying in to the Kickstarter was about helping launch the game rather than be the main point of sale. I went all in on Hordes. I knew that I’d be able to get it cheaper at my local stores with their discount. That wasn’t the point - I love the idea of the game, the miniatures are fantastic, and I wanted to help get it to retail so it has a chance to take off in my area.
  10. There’s no rhyme or reason behind the selection of alts. The first two general release alts, one was heavily requested (bigger Nekima more in line with her 1E sculpt) and one was completely out of left field (Hungering Darkness, who can’t even be fielded without buying the crew box that has the original).
  11. Dead Justice was a reward, was it not?
  12. Well, if you look at the cards, they’re very different to Malifaux cards. No wounds to track, abilities appearing or changing in Glory, different stats. That alone would be a big display overhaul. Then, there’s different conditions with different effects to track, plus the encounters are very different. It would probably be easier to make a separate app than shoehorn that into the existing app.
  13. We’ll find out during gencon. When they did additional sets in the past they had little flyers with the next sets.
  14. Graves and Tannen are definitely meant as the Neverborn hires.
  15. Well, he’s $20 not $25. Good point about the piglet - I never made the connection of the model being there meaning we’re probably getting a card for it. Lenny needs one for his upgrade to function properly and it always felt missing from the Somer starter. I was planning on getting alt Lenny anyway, so that’s a nice bonus.
  16. It’s almost like people have different opinions than you. Imagine that!
  17. TOS isn’t even going to be at gencon aside from demo games. Most likely conclusion is we might be getting a 2.5E or 3E. They didn’t say we weren’t getting a new book, just it’s moved to next year. That jump might be needed to prepare a new edition.
  18. Like those, they’re listed under ‘pre-release’ so I’m guessing yes.
  19. I love alt Tannen and Graves. I’m not a big Lynch fan so while I have them, I haven’t painted them yet because I find the aesthetic boring. Playing up their Nephilim and Woe characteristics was a good idea. Burly Nephilim Graves is great. But Tannen is fantastic and really uses the Malifaux creepy factor. The way the face is cracked around the escaping Sorrow and the legs are deflated like he was just a skin. Love them.
  20. We’re not going to see the cards early. Wyrd don’t do that. At best they’ll be in the next book, and on WargamesVault about 6 months after release.
  21. This is actually a good point. Wasn't Hamelin a prize set as well?
  22. Or, just maybe, Nathan thought it was a fun idea and we’re reading WAY too much into it.
  23. My guess is the massive slowdown on the development of the Malifaux app is due to the TOS app being currently built by the same guys.
  24. Well we also had someone last page say that people who buy this are... not sure I’m allowed to actually say it. This threads pretty far gone.
