Hello everyone I am new to Malifaux, and decide to have my first crew being Kirai and spirits friends. I plan to branch out to other ress, but I would Like to master one at a time. I would like some tips for playing and learning the game with kirai. So far I have the following: 1x Kirai 3x seishin 2x onryo 1x lost love 3x rotten belle 1x Ikiryo 1x Datsue Ba 3x The drowned I plan to pick up Izuma the armor and 2 more seishin. Also I know I need some gaki, and shikome once they become plastic. The goal is to get a 35ss crew and then move up to 50ss. Thanks for reading, and have a great day.

I think the perfect choice here for you, is Kirai. She works extremely well with the Ten Thunder faction(Yan Lo crew and Ikamu the armor especially) and does not really use much from other ress(maybe a nurse with a flesh construct). Kirai is a brutal master(summoner, very fast, hard to kill), but she is like most other ress: They're for supporting your crew, which has some of the best minion in the game. This way you get your fav master(90% of the hobby is painting and prep work), and then can start on the Ten thunder, which you also love. Overall all crew are balance, so pick what you like on model and lore wise.

1. I agree, GW need to relieve that there more objective then just killing each other(they are getting better in 40k and 30k) 2. Can not argue at all. 3. Disagree strongly about the community forum, I know alot of great forum for all GW games, even the dropped specialist game. Company wise GW is a dying giant looking for a fountain of youth. They may get with modern times and business, or die fighting every step. I really don't want GW to die, just adapt and grow with the market. Let us hope so. Anyway, plan to go to the locale shop and buy $60 worth for the free child mini. Probably will be the book and Izuma.

It is a hobby, I could be doing a lot of worse/illegal activities with my money and free time. Beside, I like the models, and plan to have a reds and ten thunder as my main. I strongly dislike all crews from the guild and gremlins (models not doing it). The arc have some crew i like(I love beast, so marcus is in, and stage girl crew is an instant pre order, cool concept). Outcast only like hamelin, and neverborn, I want to paint the guppies as gold fish. So two main fractions, and some side project, and those all are still cheaper then a 40k tournament army. BTW, when is malifaux getting dinosaurs?

I will probably pick up a mcmorning crew box once kirai crew painted and bought since nurses, constructs, and canine remains are a staple for many reds list. Also I like the guy. Yan lo my third plan master to get, he is awesome.

30k is forge world space marine army(similar to craft world elder book) set during the Horus Heresy. The army is probably the most expansive army to play in any tabletop. For ex: A simple tactical marine is only 10 pts, and can be in squads of 20. The down side, 5 marines cost $70. Its worth it, because forge world makes the greatest miniatures on the market. Back on topic So, I decide to get the rulebook $40 version, a fate deck, Kirai plastic crew, and a Izamu(I think he is better then a flesh construct with kirai). Once thats painted, I will get both arsenal deck, crossroads(its seem kirai and molly become bff). Then just wait for gaki and Shikome come out in plastic. Am I missing anything?

Hello everyone I have been a long time Warhammer(40k, 30k, and Fantasy) for about 7 years now. Lately, I have been displease with gw lately(9th ed rumors, treatment of customers, prices, and lack of communication), and wish to try out malifaux. It would be great to have a game were I only need 20 models with about $100 cost instead of 100 to 200 models for about $700 plus. So after some research, I fell in love with the Resurrectionists and ten Thunders. So another player was selling an old metal Kirai crew with, one lost love, 2 extra seishin, 3 rotten belle, and 3 the drowned, so I bought it. I really can't wait to get started. So here is some noobish question: 1. Which 2E rule book is a better value? One is bare bone rules for $15, but the other is $40 with back story. 2. What to buy? I plan to get the new plastic kirai crew set, fate deck, and Izuma the armor first. Also plan to get some gaki and two shikome once they become plastic. Am I missing anything? The aim is 35 ss for a start. 3. Any other general advice?
