  1. The Battle Standard in East Windsor, CT is starting a 24 person league!! 6 games over 12 weeks. So proud of this community. Lots of new people and lots of vets coming back out after COVID. Be on the lookout for an Oct tournament too!
  2. Which strategy/schemes are you using that into? It seems like a ton of work to get 2 5ss models out away from your crew, while no one else moved at all. Granted, I'm just going off of what you said, but seems like if you do like half that, get some poison on Brewmaster, and unpack a bit, it'd be more useful for the overall game.
  3. I've only tried it once, so I can't say I'm an expert, but I just find that summoning Whiskey Gamin is much more work than seems reasonable. You need to: Activate the Porkchop first, so it can drop a scrap Get at least poison 3-4 on Cooper, which is probably 2 activations Summon with an 8+ That's at least 2 activations and probably 3+ AP, just to get a Gamin. It just seems like one too many hoops to jump through. Maybe Sparks is worth the extra cost? His new "Now Yer Robot" seems to work well with a Gamin's Hard Slam That being said, would it be better to run a construct list with Mah? Sparks, Survivors, Porkchop, and I think the Golem is still worth 10+1. Maybe some Test Subjects. Everything has armor except for Mah and Sparks.
  4. I think I generally agree with this. I've only played a couple GG2 games so far though. The one change I'd make is to switch Mah and Zipp for Ley Lines. I think Mah can do a better job of moving the lodestone around and controlling the center than Zipp can. Mah, Big Brain, Test Subjects, Survivors can all be a pain to budge if they want to control the middle. So many of Zipp'smodels want to leap or fly, which they can't do with the stone. If I can't fly/ride with me, I'd much rather a 7pt Rooster Rider than a 7pt Iron Skeeter.
  5. Bump for March update. League was successful. Out of 5 games and 13 people, we only had 1 or 2 unfinished games!! Tournament probably coming in April.
  6. I usually do something like: Brewmaster & Apprentice Fingers or Popcorn Whiskey Golem 1 or 2 Moon Shinobi 1 or 2 Whiskey Gamin 1 or 2 Akaname Trixi or First Mate are solid choices too. Akaname are more important if you need to drop scheme markers, Fingers is more important if you're expecting a clump in the middle, while Popcorn is more important if you need to run on the outskirts. If you're expecting lots of hard to kill or serene countenance , Moon Shinobie are huge!
  7. I just got mine on Monday or Tuesday.
  8. Bump for December update. League has started with 16 people!! 10 week league with 5 games per person.
  9. I played Ophelia all three rounds of a tourney a month or so ago. It was her standard crew plus the First Mate and a Bokor. I think Raphael is a good schemer with Agile, and he can take out most squishy enemy schemers without much difficulty. Using the kids first turn to get three of your models an extra 5 or 6 inches a great use of them. She's definitely a flexible master and crew, and can go into pretty much anything (like others have said). They do have some significant weaknesses though. If your opponent is also playing Gremlins, they basically lose both Flinch and Bigger they are. Any crew with a lot of lower/average attacks and smaller models really reduces their staying power.
  10. I'll be running a HUGE ten-week Malifaux 3e league smashed between Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, Christmas, Festivus, New Years and many other holidays. One game recorded every two weeks. Each league game will be 50ss Gaining Grounds Season 0 strategies and schemes, set up ahead of time. Players pick a faction to use for the league and up to two masters from that faction. Possible secondary games for anyone who wants to play more during the league for bonus points or secondary prizes. More info at https://thebattlestandard.time.ly/event/malifaux-new-year-new-fauxs-league/
  11. Bump for November update. League starting soon ... look for a post sometime next week.
  12. Bump for October update. We should be starting a 4 to 5 week league in November!
  13. Thanks to all who came out! We had a nice 8 person, 3 round tournament! Another in early January probably.
  14. Wanted to add that we have trophies for the top three finishers (will post pics when I'm done with them) and we have prizes for the top in faction (that didn't get top three). We should have 8+ and so will be part of the US Fauxtour!! There's no painting requirement, and I'm planning on having a prize for best painted. Hope to see you there!
  15. Just bumping this. The tournament page has been created and I shared the Facebook post in Wyrd Place as well as New England Malifaux and CT Malifaux groups. https://thebattlestandard.time.ly/event/malifaux-octoberfaux-3rd-edition-tournament/

  17. A bit farther than Manchester, but The Battle Standard in East Windsor has Malifaux and other skirmish games on Mondays.
  18. Hey! Just wanted to add that The Battle Standard (4 Prospect Hill Rd, East Windsor, CT) has Malifaux on Monday nights. We usually have between 4 and 10 people playing Malifaux (and Guild Ball) starting around 5ish. The store has a Facebook page that people often post on looking for games. I'm the local Henchman, so hit me up if you need a demo or a game.
  19. Hey all, I'm Jesse, one of the Henchmen from CT that regularly plays at The Battle Standard in East Windsor, CT. Our Skirmish games night is Mondays, and Malifaux has definitely picked up. I'd say we have around 8 to 10 regular players and another 5 to 10 who play every so often! There's still usually one or two games going on each Monday, even though we just finished a 10 week league! I'm usually at the store on Mondays after 4pm until late, and will be happy to demo Malifaux for anyone interested. I'd also be happy to demo on different days, pending my availability. Hit me up here to give me a heads up or set up a time to come in! Happy Gaming, Jesse
  20. Really nice, vibrant colors on that Collodi crew. Great work overall.
  21. Really nice work. You've inspired me to try and get my Operation: Icestorm Pan-O started .... unfortunately, I have gobs of Wrath of Kings and Malifaux models to finish.
