  7. I shall be dropping by to show my local(roughly local) area some support!
  8. I do agree with this assessment. Aionus Will be useful, not only because of the markers , because the cheap bandits getting fast. Though, the other parts of Aionus won't come into effect so often(slowing and bury). Then there is his cost. Aionus would probably be a good pick versus some ressers or maybe arcanists. The envy with Parker , that is a fantastic idea. I Will now have to include him in the Parker paint scheme .
  9. I would put a gradient on them. Paint them completely normal on half.. Then have them transition into a a ghostly yellow or gold..that's using the sparkles.
  10. TLDR: What: Treacherous Ties tournament! Where: Games of Berkeley, Berkeley CA When: Saturday 7/30/2016 at 5 Fee: $5 Facebook: Event! Howdy ho Malifolks! I'm here to formally invite you all(on short notice I know) to a tournament at Games of Berkeley! We will be hosting a treacherous ties event at our store at 5 this upcoming Saturday at the store! For those that don't know what it involves, it will down below. We hope to see you then, or if not then maybe at one of our events in the future, including our new monthly tournaments. Treacherous Ties is a tournament version of Malifaux which encourages players to change up their playstyles and make some interesting new lists. It is perfect for a group which has a wide selection of models and is looking for something new. The key difference between Treacherous Ties and regular Malifaux is that the Crew’s Leader may not be from the same Faction as the rest of the Crew. Due to the cross Faction nature of this format, it may not be ideal for new players, but that could be overcome if veteran players are willing to loan them models and help them along. Restrictions Treacherous Ties is different from regular Malifaux in the following ways: • All Crews must be led by a Henchman, not a Master. • The game size is 25 Soulstones. • The only Henchman allowed in the Crew is the Leader. • The Crew must select two Factions: one Faction from which the Leader will be selected, and another from which the rest of the Crew will be selected. The Leader may not share a Faction with the Crew and none of the Crew may share a Faction with the Leader (for example: if the Leader was dual Faction Ten Thunders and Resurrectionists, the Faction from which the Crew is selected must not be Resurrectionists or Ten Thunders, and no member of the Crew may have Ten Thunders or Resurrectionists as a Faction). Upgrades are purchased from the Crew’s Faction and may be attached to the Leader as if they were a part of that Faction (for example: if the Crew’s Leader is an Arcanist and the Crew is Guild, only Guild Upgrades will be available, and the Leader will be able to attach them as if they belonged to the Guild). • The size of a Crew’s Soulstone Pool is limited by the Cache of the Henchman leading it; any Soulstones above this amount are discarded. • Each Crew may only select one Scheme from the Scheme Pool. • Schemes may not be revealed at the start of the game. • The same Crew must be used in each round of the event. Set Up All rounds use the following set up: • Deployment: Close. • Strategy: Treacherous Headhunter. This Strategy uses the Headhunter rules (see Gaining Grounds) with the exception that VP may be scored on the first Turn. • Scheme Pool: o Plant Explosives (Core Rulebook pg. 70) o Treacherous A Line In the Sand: This Scheme uses the A Line In The Sand rules (Core Rulebook pg. 68) with the modifications that it may not be revealed at the start of the game, and the Crew scores 1 VP for each Scheme Marker on the Centerline of the board at the end of the game (up to a max of 3 VP). Note: Remember that Schemes may not be revealed at the start of the game and each Crew may only select one Scheme. Tournament Rules Use Gaining Grounds to determine pairings and score the event to determine the winner. Only the round times are different from the Gaining Grounds tournament standard: • All round times are 45 minutes.

  15. All of these are good advice. I personally have not tried Jack vs Ramos. However Hamelin with his obey upgrade(piper I believe) is I think the best. Also his aura charge denial is fantastic against Ramos themed. So the obey. It's awesome because You can target a spider and easily cause it to blow itself up. The rest of Hamelin is great , with rats you won't be out activated. A Rat King and some catchers can be havoc. 1 charge a blight spider, spray of filth, charge another, reactivate etc. Another option: Viktoria The viks are Great against crowds. Lots of armor denial whirlwinds .. Toss in tealor and Vanessa with Lazarus then nothing will survive.

  17. I want my donkey rider! On topic. That onecame out. Better than I thought it could, now the horror of waiting for the release of it
  18. I tried out the Jack Daw campaign crew. Though what with most of his crew being tormented..it was odd. Couldn't buy any nurses!! What I did was get Wrath and then build my collection of crossroads until I got Jack. Worked pretty well. Got a lot of versatility out of it then saved stones for his upgrades. Viktoria or blood is a good idea to take early in a campaign. Sure you have to pay for her later but having her early lets you get some of the stupid awesome campaign upgrades for her. Leap.. Coffee... Extended blades... Etc etc.
  19. If you want to play some more games of malifaux, maybe try out that hardcore crew before the awesome tournament or buy some models you're missing come on down to Games of Berkeley Thursday the 10th! Anytime after 1! We'll be there till around 8!
  20. In fact I didn't ask for the good ones or for the best ones I just would like something that doesn't remain flat in term of play style/mechanic. I really would like to try Jack Daw, even if everybody says that it is hard to play. so master that are cool and variable and never straightforward. A master where you'll never have to approach the same situation in the exact same way. Someone who the opponent will never be sure about... well you hit it on the head. Jack Daw is it. He is a very tricky master who has a huge hiring pool. I love Von Schill but he's the (not easiest) most solid master I've played. He's not flashy but he's great, ESPECIALLY the specialist. His crew are all pretty strong pretty self sufficient people who shine when they're synergizing. Jack Daw. The enemy will have a hard time pinning you down. Jack is fast and his crew is tricky. With his hiring pool , you'll be buying alot of models but you'll never be lost for options. He's the kind of master that you need to think about your moves turns in advance because the parts in his tormented machine need to run carefully. oh! Tara. She's a awesomely tricky one. Sooo much extra AP. Activation order is key with her. Lots of hand management with her thematic crew and condition placement. Hamlin is another good one. Hamelin is a complicated master as well. Very condition based. He has hordes of weak models that you need to turn into efficient death machines. He's just fun...yet he's a negative play environment on a card. It's easy to get annoyed at him.
  21. TLDR: Date 10/8/2015 Time: 1pm-9pm Events: Nythera Campaign, Learn to Play Campaign Day: Week 5!(join on right in, we love more people) Howdy ho my friendly Malifolks! Metal models on sale! Good travels my friends! Come on down and we'll see you on the other side of the breach my friends. (this time I got the date right!)
  22. I love Jack Daw, Montessor and the lady. I'm just having trouble picturing the guilty moving. Do they float? Do they trundle about clacking? however I will say that I absolutely love them after a couple games. I initially didn't like them but their game mechanics endeared me to them. Also... The new jack is just so much better than the original one. He actually looks like something to be scared of.
  23. TLDR: Date: 9/10/2015 Time: 1pm - 9pm Events: Nythera Campaign Campaign Day: Week 3!(though please join right in at any stage!) Howdy ho my friendly Malifolks! Come one and come all to the Games of Berkeley! Right across the street from the Downtown Berkeley BART station this Thursday!(September 10th) at 1pm all the way till 9 to join in on the fun! Play some Malifaux with a fun loving and passionate group. Are you new? We've got plenty of space and I would personally love to show you the gallows(...because.. ropes.. and Jack Daw just came out...). Already know how to play? Well come on in and get some games in. Play the campaign or get a normal game in if you don't wanna join in on that awesome fun. Don't play the campaign yet? Well what's keeping you. Come on down and jump right in. No matter how far along you are you can always jump in and the campaign does a great job of balancing itself out. At this point you would start with a 45 SS arsenal. Join as any faction, we will have people for you to play. Want to grow you collection? Well.. that's a silly question of course you do. We've got all manners of things in stock at Games of Berkeley, by far the most comprehensive collection anywhere near a BART stop. Metal models 50% off! 24. yeah,If he was tougher he would be pretty broken. Though my friend did give me the good idea of just using him to drag people into your own models for melee. So... that's something.
