  1. There are still open slots! We unfortunately had to change the venue, so I am not certain if there are hotels nearby the new one. But there are many in town.
  2. The Malifaux capital of Norway presents the very first Nidaros Grand Tournament! Where: Lager 11 (https://lager11.no/) in Trondheim, Norway When: July 1st to 2nd 2023 What: 50ss single master Gaining Grounds 3, five rounds. For complete ruleset see www.nidarosgrandtournament.no What else: This is probably the best ever tournament scene we've had in Trondheim, with access to a great selection of food and drink during the whole weekend. There is a good hotel nearby. In addition to Malifaux, there will simultaneously be tournaments in Warhammer 40K and Age of Sigmar. Entry fee is 350 NOK. Foreigners without access to Vipps can pay by PayPal or other means, please contact me to secure your spot. Initially we have room for 16 players, but if it sells out, we will look into opening more. Yes, there will be prizes! Everyone are welcome!
  3. Norway Open returns to the Malifaux capital of Norway! Where: Charlottenlund videregående skole in Trondheim When: October 16th and 17th 2021 What: 50ss single master Gaining Grounds 2, five rounds. For complete ruleset see https://docs.google.com/document/d/1jO3eK2u07d4ZQ5E5m8jkAXmI4lZRQmQsLo_7qtr2s4Q/edit?usp=sharing What else: There is potentially a minitournament or social event on Friday night, depending on the wishes of the participants. Ask, and we will provide. Entry fee is 150 NOK. We have room for lots of players, but we'll probably start running low on terrain if we get close to 30. Everyone are welcome! (provided travel restrictions allow, of course) Current sponsors are: Wyrd Games golem.no For updates and more info see https://www.facebook.com/events/256284906341789
  4. Probably tonight, Euro-time. But any time from now to really late is possible.
  5. Only if you can find a M2E box, else you have to buy him with the shamans.
  6. This is because English native speakers hate commas. Scoffer is right (I was just studying the card myself).
  7. When: Saturday February 22nd, 12:00 Where: Outland Trondheim, third floor gaming room What: This is Wartrond's demo day, and multiple games will be displayed. Naturally, Malifaux will be among them! For the occasion, we run a bunch of games and take our time to lure in some newbies. Bring your best-looking miniatures and show people why Malifaux is the best game! For more info and updates, see: https://www.facebook.com/events/186691642710177/
  8. Time for the first Malifaux tournament for 2020 in Trondheim! Taking it chill with some slow paced Henchman Hardcore this time. Place: Work Work, Trondheim (Munkegata 58) Time: Saturday January 25th, doors open at noon What: Henchman Hardcore, three rounds. Each round lasts one hour. No Effigy of Fate upgrade allowed. No entrance fee or prizes, but for the first round, if you do not field a fully painted crew, you need to buy a round for your opponent. Other than this, standard Gaining Grounds S0 rules apply. Please secure your spots (on Facebook, https://www.facebook.com/events/1028263010850759/, or message me), since we want to avoid transporting more terrain than we have to. We have room for everyone, so I will open more spots if we sell out. Also please volunteer to help me carry terrain!
  9. No Prisoner needs a lift - it doesn't do anything useful. I have never seen anyone take it. Completely agree with above notes on Orderly and Heartsbane. Enslaved Nephilim might be the worst totem in the game (see the discussion where several people would rather want a pass token and a card from heroic gamble). Instead of a Obey that is way too hard to cast, it should have abilities that synergise with the rest of the keyword. Like triggering A Por El regardless of cost, triggering Grit on others. Spotter (or better yet, a "reversed" spotter where it can let other models benefit from auras regardless of range). Nino seems slightly overcosted - but not a full stone, so a little boost might be nice. +1 def or move? Frank never seems to deliver the punch that henchmen of a similar cost in other factions have. Pistoleros are a never take. They need to be able to actually do something useful. As several people mentioned, Into the Cage on Brutal Emissary should have an extra effect (or at least a built in trigger) to make it useful. I'd love it if Sonnia got Def 5. I'd also love a tome on her Def. Thalarian Queller could also need a lift. At this moment, I do not feel that he can do anything other models cannot do better. Being able to Counterspell at a greater distance springs to mind. A melee attack would be good. I didn't start the fire not reducing burning would be great. Samael seems lacking and overcosted, similar models in other factions do way more (i.e. Rusty Alice). Risk of Reason on Judge seems harsh now. Either let them keep the tomes or reduce the damage. I never played Dashel but that his summoning is nothing compared to other summoners is clear to me. Frontiermen are a never take to me. Austringers seem overcosted. And yeah - Pale Rider might be powerful right now, but if he gets a significant nerf, Guild is left with more or less nothing. To me, he feels like a crutch model, not something overpowered. It feels as if we are really lacking in clever tricks, ways to remove downsides, and movement capabilities compared to others, and this shows in tournament stats. If Guild is to be able to compete, they need a lift.
  10. Oooh, I really like this bit. This might well be a thing in my next campaign.
  11. There are a few models that are downright broken and needs a tweak (Stitched Together springs to mind). But many more deserve a boost. Also - nerfs make people unhappy and angry. Boosts generally make people happy.
  12. Here's a big +1 to upgrading bad models before nerfing too good models. There are still a bunch of models there is NO point what so ever to take.
  13. Like the two two previous years, we put our bells and glitter on and go for some casual All Out Brawl! We play as many rounds as we have time for. Please give a holler if you intend to come, in case we need to bring more terrain. Unfortunately, no prizes, since everything was given away at Norway Open Special rule: If you do not field a fully painted model, you buy a drink for a player who does! Where: Work Work Bar - Munkegata 58, Trondheim, Norway When: Noon Saturday 7th December 2019 More info: https://www.facebook.com/events/471130296777345/
  14. Another all Out Brawl question: Can upgrades be purchased?
  15. One more thing, before I forget: If you have never before been to the Outland Trondheim game room, it is on the third floor. To get there, you need to go upstairs, then all the way left to the roleplaying games. To the right there is a white door with a stairway behind it. Go up and keep to the left. If you have trouble finding your way, ask an employee or PM me. I will probably be there early to start setting up.
  16. At this point there are only 13 people signed up (people that paid or told me they booked trips), but I know there are some bubblers, so we might yet reach 16. Also, if we are just under, but the majority of people want five rounds, I see no reason not to do five rounds anyway.
  17. Some random information as we approach the big day!
 Snacks and Drinks
Outland sells some drinks and snacks, but the selection is limited. Sunday they will be closed for sales. There are kiosks and several restaurants nearby that sell almost anything you want, and if your game runs late and you do not have the time to run out, my son, Odin, will probably be around a lot of the time and be able to run errands for a small fee.
Dinner Saturday We will most likely head to Bror Bar, since it is close to the venue, the food is good and the beer selection nice. The place is often crowded on Saturdays, so if you want to join, leave a comment. If we are ten people, we can book a table.
Widgets The widgets sets are almost ready - I’ll be doing finishing touches on them tonight! We have enough for everyone who already signed up, plus a few spares. If you intend to come but did not say so, leave a note so that we can make certain that we have enough for anyone! Check out the picture above, they are great! Entrance The venue will lend us keys. I cannot both mind the door, set up tables and register people, so it is great if at least one person can show up early and mind the door. Sunday we need to apply a little elbow grease when people go outside to smoke/shop/whatever, since the store is closed.
  18. It is getting closer, and widget sets are almost ready!
  19. Encounters have now been added! Sorry that I didn't do it sooner, but I am at a conference. They are in the rules document.
  20. Pretty sweet to charge into a crowd with a Black Blood model, hit it, damage a bunch of models including yourself and score four or five points
  21. All Out Brawl question: So... any and all models? Including the model itself? That is fun
  22. Rule set is ready, we even got Gaining Grounds in time for the event! https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Acy1ZFiou3lY9YeJ_OG_7ElxFbyyE80TS0CUMcs_d3I/edit?usp=sharing
  23. I am available to demo Malifaux or The Other Side at nearly any times if asked in advance - preferred location is the new Outland Trondheim gaming attic, but it is also possible to get a game going at Work-Work if you feel like having a pint while playing! On Tuesdays Wartrond has its club night at the Outlands gaming attic, and Thursdays have become a regular Malifaux night. I will be there must Thursdays, as will other players, so this is the best time to ask for a demo on the fly. If given at least a week notice I can also demo Through the Breach ! Remember that Saturday 19th is the second Breach of the Month tournament! We have loads of great prizes so come play! Even more importantly, November 22nd - 24th is NORWAY OPEN! Seems like we'll be getting a lot of visitors, so you cannot miss out on this!
  24. So many people coming! At the start of October, I'll be getting my life back and can start translating information to English. Full and final ruleset will be posted on November 1st, I'll try to get more practical info out before then. Scenarios will be posted on November 11th!
  25. The totem is free, why would you leave it? The push is good, even though it doesn't do much else. I agree that the rider seems really good. Frank is decent, but he falls behind a lot.
