  1. I run Tara Timeless with two prospectors as a matter of course.
  2. Two Places At Once has a bunch of weird edge cases. It can be extremely impactful. A gun with Hole in the World is always great, and 2/3/5 with a positive to damage is nothing to sneeze at.
  3. 33 is an incredibly useful tech piece now rather than a game definitely monster. I'd still take her every time with Tara.
  4. I just think models should have weaknesses. Alyce is in a good place. She's very impactful if you use her well, but there's counterplay available.
  5. Pathfinders, RoughRiders, Reichart, Sandworm... Are you thinking you'll play him in Guild or Explorers?
  6. I can't argue with experience. Just looking at the cards I think it's the approach that gets you the closest to making a game of it, but I've watched a couple of BadFaux Haku's videos and the amount of card draw/filtering is truly oppressive.
  7. Again, I'd go with declaring your most condition heavy master to push them towards Unbound, then play wide to minimize blasting, and approach him the way you'd approach Leveticus. Kill the backline, kill the scoring models, try to waste their high-impact AP. I have no idea how to beat Aspirant except to blow him up with focused guns ASAP.
  8. Fair enough. Armor +1 just isn't something I bother teching for, it's easy enough to spike down.
  9. I'm probably running Sonnia, to encourage picking Unbound. Then going full-on trigger hate. 2x Spelleaters, 2x Quellers, llc on Sonnia and Sam, one model flex... Just a theory.
  10. I'll say, wardens are a lot of fun with original Flavor Lucius. Your opponent is unlikely to bring a lot of armor tech and you can really get the most out of their ranged slow.
  11. Since In Your Face exists I knocked together a silly list... Libre 777 (Guild) Size: 50 - Pool: 3 Leader: Sonnia Criid, Unmasked Totem(s): Purifying Flame Hires: Spelleater Lead-Lined Coat Spelleater 2 Lead-Lined Coat Witchling Handler Nino Ortega Greed Guild Mage Should probably drop Greed for any 7ss minion though.
  12. Oh, you're almost certainly right. Transmortis is a keyword with nothing but strengths so I have no interest in it but it'd get way overplayed in keyword limited tournaments. I don't really care about running the same crew every game. If I've got the third best tool for the job and I have to make it work that's going to create a totally unique game shape. You get the best stories when the characters involved have clear strengths, weaknesses, and motivations and I feel like you get the most interesting games from the same ingredients.
  13. That's almost verbatim my argument as to why ook hiring should be limited/eliminated. "Optimized" crews make for boring games - in my opinion.
  14. There are also times when the discard-to-cheat aura is game changing. And sometimes a chump model with 3ap can lock in a point and swing a game.
  15. I would let you do it for sure. I don't think it has come up for me somehow!
  16. Oh, I love the rest of the keyword, but the title is a super boring kidnap+murder bot. Imo.
  17. I'm kinda glad I don't like his title at all - side from that free action pull I guess. Makes me regret it less that I can't get the keyword.
  18. Sonnia Unmasked has a ton of flexibility but it comes at the cost of raw power. You're right that Confiscated Lore isn't always the right first action (though it often is). You really have to figure out what pressure points she leans on in a given turn.
  19. I'd be sure to base Justice on a 40mm so that you run her as Death Touched. You're much happier running three Marshals that way.
  20. The number one thing I value in high-investment models is the ability to switch gears and have high-impact activations regardless of what I have in hand. All Sam needs is a 5 and another weak and he will get meaningful work done fighting. If you don't even have that all he needs is a 5 to interact 12" away or interact twice. Yes, he's squishy, but I rarely lose him because he kites so well.
  21. Card draw, terrain mitigation, target selection. Ability to ignore armor/terrifying, though I'd argue she's fine at both of those (two models in keyword ignore armor, wp is pretty good). More cynically; plays well with the Pale Rider, Lone Marshall, Steward, and Lawyer.
  22. I'll say, having played a couple more games now, she has no problem killing things in her crew. She can't really dive effectively and has trouble scalpeling, but anything that comes in on her gets slow/distracted/stunned or just melts. The crew does a lot of things obliquely and you need to predict where scoring is going to happen and get there, but it's definitely got play.
  23. He's a 4ap shooter, mv 6, unimpeded. There are very few games he isn't my MVP.
  24. I don't actually own Thralls! I have a metal handler and haven't found myself wanting more of them so I never bought the box. I ran one once on vassal with llc and it face-tanked an Asami crew for a turn before blowing up on everybody but that's my only experience with it.
  25. Her summon needs to not do ~3ap worth of work in addition to summoning a model before I'm comfortable bringing her. Her card draw is unnecessarily efficient too, but it's probably fine in a situation where her summon is toned down a half step.
