  1. Call it meditation! And now it's almost a philosophy. I wish I had results like yours 😉
  2. @Athiko the result is pretty nice indeed. I dont listen to anything while I paint by the way ☹️ I used to. I even had stupid routines like @Burnin' Coal's (the routine, not you Ed 😉). But, with the kids now, I need to wait for windows of opportunity. Sometimes my painting sessions last for 10 minutes. I cannot spend time setting up each time, otherwise I would clearly never paint. It's funny because I hadnt realized it was like this for me now until I read your posts. I felt identified when I read your experiences. Then I realized how many painting sessions I had yesterday... @Viruk I love the armour on your samurais, especially the guy on the left. Is this NMM? Or did you use @Purple Mist's paint?
  3. Did I say purple? Well I am kind of a lunatic. I went for yellow, the exact opposite on the colour wheel... Here is a WIP of my intents to weathering:
  4. Hello I did some quick drybrush on the peacekeeper to have a rusty base to work with: Given that this contains mostly oranges and that I'll probably do a swamp base (greens), I'm wondering if I should complete it with some purple instead of the hazard stripes (thanks @nicodemus for letting me know about the terms). What do you guys think? I had a look at @Viruk's peacekeeper---which is very cool by the way. An option could be to do something similar with purple instead of red, some rust and a swamp base: http://www.whatthefaux.net/2016/01/peacekeeper.html?m=1
  5. I'm not a 40k player either, but on the following minis I see some of the yellow and black pattern I was referring too. The thing is that I'm afraid of doing something wrong with the stripes:
  6. I think I'll start with a quick job on this one: Do you guys know a tutorial on how to do the popular yellow-black orkish 40k style I could apply on this robot? You see what I mean?
  7. This is exactly why I'm not painting my other Cerberus this month 😊 @Viruk your Marcus crew is looking great so far.
  8. Thanks @misterfinn. As always I like how you place your lights. Mz Deed turned great. To be honest I dont like how I painted the molotov on my model. It looks more metalic than glass. If somebody has a cool recipe to paint bottles, I'd appreciate if it could shared.
  9. @Caedrus I finished Fitzsimmons for 8ss, meaning that I will have painted 22 stones in March: Before you claim that the highlights in the back are amazing, let me tell you that there are some actual reflexion of light from my lamp. Sorry for the bad quality of the picture. And just because @misterfinn asked, here are some better (I hope) pictures of Mouse:
  10. Congrats!!! 🎉🎊🎇 Which mini(s) did you use?
  11. @Caedrus thanks a lot for the kind words. I should be able to finish Fitzsimmons before the end of the month. I'll let you know when it is done.
  12. Cant we do this already in the beta threads?
  13. @emiba Ikiryo and Onryo look very promising. I'm looking forward to seeing more. I hope everything is good for you in Christchurch and things are not as ugly as the news suggest. Between an earthquake and the recent stuff, it doesn't sound like any city!
  14. @misterfinn Thanks for the kind words. I'll try to get a better picture of Mouse. I wasn't particularly proud of the paint job to be honest but I'll do it. Maybe there is a reason the picture is a bit out of focus For Ryle base, it is a simple recipe. I first painted the base in a dark green (GW Caliban green in particular). Then I pasted some tufts and sand here and there. Then I used @Viruk's mixture of GW Nurgle's Rot and Vallejo Still water. I may have put two or three coats (you have to wait each coat to dry before applying the next one, i.e. it is a simple recipe but it is not quick). Each coat has in proportion more still water than the previous one. Finally I put a pure coat of still water.
  15. I started working on Fitz some days ago. I've only set some basic colours so far and have the base more or less done. Here is a WIP picture: Hopefully I'll manage to finish him by the end of the month. @Caedrus the smooth transitions on the acolytes are pretty nice. I remember when you started working on one last year I believe, when you started using an airbrush. Are these transitions on the cloth done 100% with an airbrush? Or did you use a normal brush as well?
  16. The fluff part needs to be really good for me to buy these books. I remember Games Workshops army book where the fluff was a joke. You had pictures of nicely painted minis, but that was basically it. I am really looking forward to more depth into Malifaux lore. I will probably start by buying the Arcanist and Guild books. If I like them I'll go on with the rest of the books (ressurs, outcast etc... Gremlins)
  17. And I'll consider the little guy done for 4ss: @Caedrus this puts me at 14 ss for March do far.
  18. Uuuuh... @Purple Mist you're not going to like this one either. I've started working on Mouse:
  19. @Viruk thanks a lot. Here it goes. Ryle for 10ss:
  20. @Caedrus I painted Ryle for 10 ss. I wanted to upload pictures but I am having issues with my photobucket account. Can someone recommend me another way to post pictures on the forum?
  21. @PetitDalek This Molly is à s'taper l'cul par terre! @Caedrus I very much like how you painted the feathers on the vulture
  22. I've just updated details int he post above about fee, encounter size, strat and schemes and some other details.
