That boat is big, but does look fun to play on.
Maybe some fallen trees/logs to create walls to obstruct movement as the smaller pieces don't seem like they would hinder a crew's movement much.

I use a way of making craters that’s super easy and cheap. It uses the aluminium trays from the bottom of meat pies or xmas mince pies. You then flip it over and crush the foil to make a crater shape. Then you have a perfect mold to pour in plaster. 
I’ll get a photo next time I’m in the workshop to show you what I mean if my description is confusing.

Greeting all! Looking for something to do while locked inside self-isolating, and bored of painting minis? Why not a game of Malifaux...

(TLDR: rules for playing Malifaux by yourself)

This is a little something I have been working on for quite some time as I just don't get the opportunity to play with other people very often any more. 

I've seen other games use an 'Artificial Intelligence' to control models and allow you to play against yourself, so I thought I'd have a go at building an AI to use in a game of Malifaux. This ended up being a lot more intricate than I had originally thought.

So how to use this AI.

Firstly set up your game choosing your crew, the AI crew, deployment zones, schemes/strategies etc.

When an enemy (AI) model needs to activate or do any sort of action or interaction with other models refer to the AI rules.

Start at the top of the relevant list and attempt to answer the questions. If the answer is yes, resolve the text to the right of the question. 

If the answer to the question is 'No' move to the next question.

Keep moving down the questions till the action is resolved.

With all that lovely scatter for Teddy to play with he needs somewhere to keep his fur dry when it rains. So I built him an Arboretum that he can grow flowers and play hide and seek in. Teddy is very happy now, you should see the smile on his face.

It's been very quiet in this tread, so here is a little something I recently finished. I wanted a display for my starter set that I can use to display the models in between demos and during tournaments.

It's been some time since I updated my blog... Somehow personal life just seems to get in the way...
So here is a few little tidbits that I have been working on:

Teddy wants to go for a journey through time and space!

Nobody told Teddy he would have to water the flowers... Now they are all gone.

Teddy wants his friends to sit with him, but now that he has hugged all of them they have all gone home.

Spring is here and that means it's time to prepare for the Australian Malifaux Nationals at Cancon 2019.

The Australian Malifaux Nationals is an annual event held during CanCon in the wonderful city of Canberra. It is Australia's (2nd) largest and most diverse tournament in Australia and is a great chance to test your skill against a broad range of players from all around the country. The Nationals are for both beginner and experienced players alike.

Date: 26th - 27th Jan 2019

This is a really cool idea, I will have to agree with you about it only being for demos as it poses a problem when determining 'corners' for certain schemes and strategies. You could however write some house rules to get around this though..

They soak in a little, but you have to touch up the cut edges.

Combination of paddlepop sticks (coffee stirrer for all you statesiders) and balsa.

It's black acrylic with a small amount of either green or yellow ochre added to it and watered down to a very thin wash, then the wood is soaked in batches of the different washes so that they all have a different hue. This is all done before construction, then just mix them up and you build.

I have plans to add some whinches to the warehouses for this exact purpose, but I'm sure that could be a cool addition to the other buildings too.

So I think it's time for an update, January has been a busy time organising the Australian Malifaux Nationals, with the highlight (for me at least) was the creation of our custom Supply Wagons for use with Gaining Grounds 2018.

The quarantine table took a bit of a step back while I frantically worked on a demo board to use at the Nationals, the idea being that I utilise the weatherboard Victorian house from my first post onto a small 18" x 18" table for use with Henchman hardcore/Demos.

There is still lots that I want to finish; more ground cover, quick reference in the grey set-up sections. The table had a game of Henchman hardcore on it and it worked really well, but there are some major bottle necks through the house that need to be addressed. So it's time to make some more doors and holes in the walls.

And lastly, I've gotten back to the quarantine board, staining of the wood elements begins:

Looks great, what about painting them with a marble look?

Yep for single day entry as well. You just need to purchase a ticket ASAP (my cut off to send the designs to the printer is Sunday evening). Everyone who has bought a ticket by then will get the tokens and wagon included.

Yep, run annually and my plans for 2019 should be even more epic. 

I find that hazardous terrain is most important for lures, pushes and causing bottlenecks. 

If you take the Mysterious Emmissary's Hungry land ability it places a 50mm hazardous terrain marker, with a 3" 'threat' radius. Using this as a guide I wouldn't go larger than 6"-7" across and no smaller than 50mm.
