  1. My search-fu must be weak indeed. What is the procedure for obtaining the rules download for the starter set? Thanks,
  2. Thanks for the replies. I can't remember the exact wording on Pine box, but believe it is until the burying model is removed from play, takes the action again or fails the WP duel at the beginning of their activation. If Tara/Hannah do not borrow the action again, the only way their buried model will get to activate is until Tara/Hannah is removed from play or fails the WP duel. Much like burying Francisco or Papa Loco, the buried model will never "activate" and will be effectively out of the game (barring a WP test each activation or death of Tara/Hannah). It shouldn't affect the Death Marshal's ability to bury another model since it was only copying the action from their card, not forcing the Death Marshal to take the action, but would prohibit Tara from burying another model due to the way her abilities are worded. If the model was an important model in your opponent's plans, you could mess things up. Highly situational, but a pain in the arse if it works. I don't currently have Hannah ready to play, but can see how that would be much more effective and will keep it in mind. Thanks Jordon.
  3. I've just started to play Tara and have about 5 games under my belt with her. I was wondering if anyone ever had this situation come up. I have not, just something that I thought about. Could a Death Marshal bury another Death Marshal (or be buried through Glimpse the Void) and Tara use her 1 action on Eternal Journey to Pine Box an enemy model effectively taking it out of the game unless she fails a WP check at activation or dies? Granted, she wouldn't be able to bury another model with Glimpse the Void, but no longer has to worry about models dying and unburying the model. Just let the void wretches eat their fill over a few turns and call it done.
  4. I've got 4 metal ones already. With these 3, I'll have a nice core for a Collodi crew. Take some upgrades, a Brutal effigy and some effigies to be summoned and I'll have a nice little crew. My other master is Lynch, so I'm a happy feller!
  5. I have found that having even one archer with Blot the Sky has a tremendous impact on the game - the psychological effect is nothing to sneeze at. So far I have used them successfully with Lynch and Yan Lo (Toshiro). Blot the Sky on Lynch from behind cover and when something get near, destroy it in a single activation. Also Yamaziko is a great Archer platform, protecting them from getting charge and engaging from a long distance (for melee). Sidir can also babysit them and even jump to their aid once per turn. Also, if you have McGabe, you can toss them the Saber and the Archers can FINALLY charge. Haven't tried babysitting them with Huggy yet as I often run him apart from most of the crew to either run schemes or rush into the enemy ranks, but the idea is intersting . Other models that discard a card - Torakage for Rapid Fire, Oiran for defensive, Fuhatsu and Sidir for self-heal, Lazarus for Auto-Fire (probably missing some things still). Also models that have many + or - flips during their activation have a better chance to pick up an ace for Lynch. Thanks Eclipse. I figured most people would try and attack Huggy before trying to go the 3 inches around him to attack the archers. Plus his base would block their base. they essentially become additional attacks on whatever he is attacking or a deterent to whatever is coming to support the forward model. I am trying to paint 50 ss worth of models for an upcoming tournament. Just finishing up the Illuminated this week. After that I will start trying to cycle some of those models in and let you now how I do. I think Sidir or Fuhatsu would work well with the archer as well. In a practice game this week I had 2 torakage. While I didn't use their shuriken much, they were able to skirt the edges and got me the 3 pts for power ritual while Hungering Darkness, lynch and a few monks of low river held the center in a guard the stash scenario. Monks of low river didn't last as long as I would have liked against Rasputina, but I am trying out different builds while I get the "boxset lynch" models finished up. Now I have 2 stiched together done as well, so things should be a little more interesting at least.
  6. Ah, like I said, no book with me to look at the rules for charging. Thanks for the info.
  7. Couldn't you charge one of your own models? Since they don't have attack, they won't cause any damage, but it would be a quick way to move 8". Unless charge actions can only be declared against enemy models. I don't have the book with me to check.
  8. Sorry to hijack the thread a bit, but has anyone had success with Archers with Lynch? I could see potential with Blot the Sky on Huggy, have a few archers following him around as support. His large base blocks them, they can support while he is engaged and once Huggy goes down they can use their 8 inch charge to retreat to the main group without causing any damage to your model until Lynch can bring Huggy back. They also benefit from Ace in the Hole with Rapid Fire. Seems like they would work well with him. I am trying to get a 10T Lynch list that takes advantage of Ace in the Hole as much as possible. Thinking Archers, Brothers, possibly High River Monks, Wastrels. Not sure what else uses a card discard.
  9. 1873. :/ Hopefully it will go out sometime soon.
  10. Crush_Jansen, I followed your lead. +1 Jerkface as well.

    Gen Con 2015

    Two Wong's...that's alright. :)
  12. Nothing to see here, please move along. Thanks, I have the miniatures.
  13. A little late to the party but I was thinking along the same lines as Adran about the Haze. In reading the story the Haze seems to be the driving force behind the whole crew, much more than any one character. I was thinking that a stackable condition would be a good way to represent it with each character interacting differently with the effect. Each model (with the exception of Cooper) could have a zero action "Hazed and Confused" that is only available when they are within 18 inches of Cooper. The reason why I chose 18" is because the table is 36 inches and since Cooper is the ring leader, he should be "center stage" for maximum reach for the Haze to spread. The effect would grant the Hazed +1 condition to all enemy models within a certain Pulse effect distance of the performer, say 6 or 9 inches. The smaller area of effect is the fact that the enemy models are watching this specific performers act. The enemy models can only get the Hazed condition once per turn, but the effect can stack. This way it represents that the longer the performance (game) lasts, the more apt the watcher is to be enthralled. The Hazed condition can reduce the Wp by 1 for each point of Hazed the model has, but the Dark Carnival performers can use the Hazed condition for bonuses to hit/damage/some other effect specific to that Carnival model. When the performer uses the bonus it reduces the Hazed condition by whatever amount they used to fuel their Hazed action. By making it a condition, the opposing player doesn't feel like there isn't anything he could do to prevent the effects. Make a 1 interact action "Snap out of it" that will reduce the Hazed condition by 1. This would represent during the story when the father was being pulled out of the effects as his son bumped into him. I would also make the MI attacks of the crew go against willpower instead of defense. This way the Dark Carnival player has to decide if he would rather get the bonus from the Hazed condition coming off of the other players WP or gain the bonus effect that is available to that specific Carnival model. Plus it represents the willingness of the observers to allow themselves to be hurt. In the story the father noticed that audience members were getting stabbed and didn't seem to care. There was another poster who discussed an ability of Cooper called "Freely Given". I think that was a great idea, but a little too powerful off the bat. I would say that when the enemy uses a soulstone, Cooper would be able to draw a card, or draw two and discard one card. Something along those lines. Maybe make an upgrade that interacts with the Hazed condition, so that eventually (instead of a card) Cooper could get a stone when the enemy spends one, but only if the model that uses the stone has a certain level of Haze on them. Eventually the father did give up his son. I think that the Haze should be the foundation though since it was the driving force behind the narrative of the story.
  14. Mere details. At this point I call it close enough.
  15. It's on the FedEx truck and should be home when I get home from work. Finally get to play Leveticus!
  16. Sweet. There is a joke in there about packages being delivered, but I can't get it exactly right... Although at the very least, when you are on your deathbed you will achieve total enlightenment. (It's a CaddyShack reference that popped in my head after you said "so I got that going for me...")
  17. I received a shipping notice this morning and am wondering about that too St. Zondo XXIII. Hoping for the best and we'll see how quickly FedEx gets it too me.
  18. I got spoiled with my Gencon Order. Got it in about a week. So far I've gotten (to use the words of Yukon Cornelius) "Nuttin'!". My status has not been updated yet, nor have I gotten anything beyond the initial confirmation email so far. I know it takes time, just anxious to get my toys. Plus I don't want to be stuck on the Island of Misfit proxies. I apologize for all of the Rudolph references. The "Santa Claws" Executioner has gotten me in the holiday spirit.
  19. I just started my first trade on the forum and so far it has gone really well. I was wondering if it would be possible to start a thread for positive references. I think a simple solution would be for each member to post a message in that thread and whenever a trade is completed, the other member would "like" that message. You would only have to post one message and with each trade the other party could like that post. It's not perfect, but maybe it could work.

    All done, thanks for looking.
  22. Sorry, NY, USA and FedEx 2 day. I actually received the package before I received Wyrd's order confirmation email.
