Cool, it's good to know Lucas isn't overused in the group. I had a look at the Wave 1 arsenal box but it doesn't seem to have cards for the models I've ordered. I've got the pdfs of them though so I can just print them out. Also ordered a fate deck so if I can get disciplined about painting there's a chance I could have a small crew ready for March. Should I drop you a PM on this forum before the game to make sure it's still on? And thanks again for the help

Well, I'm definitely going to get the Relic Hunters box and some Guild Riflemen simply because I like the minis. But I'm also liking the looks of Rasputina, Zoraida and possibly Kaeris. Perdita seems great too but I hear she's pretty popular and I wanted to go for a slightly lesser-used crew. (Of course, now you'll probably inform me that there are already 20 Lucas McCabe players at G3...)

Hey Davi, I'm in Rutherglen, just down the road from Hampden. A demo on March 4 would be great, many thanks for the offer. I'm going to order the book and some miniatures this week so hopefully I'll have a decent grasp of the rules by then, although I doubt my crew will be painted. Would that be a problem?

Thanks for the replies. I was thinking a white undercoat would help avoid the end result looking too 'flat', so it's good to know I'm on the right track and that the Vallejo paints come recommended. Regarding Sidir, I think he's such an obviously 'exotic' member of the crew that I'm not going to worry too much about fitting him into the scheme. I love the model so if he stands out from the rank and file I don't mind at all.

Thanks for the tips mate. Sounds like dropping by G3 might be the best bet. I deactivated my FB account a few years back but might start a new one if it helps me get some games in.

Hi, Has anyone got experience with using the Vallejo American Civil War paint set? I'm thinking of painting a Lucas McCabe crew and Guild Riflemen in a vaguely Confederate theme - lots of greys and earth tones with some flashes of colour - and was wondering if that was my best bet for a starter set. It might be worth mentioning that I haven't painted a miniature for about 20 years.

MasterDisaster; Your post was incredibly helpful, thanks a million. I realise now that I was confused about the whole Wave 1 / 2 thing, but you've really cleared it up. It's good to know that if I pick up old minis like Stitched Together or the Gunsmiths they'll be playable from next week and should have cards by May. One last question for clarification's sake: Are the rules on the Wave 1 arsenal cards set in stone, or are the Wave 2 boxes going to be the 'full edition', so to speak, with rules for both waves?

Hi y'all. I'm just getting into Malifaux and was hoping forum members could help me out with some questions. Over the past fortnight I've devoured everything I can find online about the game, and most of my queries relate to the current crossover from 1.5 to 2E. I'm joining a local games club with a good-sized group of Malifools, and I'd like to get started on building and painting a crew as soon as possible. Having narrowed my choice of master down to four, I'd be very grateful to know which are the best fit for the following criteria: 1 - If I buy the models, will they come with 2E rule cards or would I have to buy arsenal boxes? 2 - If I go for an older starter box, are any of the models unusable / bad fits under 2E? 3 - Are there any miniatures on my lists that aren't likely to be available for a while yet? (I don't want to use proxies). Also, any comments about my crew selections would be really helpful. I've yet to pick up the rulebook so all these lists have been created after reading the forums and pullmyfinger and using the Wyrd crew creator.
