  1. Sorry for my ignorance, but why you say Levy is so powerful? I usually play Neverborn, and now I start to collect Outcast and Levy is on the list...I read his stat, but on the paper he doesn't seem so poweful. Thank you!
  2. Another week, another battle! Tonight I take Seamus and his belles in the dark street of Malifaux, and in the other corner of the district I've noticed that Hamelin waits with his lost souls. Who is gonna be the king of these quarantine neighbourhood? The game was 40ss; I take Seamus, Madame Sybelle, copycat killer, 2 belles and bete noir. Hamelin was accompanied by Candy, Higgy, an obedient wretch and two rat catchers. I take Bodyguard on bete noir and make them suffer (no one revealed); Hamelin take a line in the sand and bodyguard on Candy. The game start with an initial positioning, but both of us cannot conceed too much finesse, because for win, bones gonna be broken...^^ For sure Ressers are solid like stone, and a 5 SS belle is a nightmare with her 8 WD and HTW. Hamelin's crew spread disease amog the undead, but with Flintlock shots and Sybelle whip, the blood start to run from lost souls wounds... Maybe, with other strategy and schemes, Hamelin crew can counts more on her playstyle and strenghts, but with this "face to face" situation, my crew exacts an heavy toll on lord of disease minions. In the end, with 7 turns played, the game end in a 10-1 for Seamus. It was a good game, with many moments of fun and alternate luck. See you next week for another encounter!
  3. Yesterday evening my Ramos crew have beat to death Wong, guided by Luca. After a long struggle between pigs and spiders, the mechanical arachnids win the onslaught and achieve victory. The schemes for both was breakthrough and protect territory, all revealed. 10-2 was the final result. Rarely I saw a field so full of corpse and scarp markers....^^
  4. Hemmm...Mortimer isn't an Outcast...^^ In my opinion Taelor is the best henchman to lead a small crew.
  5. 2 terror tot and "living blade", cover Barbaros cost. Via "nimble" he is a good scheme machine!
  6. In my experience "fear given form" on Nekima isn't so good. You usually prefer she kills enemies with her sword (or black blood) because tot and young nephilim grow up; "fear given form" threatens to eliminate possible targets for growing up mechanics. In the list above I've noticed the lack of Barbaros, the third menace you always desire. With Lilith, Nekima e Barbaros, you have a really powerful trident!
  7. Thank you guys! We used fixed list because our community is very young, so many of us don't own enough pieces to do many lists.
  8. Last Sunday was held on the first Malifaux tournament in Italy, in Milan! We were 12 players from different cities and we fought over the title of "Mayor of Milanfaux"! The format was: 40ss, fixed list. I brought: The Dreamer [cache 2]+ 4ss *Dreams of pain 5ss Widow weaver 8ss x2 daydreams (2+2) 4ss Coppelius 8ss Teddy 11ss My list was focused on solid pieces and the Dreamer's summoning ability. First game: The Dreamer Vs Sonnia Creed He brought: Sonnia with some upgrades (The one that create wall of flame, the one that grant her to summon witchling stalkers and the other that grant me burning eternally), Hopkins with the "Burning +4" upgrade, an executioner, two witcling stalkers and the purifing flame totem. Strategy was Turf War; as scheme I choose Breaktrough and A line in the sand; my opponent choose the same and we reveal them both. The table was very rough, with a flank totally indoor and composed by sewer (severe terrain), while the other flank was open ground with some walls and cover. I use Coppelius for manouvre on the "plan" flank, while with the rest of my force I try to occupy the sewer via many push (day dreams) and some high-mobility pieces like insidious madness. During an apocalypse of distruction, Teddy kills the executioner and two witchling stalkers, while on the other flank Sonnia & Hopkins kills anything I ran to them. Strategy proceed and both of us score points on Turf War, but for my opponent Breaktrough was compromised. On turn 5 he has Sonnia & Hopkins in the central square, but I hold the field and Lord Chompy, Coppelius and a madness engaging his duo. The game was over, so we counts the points. 10-5 for me. Good game. Sonnia &hopkins are not so resilient, but one round them is very difficult and their resposte can kill easily anything. Game 2: The Dreamer Vs Misaki (10T) He brought: Misaki with smoke bombs and disguised, Ototo with thunder, one torakage, one oiran, samurai and takanaka sniper. Strategy: Stake a Claim; both of us choose and reveals: Breaktrough and Protect Territory. The field was a western village, with many buildings and barricade. My only preoccupation was to keep the Dreamer out of Misaki's reach. On turn one we advance in cover and I try to outflank enemy forces with Coppelius. On turn two, thanks to previous evocation I keep Teddy and Dreamer as my last activations, so Teddy via flurry kills takanaka sniper and the Dreamer evoke a stitched togheter. The stitched gamble with Misaki and deals her 7 damage...wow! On third turn we realize I have too many pieces, so in a desperate last charge, the 10T try to clean up my nightmarish horde, but in response, nightmare of various nature smash the unfortunate opposers...on turn 4 there are no 10T on the field...10-0 for me. Game 3: The Dreamer Vs Seamus He brought: Seamus with sinister reputation, his many hats, and the upgrade hallows him to vanish via back alley at price of one corpse marker, Madame Sybelle with her "extra movement on lure", 3 belles, the copycat and a flesh golem. Strategy: Reconnetour; I choose and reveal Protect Territory, while I didn't reveal Plant Evidence. My opponent choose Make them Suffer and Plant Evidence (both no revealed). I Played on the table of first game (sewer). On turn one, via back alley and a double shot form copycat I lost Coppelius, but with a 12 of mask he came back immediatley! Yeah! The game was difficult, because with his irresistible lure (Ca 8 ???) he can pull me in the centre of the table and make my models not valid for the principal strategy. Luckily for me, summoned models save the day, and I start to do points on second turn. We played at "cat & Mouse", because If I catch him, I smash his crew, but with his high mobility it isn't simple for me to reach his belles... Anyway, that situation give me the control on one flank of the field, so I can take my schemes. On turn 5 the game was 10-2, but with a 11 the game proceed on turn 6 and end in a 10-4 for me. At the end of the day, with 3 games achieved, 30 points and a delta of 21, I Became the new Mayor of Milanfaux! Thanks to Rubbe for the beautiful tables and organization! You are a very good Henchman my friend! Also thanks to all partecipants for a day of good game and great time! See you soon, bye!!! P.s. I'm sorry for my english....^^
  9. Hi! I would to know McCabe background, but I have no idea of where I can find it! Can you help me, please? Thank you! :-)
  10. Hi! In my opinion you deliver too many points in "scheme runner"; the guild hounds are very useful and fast, but Luna and two of them are enough to run scheme. If you spam hound, your crew maybe is little tactically flexible. I love wastrel because they can afford many situations, and for 4 SS they are great. McCabe plays a lot on his "upgrade sinergy", but he also cost a lot of SS between pool and upgrades, so, models which accompany him, must have a little SS cost. Luna, 2 hound and 2 wastrel is ok; in 18SS you have 5 models. The rest of the crew can be composed by heavy hitter or "denial" models. McCabe is not an "easy master", like many others in wave 2, but with the right gameplay he can achieve great results!
  11. In my opinion Teddy e Baby Kade are too expensive; 18 SoulStones for just two pieces, good just for hitting enemy. "Lure" isn't bad, but I think Neverborn for the same cost in Soulstones can have more complete options. With Pandora I prefer to run a Widow Weaver, an insidious madness and others tricky pieces. My heavy hitter is Pandora, because she can do "hit and run" (and she hits really hard), and using soulstones she can prevent damage and save herself. Heavy hitter tend to be "mono-dimensional" in my opinion, so I don't like them in any faction, unless they can do some trick.
  12. 1. I think you must will be very careful in her transportation, because her "point of contact" is very thin. Onestly, I don't recommend you to pin her legs; a bad broken is behind the corner. 2. In my opinion her upgrade is made to ensure her survival; but...since she is an henchman, she can use SS to prevent damage or to gain positive flips to defense duels (and negative flips on adversary damage), and she has also "goody basket" for heal someone else or herself. In the end, even without her personal upgrade she have high chance of survival, so, maybe is better to use her to drop damage on enemy models via "fear given form" and "depression" upgrade (melancholy=>place Candy within 3" of the target). 3. I think she make her best at 50SS, where you can "help" her with sorrows, insidious madness and Pandora. Another strong Candy's ally is the Widow wever with her web and her multiple way to apply damage to a target.
  13. I saw that I was already marked in, very well!!! I'm Ricky! I hope to be the new creepy mayor of Milanfaux...Buahhahahah!!!
  14. Hello to everyone! My name is Riccardo and I'm writing from Italy! I spend a long time in many wargames, but in the end Malifaux conquered me! Its miniatures and system are simply fantastic and the background is really awesome. I'm very pleased to take this game choice. Now I own Pandora's crew and for Christmas I gave Viks crew to my girlfriend, but in a few time I intend to collect many Neverborn models...and many other from others factions!!! I also hope to travel around Europe to have some good experience in Maifaux tournament with other players! See you soon! bye
