  1. I will change my current Guild vote to Outcasts if I can get a few people to promise to vote Guild if Outcasts win.
  2. I am 99% certain you have that right.
  3. In the maybe 13 years that I've been playing miniature games, I've only ever seen this come up as a problem during tournaments, and even then only rarely. Most people I've gamed with are perfectly happy with proxy models on the table so long as clear communication is involved. I use my EBO kickstarter kids as general purpose proxies regularly, for example. I have to remind my regular opponent who they are this game repeatedly, but no one minds. Official "counts as" cards would make this much easier. I'm not saying you should include 10 cards with each of these. You just shouldn't worry about players raging over it. Perhaps, if you're are going to remain concerned about this, you could compromise by making each card contextually mutually exclusive (like only one per faction, or no mercs). Then, it would be fairly easy for a player to work out who the model is this game without asking every time.
  4. May I just say, this thread and those like are prime examples of why I love Wyrd. As you (Nathan) said earlier, it is about the business, and you're not going to hide that fact. Yet still, you remain entirely human, you care deeply for what you are making, and you're willing to express that. You are honest to your customers without coming off as pandering, condescending or manipulative. I imagine Wyrd is a great example of what a modern company could be (about the people and the product above the money). I've thought about applying on more than one occasion. Thank you for being wonderful.
  5. It may be hard to get these, but I use the models I got from funding the Evil Baby Orphanage kickstarter.
  6. The Neverborn are not a particularly unified faction. We only know that Lilith and her Nephilim despise necromancy. Others might well be all for it. Someone had to invented all the necromantic devices from old Malifaux.
  7. While there's no hard mechanics for this, the rules do seem to support using skills and time to craft new spells. The rules say that the system is set up to encourage characters to rely on their own skills for equipment and possessions. Why can't magic work the same way?
  8. Gah, you've broken the seal. Now we must know more, more I tell you, MORE!
  9. These models are excellent indeed. I have a small request regarding it though. Would you please make sure we at least have access to what is in the Hamlin box before this becomes purchasable? It would be potentially disappointing to end up with reasonably unusable models because of redundancy.
  10. Hi y'all, I've been watching, but haven't really thrown out an opinion yet. I hope it's not out of line. On the topic of Infiltration: Showgirls makes a lot of sense and should stay. Puppets lets the crew contain all the effigies, though. I would rather see mimics or woes be the Neverborn infiltration. Mimics would make more sense except that Guild Lawyers might be a stretch. On Hazy: I think that we would be better served using existing mechanics. It makes the crew work with more current and potential releases. On Simple Duels: This seems like a solid way to make the haze described in the story without creating a new condition.
  11. Of the two, I'd say you'll get more general use out Tots, but only slightly. This is especially true if you're going to get the Lilith box as you said. She'd be a 3rd master to factor in, and she will usually do better with Tots as well. That said, if you are more likely to play The Dreamer often, get the madness for all the reasons people have said above. Basically, The Dreamer wants his own crew, while nearly every other master picks from around the faction. There is certainly overlap, but I've bought more models (mostly) just for The Dreamer than any other master I have. Edit: basically, get both.
  12. Bummer, but it makes sense. On the card difference issue, they could rename the abilities to better fit the characters, while keeping the abilities exactly the same. Would that cause any problems?
  13. So, has anyone been able to figure out who Thin Lizzy, Mercury, and Baritone Lola stand in for? It'd be a shame if some of them were just performers.
  14. My name comes from a story by H. P. Lovecraft, specifically: http://www.dagonbytes.com/thelibrary/lovecraft/theratsinthewalls.htm
  15. I would very much like to see a Neverborn/Resurrectionist master that focuses on making fragile exploding undead (No need for new models to come along as all models summoned would gain appropriate characteristics ala Tara Death Marshals). I've been kicking that idea around for a while now. He/she/it would make a good henchman if we're avoiding new masters.
  16. There was once a belief on the Warseer Forums that the Chaos Dwarves release had a count-down timer. Every time someone brought up their release, the timer would reset. I imagine we're facing a similar situation here.
  17. Fair enough. 99 times out of 100 I'd be right there with you. I'm not actually sure why I'm not this time... Either way, we can both agree that a larger Nightmare Nekima would be welcomed with delight.
  18. Can't she look like a warrior porn star? While I almost always agree that fantasy women are over-sexualized, somehow I feel like it fits Nekima.
  19. The current model is fine as a default, but I would buy an up-scaled nightmare edition in a different pose.
  20. Sorry to interrupt the far more interesting discussion of gaming ethics. I felt like it was shallow because much of the article was just information read of the cards in an exited tone. While this has its place, interesting interactions that readers may not have thought about are more helpful. For example, you suggest making your own shooters Tormented to use with Sympathy of the Damned, which goes beyond talking about the most obvious use of the ability, but your discussion of Hamlin's crew just points out Gnaw destroys scheme markers and Wretches can hurt Blighted models. The first example makes for a more interesting read, while the latter only helps if you have never checked out the crew before. "Wretched Rats" was a much more engaging article for just this reason. Compare it to your Hamlin discussion in this article and you'll see exactly what I mean.
  21. As always, I enjoyed the stories. The art was also quite pleasant. The Outcasts article felt shallow and unhelpful. The deception article had some very useful techniques, but its tone was kinda creepy. Tactical articles in previous chronicles have been solid however, so I think these were the exception. I also like that you included playable content for both M2E and TtB. Keep that coming. I often feel a mite starved for preview pictures like the ones that came before Gencon. More of those would be nice. Longer would be cool, but I don't feel right asking for it in a free magazine.
  22. In a sense, they already produce official scheme markers. The faction symbols on the boxes are 30mm. Cut those out, and you have some mighty fine markers.
