  1. EDIT: I PUT THE WRONG DATE! It is supposed to be Saturday the 15th (this Saturday) NOT Friday! Demo/Hobby/Game night at FTW Games in Richmond. Starts at 5pm (Demos, anyway), but feel free to show up early! We will be playing some Malifaux, doing some demo's, and hobbying! Casual event. I will also be announcing the theme for the Bring On The Heat painting contest (Judging will take place May 17th or so, giving a good 2 months to prepare a submission). FTW Games 13176 Midlothian Turnpike, Midlothian, VA 23113 (804) 464-1873
  2. In the spirit of revitalizing the local Malifaux scene, I have decided to make my first event as a henchman something that will attract both new and dormant players. FTW Games 13176 Midlothian Turnpike, Midlothian, VA 23113 (804) 464-1873 Join me at FTW games for a night of demos (or a game, if you like!), hobbying, and a contest or two. I plan on having a nice open discussion on some good hobbies tips for newer painters and players to help everyone get the most out of their Malifaux figures. I will also be discussing a few neat basing techniques. Once that is done, I plan on having a painting contest. Each person can submit one figure. It does not matter if the figure is metal or plastic, and it can be assembled and primed, but I would prefer if everyone started from a blank slate otherwise. I will have a secret theme for the figures, so this would be a good opportunity to give a paint job to that one figure you can't get a good idea for, or to buy that stand-alone figure that you like aesthetically and have needed a reason to buy. The first prize for this will be a box set of your choice. You can either pick from one of the sets available at the store or we can set up an order plan for you to get one of the new sets that come out at the end of February. True, you wouldn't physically get it that night this way, but we will get it set up and paid for through the store so you just need to come back and pick it up when it is released. The demos and games will be fairly lax. Since the Wave 2 ruleset should be locked in on the 10th, I will do my best to have some printouts available if you want to use one of those sets. If enough people show up, I may run a mini-tournament (let's say if at least 8 people show up) offering the same above box set offer as a prize to the winner. For the painting contest and the tournament (if it happens), there will be 2nd and 3rd place prizes depending on the turnout. I will, however, have something neat for everyone who shows up. Finally, I am going to use this night to discuss a more permanant Malifaux league night with everyone. I have some ideas to make the league have some flexibility so that things don't, necessarily, need to be done on the same night every week while giving all who want a chance to participate. More info to come the night of the event. Sorry for the eyeful, but I do hope to see everybody there!
  3. I will wait as well. Im a new henchman, so I can understand why I wouldnt have access as quick.

    Game, anyone?

I'm on VASSAL right now if anyone is down for an M2E game.
  5. Considering how small the miniatures are and the depth of the detail, there would be no feasible way to mold a whole model. My question is, has anybody ever tried to make a mold of a disassembled piece, still in sprues? I'm interested in molding some copies of pieces (like the head/chest combo pieces on certain characters, wings, some weapons) to make different things I can possibly make interchangeable. In most cases, I would just buy another one if I really needed to, but with only wanting to do certain pieces (possible with some cool translucent resin), I don't see it as overly cost effective. I am getting my Herald of Obliteration set finally and I love the look of the nothing beast so much that I want to make pieces of it interchangeable, if at all possible. Anybody had any luck with molding the tiny, tiny little pieces at all? If so, what kind of molding rubber do you use? I use Allumite.
  6. Im just practicing for the day I get my herald of obliteration. Its not the rarity or the stats (I dont even know what they are)...I am just a huge fan of cthulu and really want to paint that one up.
  7. Just what I was going for, hah. Thanks a ton!
  8. Well I have the game and vassal installed and whatnot. If anyone wants to play, let me know. I'm interested to see how it translates with Vassal compared to table top. Skype: Adderob
  9. So I already added googly eyes to him, but since I had a little extra green stuff left, I decided to make him a tongue and paint it with oil black. I like the way it turned out. Pretty sure I'm finished with him now, save for a light wash in some of the cracks and sealing.
  10. This video is where I learned that. The type of nail polish is very important.
  11. My wife and I are going to be at FTW Games (address below) tomorrow from 12 p.m. until ?? (they close at 10 p.m.) playing some Malifaux and doing some Terrain/Base building. Anybody is welcome. We are usually in the back left corner, but just ask for Rob and Krystal and they should point you in the right direction. Reply or message me if you need any info. 12. You did a friggin awesome job on these, babe. (p.s. This is my wife so...I'm allowed to say that)
  13. Made this out of a small bottle from the craft store and bearings from an old skate bearing. One of the pictures is on a base for size comparison. Might use this for a corpse marker or something.
