  1. Probably no, as BBS can give only Black Blood only 2 times in the first turn, and turn two Illuminated like to be already on the frontline, not in the range of Shaman's range I meant instead of spending 7SS on a BBS, wouldn't it be more effective to just hire a 3rd Illuminated instead?
  2. Sorry for the late reply. On the Nephilim side. I did not say that Barbaros was bad, I just said he was 0.5-1SS overcosted. I make good use of him and I like him (especially because of his challenge aura and his alt scupt) but his very low damage output is detrimental in many circumstances for a piece of this cost. As to the BBS & Young - Mature Neph. I guess it is is a question of choice. For Candy, I need to try her again in the rightly themed crew I guess. On Tannen, I am still unconvinced. I'll give it a go another time when I have the opportunity (and vendetta is not in the pool). I always take one BBS with Lynch and it never disappoints me. Throw black blood on 2 illuminated turn 1 and later just support to make them even more survivable, and even more hard-hitting, and inflict a bit of irresistible damage if someone gets within 1" I'm curious, wouldn't you be better off with a 3rd Illuminated? I tried her a few times and she is useful as she provides a nice range support but she is vastly overcosted (1-2SS overcosted I think). She is competing with Hans and the Trapper and she is not winning this competition. For 2SS more you can have Lazarus for another kind of range support (but I am biased, I love Lazarus). But the whole starter box on the NB side is really bad honestly.
  3. Sure they do—the bases stack perfectly atop 30mm lipped bases. Just have to remember, when picking them up, that they aren’t attached. Ask me how I know... Aren't Warpigs on 50mm bases ?
  4. Hum it seems Tannen is good with Pandora who provides extra survavability. I played him with Lilith, Lynch & Titania so far (in conjunction with Barbaros actually). Every time the player read the card he killed the model (wasting valuable AP from masters to set it done as I put Tannen a bit behind obviously). In Ply for Info, I don't see how he can make himself useful without instantly dying from sharp shooters (he loses manipulative if he activates early and has thus no defense). Is Barbaros worth 10SS to you though? I have played Barbaros with Lilith, Titania and Pandora so far. I like the model rules and how he combines with Fears Given Form for max annoyance, I like the fluff and I love the alt mini but he does not feel like a 10SS henchman to me. As an opponent, once you realize his damage track is crappy and he is not that survivable, either you use him to burn your opponent's cards & SS and/or you use him for your own schemes & strats (ply for information, public demo, set-up...). I always feel like I'm paying some extra cost for him as I have to bring a beater to complement his control job. Hum This would mean having a 1SS upgrade (which you may take anyway of course) and spending high cards, one of your Master's AP, the Emissary's 0 action (so no hungry land marker this turn) to make the Mature survivable despite his Df4. Changelings would need to be very near him to copy his attack, so this will require set up (but is far from impossible to manage). This seems very resource & placement intensive, doesn't it?
  5. Dear All, Please find below stuff from Wave 1 & 2 I never got working. Please kindly share your experience if you have tried these models (successfully or not) in a competitive environment. Tannen - So I tried Tannen on Saturday night, again... Every time I make a list with him I am sure I have found a way to make him work. Every time I fail, he dies turn 2. His defensive mechanisms are just really crappy, especially if you want to use his Chatty bubble. And he is 6SS... Black blood shaman - I may be wrong but I have the feeling they are overcosted by 2SS imho. Wicked doll - Never felt the need nor the use for them. Other stuff that works but does not seem worth its points: Candy - She and her upgrade are very pricey. With the Captain treatment, I feel she would be a very strong choice but as of now, I find her lackluster (but I don't play Pandora much). Young Nephilims - They work OKish but they are too slow and they tend to not be worth their points, especially when competiting vs other minions in the 5-7SS range. Mature Nephilims - Every time I favour Nekima for pure damage or I go down to Grave for additional utility. Now that the Rider is at the same price, I fear for the Mature. Barbaros. He works, I like him and challenge is great but his damage track is too poor for a 10SS model. Nimble & Critical strike (or straight +1 damage on the Min damage) would help or Swift & the same damage track would maybe make him fully worth his points.
  6. Strangely it did not work for me.
  7. Arg Ok I'll search for one of these... Or maybe Wyrd will be kind enough to provide ready to print pdf
  8. This is awesome and gorgeous. I'm just waiting for the price tag to see if I'm excited or frustrated As to the tiles however I'm not so sure. In terms of aesthetics they are very good but in terms of game play comfort I think I prefer battle mats with marked deployment zones & scoring areas. The buildings are really nive though so I'll try and pick some up, although I may wait for a storing tutorial (living in a flat makes space a precious thing).
  9. Has anyone found a way to conveniently print them out? My printer refuses to cooperate and give them the proper size so I have to annoyingly redimension each of them manually before printing.
  10. The problem with the Nekima vs Mature comparison is mostly due to the fact that Nekima's defensive abilitives are a lot higher than the Mature's in many circumstances. Melee expert is also much better than Flurry. They fill exactly the same role. It is normal that Nekima is better than the Mature, she costs 3SS more. However, now that the Rider is also 10SS with a lot of survibility, a superior mobility in many situations and an ability to deal damage that is lower but still nothing to sneeze at. He thus can do something similar to the Mature but with additional movement tricks.
  11. That's what I thought on paper but it never goes like this on the table for me. As for competing models: Silurids do drop 2 markers very consistently (which they should as they are nearly twice as expensive). They won't be tied in a fight because you do not have the proper Mask in hand. They also can deal a decent amount of damage which is always interesting. Hoarcats can actually run for scheme and reliably kill other scheme runners. However, I lack practice with this model so maybe I am wrong. For Tots I don't know how to rigorously argue my point though. On paper they are mostly similar. It's just that on the table they always did what I wanted them to do while Gupps have never satisfied me.
  12. Fluffwise:: XXX lost limbs in Nythera, XXX is killed & XXX is shot in the head in the last Chronicles, XXX & XXX were incarcerated, XXX was seemingly rejected from his/her second faction, XXX is growing up, XXX revealed his/her true allegiances... The Guild lost its oppressive/repressive image and many of its stakeholders are represented in a more positive way There are strong hints towards a fluff rupture. I personally welcome it, it keeps the Malifaux world dynamic and the books interesting to read. The only point I don't like is the change in the Guild role because it is what imho makes Malifaux what it is. A fluff rupture is a good prelude to a change of edition though, and/or a chance to issue new sculpts. Without an edition change, I don't know how they will keep correlating rules with fluff though. Gamewise: Indeed some models are overlapping but not as many as one may think, especially if you value themed crews when you play. Upgrades are very hit and miss, some are almost always taken, some are never taken. The 0SS upgrades from book 3 were a very bad idea. Some rules may require a rewrite (terrain for example) & timing should be clearer at times. Erratas keep coming up but are annoying to handle in terms of physical cards. The last one was ambitious but not so satisfying for models that were badly designed to begin with. GG tries new stuff. Some Book 4 masters induced balance issues in their factions, heavily competing with other faction choices (Sandeep & Nelly being the prime examples). I am not so sure there is a need for M3E immediately. I am more curious about what they can add in terms of models now that every faction has had its recruitment holes filled. So all in all, with TOS being released in 2018, I doubt they will handle a M3E before 2019, although book 6 will require a good deal of creativity to be interesting modelwise without invalidating older models.
  13. I play Zoraida, Lilith, Lynch, Titania & Pandora. Terrain is usually heavy and there are lots of severe terrain pieces. Ht 3+ terrain is common so getting onto elevated places is not so easy with a leap 5. I keep thinking the Gupps are not so bad when I look at their cards. But then I put them on the table and I find them really crappy, rarely leaping or doing anything meaningful. I've never been disappointed in Tots but I have been disappointed in Gupps every single game. For stake a claim or claime jump, I just take 1-2 Silurids and I am usually fine. My second faction is Arcanists and now that Hoarcat prides are at 4SS I don't see any point in taking Gupps with Marcus.
  14. Teddy is mostly a summon model for me. Mature also would be if Grow lists were something actually working consistently. As it is now I rarely used the Mature (when I need a beater with retribution eye) and now that the rider is 10SS, I don't see why I would bother using the Mature. Maybe Wyrd will solve the matter in a later errata.
  15. Yep I asked myself the same question upon checking a stitch in time. Fire in the sky may be the only one missing in .pdf. Is there a specific reason?
  16. Have you had real success with it though. I tried it but had the following issues: The Swamp Mother does not do anything during the first 3 rounds. The package with the WotW costs 11SS, almost the same as McTavish or [Wadlgeist/Silurid + Iggy]. The Gupps don't do much if you don't have Masks, which is quite a needed resource in NB. I usually play quite terrain heavy so Gupps are not too impressive when they don't leap... All in all, I'll try again but I am currently not convinced that the Swamp Mother is really interesting, even after the cost decrease. If she provided a Mask to all swampfiend minions withing 6" that would be another matter as she would allow Gupps to take a leap to the battlefield. I guess they may be fine for Supply Wagon but this is theoryfaux.
  17. One of the most wanted Penny Dreadful ever !!! I hope the .pdf version comes quickly !
  18. I think the hooded rider killed the Mature Nephilim :p.
  19. You are correct, I must have an old version of the errata. I'd still like to have that ready to print .pdf though.
  20. Would it be possible to have a .pdf per faction with the errated cards at proper printing size, ready to print out? Additionally, can we get a watermark of the version on the cards like "180106" (for example) for this errata so that we know what we have is up to date? Maintaining up to date decks is becoming painful.
  21. Glad to see this erratum. Some models were left alone (wicked dolls, young nephilims...) but perhaps it was to find them a better place in the faction next year (eg: perhaps it's not a cost problem). In NB, McTavish was not problematic at his former cost, same as Nurses but hey, most swampfiend henchmen got -1SS so I won't complain. Seeing a little love for Cojo and the Big cobra (can never remember his name) is very nice, although a damage dealing enforcer for 6SS is quite a bargain. In brief I can't wait to try old toys. Thx Wyrd.
  22. Love the art although I hope they never have to scratch their noses, grab anything, touch anything, eat anything, dress/undress or go to the bathroom...
  23. The update is not proposed by my iPhone. Is there a command to force the update?
  24. I am on iOS and the app started to crash today (freezing just after the Wyrd logo screen while displaying the background of the main menu). Has the update gone live (I did not see any update on the App Store)? Is the crash related ? If yes I’ll wait before issuing a ticket to avoid spamming the mailboxes.
  25. The prices are really above my budget for plastic toy soldiers unfortunately. I was interested in the Dark Carnival, the Alt Coryphee and the twisted Raspy. 90 USD for DC and 35 USD for the Coryphee are just too pricy imho . The Twisted Raspy is 75 USD which is imho barely OK, even for a LTE. That's 200 USD for 2 crews and 2 additional medium base models. That's the equivalent of 4 normal crew boxes (at Wyrd store price). Additionally, if I remember well the last time I ordered from Wyrd directly, the shipping costs from the US to the EU were very high. 2 vintage masters are not really apealing imho, I'd rather have the shipping costs free of charge than 2 minis I will probably not use. It's a pity, the concepts are really cool. I wish I had money to spare for these. I wish you a happy Black Friday anyway.
