With regard to the first part, to quote chapter and verse (rather than saying "it is so"): pg 72, last paragraph of "Hire Crews" - "The other models hired by a crew must belong to the announced Faction, be specifically allowed by an Ability, or be Mercenary models (which will sell their services to any Crew)" I had initially overlooked this part as well, believing the "B" to be true for the first question. And if you only go by the description "Dual Faction Models" later on the same page, it would make sense. FWIW

Hey all, I'm new to Malifaux and to M2E, but really excited to start playing. I got to go to GenCon and demo the game and picked up Tara's crew and the rules. In trying to learn mechanics, I came across the "Sympathetic Echoes" trigger (:crows:crows) on her sword and am trying to figure out how it goes off. Since the sword has Ml 6:tomes, you get no crow there. Assuming you turn over :crows in your duel, you are still short a crow. I am assuming the only way that it triggers is if Tara spends a soulstone to add :crows? Again, new to the system, and trying to distill the little hidden rules out of the gobs of text in the rulebook. Any insight as to what I'm missing, or edumacation on the matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

It looks like models will block LoS (pg 40), but do not grant cover (pg 41).
