  3. They lied to you. I can barely fit a 3"x3" gaming mat onto my table. A 6"x3" mat would be fit as well, but anything with n"x4" would just not fit. And I live in the center of Europe

  9. Of course, I'll only what's officially available for free. Especially Chronicles and basic rules could really help to get people excited. Thanks for the quick reply!
  10. Thanks. That's an awesome move and will hopefully bring a lot of people into the world of Malifaux. I do have one question thou: As these PDF is free, are we allowed to give a copy to friends or is everyone asked to go to DriveThruRPG and download it him-/herself? Also applies to the Chronicles btw. Would like to give it away / share all Chronicles to friends, but I'm not sure as they are all watermarked.
  11. "Wer will noch mal, wer hat noch nicht?" - I'll be offering another round of demos on the 3rd of May. Again starting at around 14:00 with everything setup for two demo games in parallel: Table, Terrain, Crews, Fate Decks, Token, Tape Measures. Come and join us experiencing the world of Malifaux. If you're interested drop me a message either here or in our local forum and we'll arrange time / crew / opponent. 12. Whenever a model places a marker (implicitly or explicitly meaning via interact, death, ability) it's placed touching the base but not overlapping at all. Other markers or models are irrelevant besides scheme markers being placed as an interact action where other friendly scheme markers need to be at least 4" away. Otherwise other noted in the ability that allows marker placement.
  13. Quick addition: Willie is a human with a barrow having HT2 but he comes on a 50mm base because of the barrow. So I personally would tend to allow entering / leaving a building based on HT only, but this might not be common understanding.
  14. I have no clue about scales, but maybe this helps you as well: When you follow the Height rules (HT) as written in the rulebook, it's pretty easy. An average human being has a height of 2". Although the actual miniature might be a bit smaller, 2" is a solid first shot and a good number for all other calculations. I would simply take 1m:1" meaning a door (2m height) would be represented as a 2" door. Base sizes depend not only on the size of the miniature but also on other aspects. Single human beings normally have a 30mm base. Larger / stronger ones might also come on 40mm or 50mm thou. Colette is HT2 on 30mm base. Kang is HT2 on a 40mm base.
  15. It depends on what your strategy actually is, but things with hard to kill need at least two beatings / 2 action points. If you can add a small heal (1 hp is sufficient) or something that prevents charging they normally survive pretty long as the enemy normally needs 1 action to get there and would need 2 further ones to kill, which normally aren't available (besides masters and some exceptions).
  16. Even then you have LoS to and are friendly to yourself. You just can't use the action because of additional requirements. Which is of course something that comes on top every time you want to do an action (e.g. "Minion Model" on an action executed by a master).
  17. The discussion comes down to whether "gain slow instead" is also part of the trigger. But it can't. If the trigger would be "suffer 2 damage" and "gain slow instead" there wouldn't be any (re)action at all that would be triggered. Therefore "suffer 2 damage" is the trigger that activates "gain slow instead".
  18. You can always draw LoS to yourself and you're always friendly to yourself.
  19. So your argument is (if I got it right), that the 2 damage is the penalty and the slow just "an addendum" that might or might not be applied regardless of any condition on the model currently? So the trigger for this effect is "take 2 damage" and therefore the trigger can be met and the outcome (get slow instead) is then handled according to the rulebook - meaning ignoring it if it's already on the model, right? Sounds legit as well.
  20. I would argue that in Sloths case you get Paralyzed and can choose to get Slow (+ damage). As you can't get Slow you can't choose to do so. So Paralyzed is still applied (as only the option to choose has gone), it's applied, can't be applied and is ignored. Difference is that you're loosing the option to choose (which in this case you wouldn't choose anyway because of the damage).
  21. EDIT: Never mind my post, the guys got me convinced that it's the other way round. See my latest posting here on why
  22. So the official ruling goes as follows: The only unclear part is whether or not the within 1" has to be on the mentioned LoS line. Although not specifically mentioned it seems logical that it should be this way. Rules as written say that in both situations (picture 1 & 2) would grant cover because the terrain piece is within 1" of the models base. But are rules as written also rules as intended? It does seem to be completely not logical that if the terrain is 10" away (on LoS) I would still get cover. Even arguing with a dynamic fight, moving people, etc. it does not make sense to me. But it makes the game a little simpler and avoids discussions, because it's easier to measure terrain to base directly than terrain to base on a specific line that is not really visible. I personally would tend prefer "if the model is within 1" of the terrain on any of the lines drawn between the two models", but this is not what's written in the rules. And unless otherwise ruled or put into the errata this is the way it is "ruled". Although I would really like to see this in the next errata update for some clarification.
  23. I'm pleased to tell you that the last event was a great success. Although I only managed to moderate one round of games, we had 3 tables with 6 people diving into the world of Malifaux with even more watching / being interested. Therefore I will offer further demo games next Tuesday as well. The demos will be held again at RKKZ in Oberhausen from 14:00 to open end. I will again offer up to three games in parallel, but this time probably limited to one round of games. Please note that I can only offer crews for two games. My crew offerings remain the same: Mei Feng (Arcanists / Ten Thunders), Sonnia Criid (Guild), Yan Lo (Resurrectionists / Ten Thunders), Pandora (Neverborn). I will also offer 4 fate decks and two tape measures. So everything necessary for two full games. 24. This ability has two parts where only one is relevant for charges, the LoS. Charges are only allowed to be taken if the target ends within melee engagement range of your active miniature. But as the Cg value doesn't increase, the "range extender" part of this ability is worthless for charges. Although you could still declare a charge (I guess as the rule only states "be taken"), it'll just be a waste of action points. The LoS ignoring part can be helpful thou. Image someone standing around a corner of a sight-blocking terrain piece, but only 1/2" away from that corner. These could now be targeted.
