  1. Old Major can bring them along plus they can reckless. There's plenty of ways to push them outside of just saddle.
  2. i don't recall him even being in that whatsoever and we recently just played through it. i am curious, if the new master is a reporter, whether or not they will be a beat writer or more like an editor-in-chief. the actiony pose would suggest the former... i also wonder how much of a guild stooge would they be? Are they basically a propagandist? Or a crusader of truth? Or, maybe both! From what I've seen and what's in my gut I don't get the impression of just a complete dog for the guild. Guess we may get more clues on Monday.
  3. Twisted Alternatives: Journey to the West
  4. They've become a bit more useful in gaining grounds 2016 as a lot of schemes and strats are now non-peon, rather than significant. doesnt make them less squishy though.
  5. Or other crossroads 7's, like Wrath ;D Haven't tried Queeg with Dashel yet, may try a guard Lucius list soon, I dunno. Also, the brutal emissary is pretty darn good with Justice. it's like having a teleport/protective case for justice and another justice all rolled into one. I personally think that with her, it makes the emissary the most cost efficient. ANot too bad with McMourning either, but only tried it once.
  6. ^ unfortunately, it has to be an enemy model to bring someone along. I use master Queeg pretty consistently with both Lucius and Lucas. He and the guild sergeant make a pretty good team. Him and an orderly too. i like the Brutal Emissary with a few masters too. Only wave 3 models I have yet to even try are the Sanctioned Spellcasters and that's just because I really am not sure with what master to bring them. Also, in our meta, Greed is considered one of the best of the Crossroads 7 and finds plenty of use.
  7. I like it because she is subtly demonic from the front. Unusual face, slender, elongated neck. Almost accidentally wrong looking and yet, with her sleeves pulled back and her hair down would be a lovely young woman, unassuming, no doubt. and then, presumably, from the back... >D
  8. Unless it's a Ca with a that has range as well like Perdita's gun. (though that is a Sh that can melee)
  9. I don't think I have played outcast Taraa yet. I play her almost exclusively as a reserrectionist and I love her. Obliteration is the only upgrade I think is absolutely necessary personally. After that it's season to taste on how you play her. Tara has more options than just tara bombing things, especially in ressers, I think. I personally love Dead of Winter for the -wp but it's quite a gamble. If you think of it more like a way to pitch enemy cards than a way to guarantee wp failures, you'll do better with it, I think I don't really use Karina. I think I used her once and didn't even use the summoning totem. As far as Death Marshalls go, I think darlings is better for hiring void wretches and nothing beast but that's just because I like void wretches better than crooligans, which I am just not that good at using but I definitely think Death Marshals are useful for Tara.
  10. I'll bring her as a henchwoman in a Tara crew. She has anti-armor, the ability to generate more Ap through summoning and precious healing when I gobble up Seishin. Not to mention, if I have her following Tara around, I have gotten people paralyzed with her terrifying combined with a hanged an Tara's -wp aura. Her damage isn't bad either and her movement tricks are always nice. She's just a really solid model as long as you can keep her a live (and from what I have seen she is generally a target (and rightfully so)) which you can still use to your advantage.
  11. I would suggest Datsue Ba as her starting hench(wo)man myself. She's very good with resser Tara already and you can put in things like The Hanged, rotten Belles and/or Jakuuna Ubume and/or drowned, etc. and have a crew that is fine with resser Tara with few (if any) interchangeable parts. (If you have Datsue-ba, then your friend has a reason to use his gaki) and crooligans make decent void wretch substitutes until you can hire them, so he should still be getting his models worth. Izamu or rogue necro or the rider can be good heavy hitters in a resser crew and be bombed by Tara later when she appears also and Izamu is synergistic with Datsue Ba. Keep in mind, Resser Tara can play a little different than outcast Tara and while her crew is good with her, in a resser crew (especially a campaign crew) most of the normal resser stuff works just fine with her with only a little bit of parts exchange/replacement needed. IMO her biggest strength and biggest weakness is her independence. She doesn't really NEED anything but sometimes it can be hard to fit the right parts for her as well (even among her own synergistic crew)
  12. yeah, you're right. Though I guess my response still partially addresses the original question.
  13. Aside from how reactivate works, the reason that Tara cannot regain Activte is because she gets the "Eternal" condition which gives her Reactivate when a certain condition is met. When you go with her as your first activation, and use Eternal Moments, she doesn't actually get reactivate right then and there. So when you want to go last with her, if you were to use the Eternal Moments (0) again, you could not receive another instance of the condition she already has until end of turn, even if Reactivate itself didn't stipulate only being able to be gotten once a turn (which I believe it does) It's a small distinction, but an important one. Aside from just Tara, it does have some other effects in the game. For, example, if she just received reactivate by itself, Shenlong could steal it. He cannot, however, steal Eternal (which gives her activate) As far as burying goes, I believe when a model is buried (for any reason) it basically counts as not existing in the game proper except for things that specifically target buried models (like many of Tara's themed crews) or for resolving End of Turn Effects (like burning, poison, etc.)
  14. What about comboing Old Major and the Sow? If you can keep the sow healed, with Nudge em, she can pretty much murder things.
  15. Yeah, that's the way I look at it. It's not costing you anything, so if you DON'T use it, you don't lose anything, but if you NEED it, it's there. sometimes I think an option is worth more than a sure thing that might have a more specific use.
  16. Those are pretty interesting proxies ^ ^ I usually just use the lone marshal for friendly games. I dunno how they are going to make them look different.
  17. Nice to see he might not be completely leave at home. Do you take Perdita's upgrade when you take the Emissary?
  18. RB, do you leave Nino and Santiago at home as well? I've never really seen anyone take him outside of for giggles. I remember he was an auto include in 1.5 so I can see why he got von schill'd, but still. Is he utterly non-competitive?
  19. I have the lady Justice Avatar ready and painted. It's what I have used when i have wanted to proxy the Emissary, but I SHOULD slap down my Perdita Avatar so that I can not be able to use it on the field in any kind of reasonable manner.
  20. Yeah, usually old cranky or the slop hauler.
  21. Unfortunately, the way I end up doing it, I don't have the 8 extra points >.< I usually use Merris as my scheme dropper in Ulix lists. I get warpig/piglet/piglet on the first turn still.
  22. without hiring ahead of time, I have ended up with around 5-6 piglets on the table. Two boxes is probably good in MOST situations.
  23. In the guild, I have used Queeg, which I loved, Mounted Guard which are amazing, Brutal Emissary with Justice, Perdita and McMourning, which I thought was good in all instances but pretty gross with Justice. Greed i ran with Lucas once and won an enforcer brawl with (not that that is any indication of usefulness) but she's a scheme runner annihilator. One shots tots. I've used all of the crossroads 7 except Pride and Wrath. Wanted to put Pride in a Lucius list though. Sloth is a very excellent choice with a McCabe crew as well, btw. And I have used Changelings in a Lucius crew with Envy and a dop which is pretty sick. Only thing I haven't really used are the sanctioned spellcasters, even though i absolutely love the concept of them, but I think Guild's wave three was pretty solid (though not nearly as good as the ressers >.<)
  24. Like I said, I'm not the best around by far, but this is how I did it:
