  1. No. The model will have failed a Ml duel, while Pandora will have succeeded on a Willpower duel.
  2. I've been considering running him just as an Outcast in Tara's crew. For 6ss he's not too shabby, even without the M&SU support.
  3. If you look at Lynch's Addict upgrade, it's further proof that Attack Actions and Damage Flips are separate things.

    Tara crew

I've played about a dozen games with Tara, and I really don't get the impression that she's OP. My games with her have generally been pretty close, save for the couple of times when I've screwed up with her and just seen her crew evaporate on me. She feels about on the same power level as the other masters.
  5. I thought the old cowboy/samurai Ronin were a good example of this very thing. Cowboys with katana and all.
  6. The model has to take the Fears Given Form test first, as they're beginning their activation within range. Then, they would have to take the Horror test after either: a) targeting Sir Huggles with an action, or ending a move action within his melee range. And yes, Fears Given Form affects all models, friend or foe. Sir Hugglesbottom is a very scary monster.
  7. Making a model Everburning also "tags" them for Sonnia for the rest of the game (or until they stop burning), letting her ignore cover and LoS when she makes future attacks against them. If you light up a model and it runs away from her, back towards the rest of its crew, you can just have Sonnia drop Fire Blasts of Dooooom onto the opponent's crew from behind a building, wall, or line of witchhunters without having to worry about repositioning for a clear shot. It's also pretty good if you can tag an enemy Master or beatstick early on; the Burning condition (and the subsequent damage) just keeps stacking higher and higher...

    Lady Justice

I had a recent game against a new player who was playing Lady Justice against my McMourning list. My opponent made very good use of Lady Justice's Restore Natural Order, essentially wiping the board clear of poison tokens on three separate occasions (including those on my poor, poor flesh constructs). McMourning got himself tossed in a box for a turn, which ended up being worse than paralyzing him, as not only did his lose his entire activation, but it also took his Catalyst aura away for a turn cycle. Lady Justice proved hard to take down with her blind charges and self-healing abilities, and when I charged her with a Nurse in an attempt to get some Poison on her so that McMourning could end her, she just cut the Nurse right in half with her Riposte. We ended at an 8-8 tie - on turn 7 - and I have to say, I was really impressed with what my opponent was able to do with her. She didn't have any upgrades, so it was just meat and potatoes Justice with a giant sword and a dislike of poison. McMourning didn't have a whole lot to do with the bodies, which was probably for the best, as Lady Justice and the Judge kept most of my peeps from dropping bodies when they died. Had I been playing someone a bit more corpse-centered like Nicodem, or just a few different upgrades, it would have been a real pain in my bottom. My opponent had a great time with her, and has mentioned that she's really looking forward to another game. So, from a completely subjective viewpoint, she was fun to play against and held her own against McMourning, despite being controlled by a new player (and I wasn't pulling any punches, either). I think that some masters just seem really boring to some players. Lilith does nothing for me, but one of my friends loves her to death. *shrugs* That's why we've got so many Masters to choose from.
  9. That was a great battle report, thanks for posting it!
  10. Yup, so long as it's on the correct base size, you're fine.
  11. You've only got seven models in your crew, and that's including the two free Vikis that you're getting. Maybe it would help to try to drop a couple upgrades or more expensive options and get a few cheaper, more numerous models on your side of the board?
  12. Yes, everything with +X stacks with itself. Burning, Poison, Focus, etc.
  13. That's pretty much how we've been playing it here. Even the new people we've been demoing the game to have just automatically assumed that's how it works.
  14. I rather like the card layout, myself.
  15. Well, for one, when you're at a gaming store it's much easier to just open a book and show someone the new characters. if you have to pull out your laptop, plug it in, boot it up, connect to the internet, then download the Wyrd chronicle to show them the new characters...well, any interest you've created has pretty much evaporated at that point. I imagine that it's easier if you have a smart phone, but those really aren't ideal either. Best case scenario, you have an ipad or something similar that allows you to show off the art/fluff, but those aren't exactly common (at least, not in my area). You can also leave a book on the countertop at the game store, allowing people to look through it and decide that they just have to order this master or these minions without needing a computer nearby or even having to be at the store.
  16. I would rather have two rulebooks with rules in each of them than separate faction books (which I never heard of as anything more than wishlisting). It's one thing for someone to flip through one or two rulebooks to look at the different masters, but it's another entirely to flip through seven books to look at the masters. Not to mention the price point that pushes on dual faction masters. We have people complaining now about having to purchase two $8 arsenal decks to use their models. Can you imagine the fallout from telling them they have to purchase two $30-$40 faction books to do the same? I just don't think that faction books are a very good idea.
  17. There's been some discussion back and forth about whether or not there will be a book for the wave 2 models or whether they'll just be released as cards, but I really hope that Wyrd goes with the first option. Just in the month that I've had it, the M2E book has been amazing for getting people into the game, as they'll pick it up, look through the art and rules for Masters and models, and find something that just hooks them right in. A book for the wave 2 models would be great, not only for the sake of getting people interested in the other half of the models, but just for giving background fluff for the models that new players would otherwise be missing. That's very important for Masters, obviously - without her background Kirai is just some asian chick that likes ghosts, and not the tragic figure that she is, for instance - but it's also important for newer players learning where the other models fit into the Malifaux world. I really hope we get a great book for the wave 2 models, like we did for the wave 1 models.
  18. We've been using 35ss for demo games, and it's been working pretty well. It more or less comes down to either a starter box or a starter box + 1 model, and it plays just fine as a game of Malifaux. I think that a beginner tournament/game at 35ss is very doable and quite a bit of fun.
  19. This is more for the purpose of theorizing than an actual list, but what about Pandora and nine or ten Sorrows? Feasible, or just silly and ineffective?
  20. I never really cared for the Inquistor-scale miniatures. I'd rather have minis that were the normal size, as they work better with standard DnD/Pathfinder gaming mats. Inquisitor-scale miniatures made it difficult to accurately represent distances of more than thirty feet or so on the table, which meant that every fight either had to start close up (which isn't realistic) or had to abandon a gaming mat entirely (which defeated the point of using the minis in the first place).
  21. Not to mention all of the post-Gencon shipping that's been going on.

    New models

It looks a lot like the 1st edition art, so...yes?
  23. If you copy One with the Night, how are you getting Tara unburied and back on the board?
