  1. I think you'll be fine. Last time I placed an order I paid only 10$ in shipping to Canada and I got the whole neverborn minis from the last book so I think it was like 4 or 5 miniature boxes total.
  2. there's a tutorial on miniature mentor too. But massive voodoo is one of my favorite blogs. don't hesitate to contact Roman and Rafa, they are great at answering questions and very friendly
  3. hummmm let's see WFB (sold) W40K (sold) Mordheim (sold) Necromunda (sold) Battlefleet gothic (sold) Confrontation (I'll keep those forever and I'll be buried with them) Warmachine/Hordes (still playing cryx and Legion) Hell dorado (sold) Urban War (sold) Alkemy (sold) Eden (sold) Infinity (Yu jing but I have no opponents...) Malifaux (just starting) puppet war (just starting) so to answer the question : no
  4. I agree that some models should have some instructions. Yin had some but it was really not necessary while Izamu didn't and I had to fiddle with the arrows before figuring out which was going where.
  5. I believe the minis are very well detailed, maybe less exagerrated though. The new plastic allows for some crazy dynamic poses and is much easier to work with. I'm very satisfied by it and love the fact that folds are shallower. Real clothes don't fold that deep to leave crevasses for washes You do need to be careful though because some parts are extremely small and delicate. The ashigarus's spears and Yan lo's staff are examples of this. I'm currently building the Yan Lo crew and I'm digging all the details in the armor and the tiny flute the niece is playing. Awesome stuff IMO
  6. try having kids, going back to school, buying a new house, watching all the series you missed over the last couple months and having more than one hobby! Yeah I know what you mean... At least my wife is very supportive of what I do.
  7. Hi guys, I was putting Izamu together last night and decided to cut his face in half to keep only the lower part with the nose. so the top of his faceplate was shaved off for a samurai armor look. I was wondering if anyone had seen or done such a conversion because I'd like to see it painted for reference. For those who don't know what I mean here's a picture of a mempo: http://www.welt-der-samurai.de/pics/mempo.jpg I didn't had time to take pics last night but I will as soon as the base is done too.
  8. Yeah I know but a mini and even though I'm a hage android nerrunner fan with my wife, I don't plan on hunting down any of the goodies because they are goodies. Big art means nothing to me when it's shuffled in a 60 card deck. One of 6 or 8 minis on the table or a whole crew means a lot though. And yes I can't wait to see the new sculpts because I really like the previews we got ( lady justice might get a little haircut though). Sorry if I'm coming across as a whiny player who can't get all the new toys he wants but, yeah alternate minis like the dead justice, nurse and Miss Terious are just must have for me. If I could change the way things are done for FFG and all the other companies I would because it creates a market for rare goods and the ones without money are left out. I do have money and I will track down everything I want but I don't like it. I know it's just a hobby but this trend sucks. What I meant for the LCG's is that all the cards get the same print treatment in the expansions. Core sets should have a set of 2-3 also IMO.
  9. Yin Miss Terious I love all the brand new plastic minis they are great! but the two above are my best most preferred of all
  10. I'm sorry I don't know what NE LCB means. Once the sculpt has been paid for (the sculptor wages I mean) and the mold is done isn't it more economically viable to keep making a few at a time or to simply discard the whole thing? They are actually getting rare sculpts though. If not for the fact that you loved the look of the minis would you have been drawn to the game if it had been played with only colored glass beads?
  11. Sorry Fetid but I disagree with that, I understand what you are saying, it's the same thing yes. But the difference is the cheaper version would still be available and I for one would go for that one since I don't want to pay for the bling that doesn't add anything to the sculpt or abilities of the model. It would at least be an alternative to "nope you don't get anyhting at all too bad for you" My example included the Kingdom detah minis. I missed the white metal versions when it came out on Cmon but I got the resin one and I don't care man, they're the same sculpt in different material. Sure I don't have the limited one but hey I have the mini and I'll make a cool diorama nonetheless with it. But if it could just be replaced by special fate decks, shirts, dice, pieces of terrain or crazy tokens than I would just shut up because those are not the basic foundation of the game which is models, they're extras. ---------- Post added at 12:18 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:11 PM ---------- Unfortunately that's the only way for me to ever get them so I'll pay, I sent you a pm That won't change my opinion though, I find it really sad that it's creating a market of rare minis that only a few will be able to enjoy.
  12. Yeah I know that but they're availble for a few days only. It's such an elitist way of thanking the players. Just like the CCG tournaments I used to participaste in, the players with all the good rares would usually have a better chance of winning and would get more free stuff and rares, he would open the packs, take the rares out and give the rest of the crap to all those beneath him. I say the new players should get some goodies too, how can they get better if they only play with the scraps? It's a little different with miniature game you'll say but the concept if the same, the lucky ones who were there or ordered during these 3-4 days are the only ones who'll be able to get the cool stuff. Why not just make a pimped version for the ones attending and a regular one for the rest of the folk. I'm not a collector in the sense that I need the shiny version, I just want to have access to the cool swag too even if it's the plastic version without the foil stat card signed by the sculptor. you know what I mean... I think that has worked for other companies and would be good for everyone. People who want to spend hundreds of dollars on ebay can do so to get the shiny version and I get the cheap one I'll be gaming with. Win win situation.
  13. Ok so as I wrote in my other thread I love the new plastic minis and I ordered a bunch. I was very excited browsing throught the images and picking my next model. Than I saw a dead justice box set double faction both Guild and Resurectionists WOOHOO! and how about that Miss Terious, pure awesomeness, knowing that Perdita brought my attention to Wyrd in the first place so many years ago. Now how can I get my hands on those they're hard to find on the store... humm keep on googling and WHAT! exclusives ooooww F&%# that S*@% man, I hate products that I can't buy. I hated when Rackham did it, I hated when Alkemy did it and I still do more than ever. I used to play CCG's but stopped just because of the fake value given to rares and legendaries. I hate having to hunt for exclusives and having to pay big bucks to have a chance to own them and all the ebay crap that people do with those. I switched to FFG LCG'S instead, no more crap, everything's in the box. Man, the minis are the essence of the game, I want to be able to get them especially when they are that cool. I quit other games because of that factor only. So when I see these box sets unattainable unless I'm willing to shed over 100$ on ebay it makes me pretty F&@%#ng angry. so, WYRD, it might just be me, I hope not, but I think anyone who feels the same should say it out loud. I want to be able to get all the cool minis, I have a familly and won't travel to Gencon, ever..., That means I'll never be able to get the next cool stuff that's being produced for this year and the coming ones, nor will I ever be able to get dead justice or Miss Terious and that sucks! There is no point in creating gimmicks and exclusive offers like those, why not just make some cool tokens or other gaming aids, lithographs or anything else. The minis though, seriously??? They're why we buy and invest in this game in the first place, I'm insulted when I can't buy one because I can't travel to Gencon, or they're out of production because it was last year's exclusive and I just started collecting Malifaux. I think it's a cheap gimmick, that's encouraging dishonnest people on ebay. Just like the foil c ards in Magic and the foil covers we used to have in comic books in the 90's. At least Alkemy's designers had the good idea of stopping that pratice and making all their sculpts available for everyone to enjoy. Why not just make the exclusives in white metal or resin instead and sell some plastic kits for the rest like Kingdom Death has been doing? I don't know put a little certificate of authenticity with a number or whatever, then everybody can be happy! Anyway just my two cents and my plea to Wyrd to stop this nonsense!
  14. Hi, first post here and I had to make it about the new plastic minis. I lurked around for a few weeks and noticed that quite a few people were not that excited about the new plastic range the studio is going for. I learned about Malifaux when it wasn't even Malifaux yet, there was just a few cool minis released without any system to play. That's when I purchased Perdita because she was just so nice. I bought the 1st ed rulebook 2 years ago along the Kirai crew but apart from putting the models together didn't do anything with it. then 2 years later, I see Toshiro and Yin, and then the master of the path box set and after that the dark debts box set. WOW! what wonderful minis, I thought to myself, I've always been interested in Malifaux anyway so why not? So I bought everything along with the books I was missing. Now back to plastic: Those are the most beautiful plastic minis I ever laid eyes on! Delicate and intricate, I love the details. The Oirans are awesome, Izamu... Wow and everything else too. I don't mind the small parts like Yan Lo's beard, that's a small price to pay to have such beautiful and dynamic minis. And plastic is much easier to assemble that all those small antennas on my Yu jing models from the Infinity range. I can't wait to play my first game and see what 2.0 is like along with the new plastic Kits. I'm a long time skirmish miniature wargamer/painter and I have hundreds if not thousands of models from many different companies and game lines. So I just wanted to say how happy and excited I am about these new models and can't wait to see what comes next. Now this is my very positive happy review of the plastic range but next are my thought s on exclusive and collectible models, not so happy about that...
