  1. Hi all, since this seems to be the place Avatar trading is collected at the moment I'll throw my lot into the ring. I've got Kirai (Vengeance) and Zoraida (Fate). I'm primarily looking for Leveticus (Entropy), may be persuaded on Viks, Pandora, Colette, or Sonnia if I've already secured a Levvy.
  2. I'm a little disappointed there's only one Cat King in the box. I may not have played much Hamelin, but there was seldom a time I only needed 1 Rat King. And between the actual box's 4-7 cats, and 4 more cats, I really don't need more cats. Guess I'll make myself some Rat King proxies or something.
  3. Not a big huge number, and it is something I did actually run once, but a (total cost) 17ss, 10WP model (Because I most often play vs Pandora and her crew...). Declare Thunders Hire Hannah as a Merc (11ss, 8WP) Give Servant of 5 Dragons as an upgrade (12ss, 9WP) Hire Oiran for Appealing (17ss, 10WP) For added fun against terrifying models, bring Kang.
  4. I'd like to see Alternate models put in there, perhaps under a special heading in their respective faction. I'd also like a X/3 or X/2 option for the painted tag, and the addition of a built tag that works similarly. I've got a backlog of models that i own but have not built, and an even bigger backlog of built but not painted. Some of them are only bits of the 3 that come in some boxes (I currently have 2/3 Terracotta warriors built and painted, for instance. Or 1/3 Dead outlaws built, but none painted)
  5. I've had this come up once or twice, and we've just made in the moment rulings, but the wording on Nether Flux is different from Counterspell, which has been my argument that it strips all suits in a duel. I argue that anything you flip during a duel is associated with your Ml, Sh, or Ca as it's added to it to generate the total, whereas for Counterspell, a flip isn't printed so it's not ignored.
  6. Thanks for giving your source Mach_5, but Page 6 of the rules manual pdf (The one available on the Malifaux website) doesn't seem to say anything about when 2 Effects come from the same model, what order they should be activated in. The closes thing I can find on timing is; "Each sentence in an effect's description must be completed before moving on to the next sentence" But that is only in reference to a single ability. Which part are you interpreting in your post? I don't have the 1.5 large rules manual, only the first core one. Bought it once with my friends and we didn't play it again for years but now I'm getting back into it and seriously.
  7. My question is one that can relate to a number of models, but I'm specifically here about The Stolen. Do abilities activate in the order they're printed on the card, or is it a chosen thing? For example, when The Stolen is killed, do you make the WP duel first, and then receive -2WP? Or can they be resolved in any order?
  8. That's something I was considering. A few more ideas I had for it were that each player could only affect their specific crew, and everyone has their own control hand to affect them, however other models on the team are considered "Friendly" for the purpose of targeting effects. I was considering perhaps I would have 2 decks/Control hands (I do have 2 Fate Decks. I'm looking at possibly becoming a Henchman and I'd need the 2) as well as them, but I felt that without the restriction of being able to affect only half of the 50SS crew it woudl effectively double my hand size, and I'm using Mei Feng and the Emberling who has Arcane Reservoir, so I'm already +1 card. I suppose it would be offset by my knowledge of the game (They've played at most 2 games and only just got their new crews. Mine's new to me as well, but I believe I'll pick it up fairly quick) and the other offset is that my crew is a full arcanist Mei Feng crew. It consists of: Mei Feng Emberling 2x Coryphee Mechanical Rider 3 Rail Workers Kang (Proxy) Rail Golem The other crews have a little synergy, but nothing like a crew put together to synegise. The other teams will be: Ramos/Rasputina Hamelin, The Plagued/The Viktorias McMourning/Seamus All of those are starter boxes as well.
  9. So I've been getting some friends into Malifaux and was looking for a bit of help to suss out some potential rules for a large, team-oriented multiplayer brawl. My current potential ideas consist of: 3 teams of 2 and me on my own team where I, for all intents and purposes, count as 2 players (They are all fairly new and I'm onto my third crew). Using the hiring rules for a Brawl, except each player has their own crew within the team. At 50SS this gives them each the usual 25SS for hiring which fills out their starter box sets nicely. Strategies as normal, schemes as Each Player picks one (I pick 2). Activations consist of moving 2 models per team (1 per player) VP awarded as normal 2 Fate decks/Control Hands/Discard Piles are used (1 Per Player) At the moment I'm just toying around with these ideas and would appreciate some input. The idea is just to have a big fun game where everyone has something to do each activation and can play Malifaux in a more team-oriented setting.
  10. Big thanks to all who pointed me to The Combat Company, now I too can vouch for their great customer service. After I sent the order off, I got an e-mail telling me that 2 of the things I bought were out of stock (Copycat Killer and Victorian 50mm Base Insert). They said they'd be able to ship out the Killer by next week, and offered me a change of Base Inserts since they didn't know when they'd get the Victorian ones back in, so now I'm getting Ghost Town ones. They also sent a reminder saying "Terraclips needs the Combo Connector pack and you didn't buy one. What do you want to do?" which I thought was very helpful of them. I will just go and buy the connectors at my LGS, but I'm loving this place so far.
  11. I have already looked at Defiant Gaming, and their stock didn't appeal to me too much, but free shipping on orders over $100 in Australia? That is the perfect store for me. Thankyou for bringing these to my attention Ratsmitglied.
  12. I am outside the US, yes. I'm in that wonderful little westernised country in the middle of Oceania. I speak of Australia. Where everything costs twice as much and shipping from nearly any other country that has anything I'm after costs an arm and a leg. I have found a few other online stores that have the box sets, but they're either sold out of Terrclips and Storm of Shadows, or they don't have them in stock period.
  13. At the moment I'm trying to see if it's more expensive to make a large order through Wyrd, or pay the extra cost of my LGS. For a roughly $200 order from Wyrd, my postage would be $78. That includes: Terraclips Streets of Malifaux, Terraclips Clips, Storm of Shadows, Mei Feng Box, Coryphee, Mechanical Rider and 2 50mm Base Inserts. Buying Streets of Malifaux from my LGS is $10 more just for that box, and about $3 more for the clips. I don't know how much it would be to have them ordered in and if they would put that cost in as well to the price that they would have charged anyway. I suppose I have a lot of research to do here.
  14. Oh, I know a few retailers around my area. I've bought Malifaux from them before. They're my backup if I couldn't get them directly from Wyrd, though I will need to go through Wyrd for Storm of Shadows and Terraclips. Fortunately (?) I'm the only one of the group so far going for a Ten Thunders crew.
  15. Thanks for all your responses. The Store I was referring to was the Malifaux Store accessed from malifaux.com, but I guess it just means we'll have to put in the order and go get the remaining box sets from my LGS. They still have most of them in stock, there's not many in my area who play. The reason I need to put in an order through Malifaux's store is that my LGS doesn't have any rulebooks past Rising Powers, no Ten Thunders boxes and a limited selection as is. They also don't have Terraclips which I intend to buy as well.
