  1. For the Viks, I have to go with "Ungebrochen" by Doro For Soniia, "Bombshell" by Powerman 5000. For Raspy, "Winterborn" by Cruxshadows.
  2. If any of you are familiar with the game of Battletech, you will recognize the name Ryoken. Battletech is what got me into mini gaming. I spent most of my time playing the clan forces. A particular 55 ton mech they use is called the Stormcrow, the designation it was given when first seen by the enemy was Ryoken. Now, Ryoken sounds a lot better than Stormcrow, but why choose it as a name? Well, in one very large match, (55,000 BV as it is called in B-Tech, some where along the lines of a 200-300 point match in M2E) my Stormcrow was engaged in multiple duels. After winning the first one vs an 85 ton Warhawk, the second one to a 70 ton Summoner, and finally a third one to a 70 ton Nova Cat. In the last match with a 45 ton Grendel he lost his final weapon and limped off the field. That little guy not only took out three mechs, but he still made it off the field alive and in three pieces. (both arms were scattered about) I was so impressed with that little mini, that I took his name and made it my call sign for most games I play. What can I say, mad props to a medium mech with some moxie and heart!
  3. Not quite a Lure, but Ama No Zako has "Promising Whisper." Depending on what you target, it can function as a Lure where needed. Against Constructs, Vanessa can use "Command Construct" in a similar manner. Montresor has "Toss the Noose" which can be used as a Push, but the distance is straight to base contact and requires suits. While none of these are "Lures" The first two are (0) actions and the last one is an attack. Just something to consider.
  4. Another thing to consider for Conditions, especially "Burning" is the fact that it does not contribute to Victory Points. This is noted as the second question under "Core Rules" in the FAQ. That means that if your opponent kills an important model for a Strategy or Scheme due to the Burning Condition, they get nothing. This alone helps to keep Burning from being OP. It might be tough to deal with, but not impossible.
  5. It is not specifically stated in the rules, but it is hinted at with two statements: 1. Paragraph 3 under "Blasts" first sentence: "All models whose bases are touched or overlapped by one or more Blast Markers are affected," It does not say the the model would be affected by each blast marker, just if it is touching or overlapped by one or more that it would suffer the effects. 2. Paragraph 5 under "Blasts" first sentence: "It is important to note that the original target does not take damage twice from the Attack." This sets the precedence that a target would not suffer damage more than once from a Blast.
  6. In nonkilly objectives, still use them how they are designed. Let the rest of your team worry about objectives. Ronin are great to tie an enemy up after they drop a marker or two. Sac them late game for more SS depending on your objectives. Bring Killjoy to punish your opponent for trying to counter kill for kill. Friekorpsmen are still awesome runners. The Viks like to kill, let them go crazy, but it doesn't mean the rest of your team has to play the same.
  7. If you decide to go the plastic route, might I recommend http://corseceng.com/barrier-fence/ The 15mm fence with "acrylic rods" is cheaper over all without having to grab more rods than you need. Also, the fences look great, I have used them for quite some time.
  8. We have one Local Game Store here in Oak Harbor. It does not support Malifaux. All special orders I have done for it have been met with a "Sure, we can get that." Followed by nothing at all. The Seattle stores are far better from what I hear.
  9. Welcome to the game. I am north of you in Oak Harbor (Whidbey Island area). Getting down there is going to be a bit more on the difficult side for me, but I wanted to give you a big welcome. I know Davicusprime is down in Auburn as well, he and I play about 6-9 times a year. I hope you all enjoy the game, and if you get up on the island, send me a message. Ryoken
  10. Frustrations with the store aside, I am more frustrated that Wyrd wants to make this exclusive to storefronts and leaves a lot of players, who may not have access to that for one reason or another, high and dry.
  11. My local shop only likes to support WH40K and look down on you if you play something else. They tolerate other games being played in their store, but every time I have tried to place an order, they have never bothered to place it. I have asked about it and they just give me some halfhearted apology. I do little other than buy my paints from there now. So I will not even have access to these boxes, and that makes me sad. I am probably going to have to pay out the backside for the model on ebay.
  12. I lived there about three years ago. I keep in touch with several people there still. There is a game store called TBS Comics (stands for Trade Buy Sell). There used to be quite a solid group of Malifaux players there, but from what I understand, the scene has died down. I do believe that most still have their armies though. Introducing them to 2E should not be hard. Warmachine is the big mini game in the area though. Good luck!
  13. Keep asking away. Lots of people will be happy to help, so never feel like you have a stupid question if there is something you might not understand. Enjoy the game, and if you are playing the Viks, I hope you enjoy them. They are my personal favorites, lots of really fun tricks and I always feel like I am riding the edge of a razor until the end of the game.
  14. You are correct. Vanessa can not take it. A lot of people, myself included, jumped the gun on that theory. So no, Vanessa cannot use the upgrade.
