  1. That was what I was thinking, but I held out some hope the rules had been released and I could not find them. :-) Thanks!
  2. Does anyone know where I can find the quick-start rules from the Free RPG day adventure? I am going to be running it, and I would love to give my players the quick start rules. I am hoping to run TTB from time to time on my normal RPG table. Thanks for your help! Unfortunately, the one-shot recruitment drive from Wyrd does not have the quick-start rules as part of it. I was very disappointed to see that.
  3. So, I have Miss Step, and some other models that I would be willing to trade (1st ed Guild), and a few misc other ones. I am looking for the Through The Breach books. I'd prefer trade, but I also have some money I can toss in.
  4. I will admit, I primed Shang and Ember black... and am REALLY regretting it now! They needed to be white. In general, I go with black, but I should go with white, when painting yellows and whites. Probably reds, too.
  5. I see you succumbed to his baiting...

Interesting. I wonder how many henchmen we are going to be looking at.
  7. Listened to some podcasts today. From what they are saying, there is nothing to fear. You will have to get some new cards, but that is really it. Not a huge deal. I just got into it in Feb, and after what I have heard, I am pretty excited, really.
  8. I have to admit, after listening to Tartan Skirmish, I am pretty excited for the changes. Having to buy ALL new cards, sucks though. Currently, I have most Archanists and 10T, and the vast majority of Guild. I then have a few other models.
  9. I tried some non-airbrush paints, and quickly bought some airbrush paints. It was just 1 less variable to play with. Interesting about the reds. I have shot some reds, and it acted... strangely. A little bubbling at the tip. At the time, I was painting a heart red for my engagement photo-session. It was not a big deal. Not 100% sure about how it will be on an actual mini.
  10. I just got my gamin this week (along with a rail golem). I am looking forward to using them, and am really glad this thread is here. Great info! I was leery about using them, until now.
  11. Thanks for the writeup. Can't wait to get it well read. :-)
  12. And... the rumors are now fact. :-)
  13. I am really getting excited for this. A LITTLE annoyed that my new books are getting obsolete so soon... but for better rules, I can accept it.
  14. I've been watching this videos as well. I've also read a bit about using future floor wax as a thinner. It is an acryilic medium. Though, it does leave the minis a bit glossy... and smelling fresh. :-)
  15. It seemed forever for my TC20 to ship too. I have the one with the tank, probably the same thing. Be careful, they scoot. I had mine on my counter, and it took a tumble. Thankfully, it still seems to work fine. I've been getting Createx from Hobby Lobby lately. I thought about Spectra-tex from Michaels. If you get their app on your phone, you can go in and get the paints at 40% off. So far, I like the Wicked Color line from Createx I've heard a lot of good about Model air, though. I just figured I would go with a bunch of "inexpensive" paint, and then fill in the gaps with Model air.
  16. Sounds like 4 new minis, and a book. Doesn't sound too bad.
  17. Been working on that. :-) Hope to get her playing Guild. Lots of strong, female characters. That is pretty much my take, as well. I am curious about the portability of them. Is there any real variation, or would the games just be another terrain. Basically, a $40 piece of terrain, or encounter location. Truthfully, that is my hope. That is also why I phrased my comment the way I did. :-)
  18. I agree about that. BUT... I don't know that I need new minis at this point. I have a table full of minis and a fiance that is complaining that we can't sit and eat dinners there, as is. :-) But, I am curious about utility. I don't play ressers, so having a resser crew is not overly spiffy. Had it been 10t, then yea, I'd be happier. If it is a 1-shot thing, that you can only play it one way, well, that leaves something to be desired, as well. Will I buy it... well YES... I just don't WANT to shell out that much. :-D
  19. With it being an "encounter", and having rules for playing between 2 other players, that sounds about what it is like. It sounds really interesting. I am worried about the price, but I hope it is a lot of fun.
  20. You have very defined roles. Striker(DPS), defender(Tank), etc. It plays very similar to WoW. And, I am talking about the video game, not the RPG. I don't know much about the RPG. Third ed had more of the generic feel. While yea, you HAD those roles, they were not quite as rigidly defined... and didn't have the "tools" to do the job as effectively.
  21. Low level, they are gods. High level, their damage output goes down. While a mage (or other caster) is mowing down dozens of baddies with a spell, the fighter is maybe, if lucky, taken 3 minions down. It seems to me, that 4e had far more healing needed to run. It was a very different way. Healers had to heal, and keep on healing. 4e still reminds me of World of Warcraft/EQ type game, in rpg style. A well focused fighter, though, is pretty deadly. My fiance is playing a pimped up archer. She does more damage than pretty much anyone else. The frequent feats and other doohickies really reamp up. But, it seems the ranged/archer classes are a bit better than up-front fighters for doing that.
  22. I am REALLY hoping it plays like the old TSR Saga system. It is still my favorite gaming system to this day. I think it could have been extended, as well, in many ways. I just loved the 3 fold mechanic that cards gave you. The Saga Fate deck acted much like Mali's fate deck. You had suites, you had 1-13 (no jokers, if I recall), plus some other mechanics based on if a card was high or low. So, there were actions that you would want a good, meh, or bad reaction. The good were the lower 1/3 of the cards. If you were trying to do an action, you wanted the higher cards. Plus, you wanted suites for trumps. It was intricate, but in a good way. I will have to admit, when I heard about Through the Breach, D&D Saga system flashed back to me! :-)
