  1. Nicely done minis. Also funny to see someone had the same idea as me with AHamlin keeping the top off the pillar. Though all I did was stick a mass of greenstuff to a base and push the mini onto it, seems to work so far keep it up I want to see how you paint him as I need to strip him and do it all over again
  2. This is probably not helpful but official crew creator does not allow Nico to Brawl with Levi. I would take it as Wyrd's intent that this pairing is not allowed. I don't think they are far back enough rules wise to change that ruling, They are both book 1 masters. After facing him, Levi is powerful enough without someone raising zombies upon zombies about the place
  3. Had a game today at 35 I brought lucius, Drill Sargent, Warden, Lawyer and three Guardsmen. Flipped Turf War (later realising I should have swapped but never played it so thought why not) against 35 point misaki. Important models on his side was the Torakagi and Kang. Now had I did ONE thing different I would have gotten 8 Victory points (possibly). A guardswoman (in this case) was about run into the woods on the left side of the table, having censured Kang from walking and "Halt!" with the guardswoman, so all she had to do was walk up, get stake claim from the forest, breakthrough AND land turf (possibly) BUT he swapped Kang with the Tora (which I hoped to god he had forgotten he could have done something like that too much wishing me thinks), walk, free ranged attack, poisoned and with that she would have died from the poison on activation and all I had was lucius and the lawyer my side so that was it. Had Kang not been friendly he would have to have went for the lawyer at best and the guardswoman would have walked up merely to hopefully hide for a turn.
  4. Lucius with Riflemen appears on paper to be a monster with Riflemen, 12 shots with Drill Sargent giving positive flips to attack. On top of that 3 shots will be 2CB higher while Lucius gives the the extra three shots (thus 12) from Issue Command. and when it comes down to a pinch, get lucius to punt off the Drill Sargent/Guardsmen get reactivate and get another 3 shots in Running a 30SS Thursday and I'm going for a wall of bullets accompanied by a one trick pony (risky but why not? Don't know until you try) Warden is going to fly up to grab the treasure then run all that back to hide I would do that list, sounds fun and as I say, you don't know how it will do if you don't try it.
  5. Nice work Yeah no snow my end but there won't be any more Brass Monkey children this year its that cold. Shrinking models is a pain, a pain I never felt until recently, I have a whole bunch of stuff looking for some coating and its just not gonna happen.
  6. Very nice, only thing I'm not too keen on is the middle Illuminated floating. When I get back to painting my Lynch crew going to take more care this time
  7. Its just A4 foam boards sheets I found in Hobbycraft.
  8. Dunno about a close up, those are only the photos I took but I do have the how I did it. I only use GW paints at the moment so can't say for other ranges as to colours and washes.. Basecoat the skin in Dawnstone Mix Dawnstone and Eshin Grey 1:1 and water this down and apply it to the recesses. Then take Dawnstone and White Scar 3:1 a layer, blend if you can (I can't), this on for a first highlight. Basically bring this down to 2:1 then 1:1 and you can do extreme highlights, if you so choose, in pure White Scar. Storm's skin is the exact same except once done wash the whole thing in Drakenhof Nightshade (Wash) and BAM your done.
  9. Never really noticed, was trying to copy the box and I guess since I went darker on Storm, Snow stands out a lot more, never the less cheers, always like criticisms, only way to improve and notice things. Only reason I haven't taken photos and posted the rest as I'm not really a "Show and Tell" kinda guy, in fact posting as many threads and answering threads on here is probably a record for me Working on Lucas box right now for my first tourney (and unless I get some games in beforehand will be my 4th game plus when I do go ) I'll fire them up since I'm going to put a bit more work into those. I'll perhaps get the other guys snapped up as well, you will probably notice now sporadic my crew collecting and painting is
  10. Hey guys, how are we all? I posted this on another forum, and haven't had much said about it But really should have fired this on home turf. A few things about this model, one it was the first time I did anything with a base, usually I just use sand and a bit of flock or now just the textured paints from GW (the only paint range I use) not entirely happy with it (you can see the foam is dissolved) but its still better than naught. Second he has had a unintended surgery. He leapt off my table 4-5 times due to the unstable nature of the bottlecap I had him sitting on while I worked (Which is now rectified) but I guess Karma showed its face after the 6th time and claimed a sacrifice of some digits, he now has a dedicated pointing hand. Anyway here is the mini, pretty chuffed with him, a bit more than my usual tabletop standard but not by much. I have more guys done, but more just tabletop, and not photos. I'll keep this more for the ones I put a bit more extra time on. So let me know what you think, My next big Malifaux project is a Rail Golem, I'm being made to do it as a step by step but really just want to get it done perhaps you guys can be the judge if I do that or not. Anyway way I'll stop rambling and happy malifaux-ing.
  11. I would go for 40MM. If more than one person has ended up with that packed and it follows the book then I think the chances of a misprint in the card is more than likely than packaging AND a book being misprinted. Look at the Lucas McCabe and the Yan Lo boxes with people saying about misprinted cards, so it must be an old forgotten problem. Even their online store says 40mm OK scrap all of this, if it got changed then there's your answer
  12. Might be quite interesting, I'll keep an eye out if I'm about.
  13. Heh you beat me to it David, was going to private message you today but there you go. Joined the group, might actually use my facebook account for once Well if anyone sees this thread David provided the link and I'll see everyone on there.
  14. Cheers for the welcome. Yeah I could just do that, even thought about becoming one but I don't think I'm worthy yet But I'll wait and see if this thread brings up locals I hadn't a clue play and see what happens. If not come next year when I can be bothered to learn driving I can just pop down to Livingston every now and then.
  15. Howdy people, names Mark. Been a hobbyist since I can remember (which isn't much considering I'm only 20) and sadly the only hobbyist around my parts. Well at least that's what I believe and wondering if perhaps I am wrong in that regard. So cut a long story short, anyone around the ML1 area in Scotland or a bit outs that I am unaware of? I need some games going, ones I don't need to try and drag un-hobbyist mates into playing I'm always on the forums but never really active, and I can't exactly say that will change, I'll try But hope to meet some folk, digitally and physically and perhaps fully bring out my hobbyist side. If that didn't sound awkward anyway
