  1. I always take Arcane Reservoir, on all masters cause free card especially with someone who would love to have an 11 + of in his hand for summoning more stuff. I also bring Under Pressure with him because it brings so much, and takes no AP to get the use. The last slot is saved for either Electrical Summoning or Combat Mechanic depending on the matchup. Seize the Day is great, but he tends to get more from the other upgrades in my experience, I like it with more aggressive masters/crews, not swarming ones.

  3. 12 coming from 3 prompts with overpower triggers and then Raspy's activation of 3 Curses with overpower triggers. I was going off just using the masters themselves before adding in Cassandra, a Child, or Energies. Raspy is a dumb master, I've shelved her for another year.
  4. Colette + Raspy = Profit?!? Prompt + Overpower = potential 12 shots from Raspy with all her LoS shenanigans from a mile away. >_<
  5. I love how flavorful the game is story and how that is adequately reflected in both the models rules and the gameplay (unlike pretty much every other big tabletop game). I also like the massive diversity between each game. You're never just trying to kill X thing(s) or trying to capture some point or blow it up. You can be doing all of that at once plus more in Malifaux and the next game, you could not be doing any of that but other awesome unique interactions (see what I did there). Lastly, the card mechanic is amazing. It eliminates a lot of the randomness that you can encounter with dice. With dice, you can roll all 1s and 2s while the other guy keeps rolling 5s and 6s over and over which makes the game disheartening and takes out some fun. With the cards, if you flip bad, you at least know the good stuff is inevitably coming and can play that into your strategy (same applies to the other player in the same boat). Its awesome! Oh yeah, and the models are sexy!

    Lenny doesn't care about the horror duels since he's too dumb to realize he's paralyzed (thanks to Numbskull). Lure and Obey are his bane though. My general approach with Lenny is to provide larger threats that'd they'd want to prioritize first, if they leave them, well they usually just return the favor after Lenny bites the dust. Mostly through Gracie, Francios, Old Major, the Sow, War Pig, Glowy things like Killjoy or Lazarus, and stuff along those lines.
  7. That's how they played it the 2nd time it happened since it makes sense and seemed like an oversight in wording. But the guy playing is "that guy" when it comes to rules and played it the other way saying that's how the ability was worded and order of words and such. >_>
  8. So today we noticed a lack of clarity on what exactly goes on when you use Concentrated Deformation with the Abominations. The ability reads: "(1) Concentrated Deformation: Sacrifice this model and three other friendly Abominations within 2" and LoS to summon a Desolation Engine within 1"." The confusion that came up is whether you removed all the Abominations and then place the Desolation Engine within 1" of where the acting model was at the time, since that's order the ability reads. Or if you place him within 1" then remove all the Abominations like with most summon abilities (if not all other). The only reason it became an issue was because the Abomination that used the ability was behind the other 3 and was able to remove them to put the Desolation Engine where the other 3 previously were and able to get the range on swinging on another model versus having to walk over where the Abominations had previously been. It also allowed for the Desolation Engine to fit where he normally couldn't have because he could place where the acting Abomination was, but since he was removed before the summon, there was now room. Here's a cheap little diagram to help show. Example 1: a-d are Abominations with d using the ability, E is the Engine being summoned. a b c a b c d -----> d E then remove dudes. Example 2: a b c remove E d -----> (d) with d not actually there but a base to represent where he was Any help would be awesome.
  9. I've always seen Marcus as the nature aspect of magic and Colette as like prestidigitation or cantrip style magic to round out all the general schools of magic. I also see Mei as metalmancer of doom more than fire.
  10. Stash was wicked fun dancing around the markers. Headhunter was very frustrating.
  11. RIW is all Warmahordes on Tuesdays and some random Magic folks. There is no more Malifaux there.
  12. We also play on Sundays (and random other days) at Shenanigans in Taylor, and sometimes Pandemonium (hopefully getting a consistent night set up soon on that one).

  14. Tara can you give you as well. I flip Red Joker almost every game for initiative. Then I die a little more inside.
  15. Well round 2 I fought Hoffman who had all Arcanists with Marcus who brought almost all Neverborn, does that count?
  16. Was a great tourney, can't wait for next one. That last game against Alan was one of the best I've played!
  17. Kalkris is exactly right. I played a lot of Ramos when M2e came out. I had 6 individual spiders and 2 swarms. With his summoning potential, I ran out of individual spiders within the first 2-3 turns every game. My rule was (and still is) if I run out of spiders, I have to go buy more immediately. And now I'm up to 15 individual spiders and 3 swarms. So spiders are the best start for Ramos. Next I'd look for Johan. I love him with Ramos and Bleeding Edge Tech on someone near the spiders. With Df flips from Ramos, Regen 1, and Johan heal, things like Metal Gamin, Spiders, and Rail Workers (to a degree) get pretty annoying to get off the board. Plus Johan gets melee bonuses with any spiders in melee with his target. The -1 Df from spiders is also nifty.
  18. Killjoy could then charge himself if no enemies are in range and you don't want to charge your own stuff.

  20. I have 5 pink, 5 blue, and 10 white with tape over them to write on. This way we don't mix up who's scheme is whose and what markers are corpses or scraps, trees or pillars. Never needed that many, but nifty to have.
  21. Then next one should be from a top down perspective and my camera should stay focused the entire time so I can make the final version 1080p. Also want to have the cards we flip in view. I'll see how it goes either tomorrow or monday depending on what we can use to stabilize the camera. This one was mostly a test run/experiment to see what works and doesn't. Now we know.
