  1. Here are some cuties for you, from left to right. Human Paladin (SDE), Black Rabite (custom monster for SDE), Mousey the Hood (Reaper), Gandalf the Blue Mouse (Reaper), Kobold Knucklehead (SDE)
  2. PT 2 is live! http://thefacelessking.blogspot.com/2012/07/insulation-board-dungeon-tutorial-pt-2.html
  3. PM Sent Morella!! Thanks a bunch Now I've got to get my mouslings painted as well
  4. Lara Croft is from Reaper. Sorry guys, my paintinghas taken a bit of a dip lately, been working on a few other projects (Campaign system for Super Dungeon Explore, and a few custom cards and figures)
  5. Mmmm, Super Dungeon Explore takes the cake for cute models. There are pics of the lot of them in my Non-Malifaux thread. http://www.wyrd-games.net/showthread.php?32917-Glenn-s-Non-Malifaux-Figures&p=421514&viewfull=1#post421514 I wish I could get a hold of all the Legion of Justice and Caeke figures, but unfortunately they are LE.
  6. While not having blatant nudity, even some of the Wyrds are pretty sexualized as well. Sword Vik is running around in ass-less chaps and a thong . . . I personally could care less. Taelor has thong straps hanging out, these things are just as suggestive IMHO. But the men are just as sexualized, big muscly men are what we are taught is attractive, therefore our male figures fit that description. I could care less how sexualized my figures are, I used to be a bit more prudish, then I realized it doesn't matter. I just bought a bunch of Amazons from Shadowsea, they are all topless, their breasts are a reasonable size, but they are still topless. I'm not going to pull them out in front of my kids, but still. Also, Tentacle Bento is Soda Pop Miniatures card game, everyone I know thinks it's a riot, mind you most of my friends are young women who have watched tentacle porn at some point. They think it is one of the silliest card games ever, therefore I bought a copy to play with them. We also play Super Dungeon Explore a lot. They are both lighthearted jabs at the Anime Genre in different ways.
  7. Do you mean the figure from the Super Dungeon Explore post? He is part of the Super Dungeon Explore board game. So he comes with the game, they don't carry singles. However Hoard O Bits occasionally has components, so you can try there.
  8. No need to wait to see finished boards, here are a few pics of previous ones I made. My new one will have a more castle theme to it with a teeny hint of steampunk, the crowing on the walls will have a cog pattern, but that's all I intend to add as I don't like steampunk gone overboard. Also, Omenbringer, I do have a crafter style hot knife, but mine doesn't heat up enough to be very useful, also, generally people don't have a lot of these tools, so I'd rather stick with the regular knife for this tutorial. You'll note I mention the table, but stress it isn't required as for a cave style layout it isn't needed. The above photos did not use any hot wire tools, save the one oddball room, that room is why I decided against using hot wires for this purpose. To make these work in a Malifaux setting would require a bit of a different approach, but as stated the fundamentals are there.
  9. Kaylee, Book and Mal (not pictured) are from Heresy, Jayne I got from Reaper (also not pictured)
  10. Generally yes, it works much faster and creates cleaner cuts on the thinner board. On the thicker board I can go either way, it depends on what I am making. My current project (that I am using for this tutorial) is a castle or temple interior, so I use the wire cutter to make smoother walls, however all the wall will be covered when I am done anyways. I intend to use some off cuts to show a variety of methods for crafting walls. A handheld cutter works well for general terrain, but it poor for straight cuts. It's all about using the right tool for the job.
  11. While this tutorial was not written for Malifaux, the techniques are perfectly applicable to other uses, and could be used to make a variety of useful boards. So thought I'd share here as well. http://thefacelessking.blogspot.com/2012/07/insulation-board-dungeon-tutorial-pt-1.html Still working on the second half. PT 2 http://thefacelessking.blogspot.com/2012/07/insulation-board-dungeon-tutorial-pt-2.html
  12. I am not familiar with the model, however another option is to cut a wedge out of the figure and then flex it together, this CAN work, but not always.
  13. Thanks, Super Dungeon Explore is my groups favorite game and get's played often so it deserves to be well painted. I've go a couple more pieces to go and some custom parts that need stat cards and such.
  14. Alrighty, let's see here. Super Dungeon Explore (love this game ) And I got a few more Malifaux figs in the mail, they are on the bench
  15. Your Hirst Arts molds were very well used, generally people just make boxes, you really put them to proper use there. This is shaping up very well, congrats.
  16. I'm cheap, Folk Art paints. Would I do better with nicer paints, perhaps, but why?
  17. I have the Viks, not enough Guns. Every Suckerpunch girl is armed with at least one gun. I may use them as Ronin when I need as that would be totally suitable.
  18. Waiting on some new figs actually, my only two crews are buried down somewhere . . . Did finish up my Sucker Punch girls though. Ortega's perhaps? http://thefacelessking.blogspot.com/2012/07/sucker-punch.html And finished what Relic Knights I currently have, need to order more. Been thinking about using Little Red and her Puppy as the Dreamer. http://thefacelessking.blogspot.com/2012/07/relic-knights-daphynes-crew.html
  19. So I was more productive last night and did up a few more characters. I wonder if the Sucker Punch girls would make a fun Ortega's Crew? Lara Croft - Tomb Raider Amber - Sucker Punch Rocket - Sucker Punch Prefect Valeria - Relic Knights
  20. Ew, no, I want something that is vaguely generic, and mildly foreign, not something for lizardmen. That would work for some, but this layout will be largely used by humans. I want something that is passive.
  21. Actually, anyone know where I can get some Small Buddhas? Not the fat kind, but the Tibetan styled ones, looking for 1-2" (need 2) and maybe a 4". I've been cruising online, but having a hard time finding exactly what I want. I'll not be able to finish till I find them. Another similarly styled seated figure would also work. I need them for the section ends and a focus piece.
  22. Rather than making individual posts, I am trying to clump my works together as I noticed I can't edit titles . . . Here are a few of my recent Non-Malifaux figures, some of which may visit Malifaux on occasion. Hisami from Relic Knights Shepard Book Kaylee The 11th Doctor (Hmm, Ramos?) More pics and such on my blog, which will also cover my Malifaux Figures. http://thefacelessking.blogspot.com/
  23. I'll take a look at those, thanks. I don't intend to use real roots though, I tend to find they don't match well, you have this surreal environment with surreal figures, when you through some reality into it it breaks the vibe and shows you how fake everything else looks. There will be a pool at some point as well, but I'm not sure I can handle a waterfall as much as I'd love to, my ability with water has always been crap. Though I did design a really cool layout for one, I doubt I'll try to put it in.
  24. The big trees and vines will be mostly made from pipecleaners that will be coated with thick plaster (or something to that effect), I though of using Sculpey, but getting the vines to wrap would be impossible.
  25. Been ticking away at a new terrain project, building a modular temple based off of Angkor Wat in Cambodia. Since I hate typing the same thing, text is at my blog, and here are a couple pics. http://thefacelessking.blogspot.com/2012/06/temple-wip.html Really happy with how this is turning out, hopefully I'll get it done within a few days to a week. Comments and criticism are always appreciated.
