  1. Thanks! Been busy painting up my Infinity starter set today.. Alguacils just needed to be red in my opinion (I don't like painting that colour much)... Lighting is shoddy, its all a bit brighter in real life. (Hope its okay that I post some infinity pics here..) Still have to finish the bases of course, but the PVA needs some drying time. edit: and finished!
  2. Hello all, thought I'd share my work with the rest of the Malifaux community. I'm mostly into miniature games for the games and not so much the painting and photographing part of it. Still I am proud enough of my work to share it with you guys . All photo's are taken with a phone camera, so apologies if the lighting and quality suffers. First off, my Ophelia box set: Secondly my Rasputina box set, with some self made icewalls. Probably won't be updating the thread for a while as I am using these two forces to get a grasp on the rules before expanding, while also painting up some Infinity stuff.
  3. Almost done with the gremlins, just basing left... Sadly Pierre had to wait, because I never "assembled" him because of the issue with the base. He and the Rasputina crew will get put on their bases this week and perhaps he will be finished by the end of the week.
  4. Thats good to know. I've painted up Ophelia and Raphael already (model a day keeps the flu away) and put the first bit of green on Francois. Since I won't be able to attend my gaming club this week and already have something else planned for next week, I hope I will have at least most of the models of my 2 crews painted up by then. The Gremlin crew will be finished for sure
  5. Hello all, About a year ago I ordered 2 starter boxes for Malifaux and lost interest pretty quickly as both boxes had packing issues. The Ophelia box came with the wrong base size for one of its models and the Rasputina one came without any cards. Wyrd send me replacements, but the cards took 2 months to arrive and Malifaux had ended somewhere in a storage box. But now I'm dusting it off and putting paint on the mini's! Anyways, i'll be looking at starting the game at my local gaming club and wonder which books do I need to buy? Rulebook 1.5 seems like a given, but what are the other books for?
  6. Holy moly! Almost a year gone by, and Malifaux mostly been gathering dust... Sadly my first two starter box purchases came with defaults. The Ophelia box was without a proper base for the mini with the pigbomb. The Rasputina box came without the cards! Contacted Wyrd about it and they promptly send me replacements, but it took over 2 months for the Rasputina cards to arrive and my interest had waned. However, yesterday I suddenly felt an urge to get my Malifaux stuff out again! Painted up Ophelia and now working on Raphael. Also ordered the 1.5 rulebook and some blue'ish crystals to make Rasputina's icewalls with. Really got the motivation again, and hopefully it will stay long enough to paint up the Ophelia starter box and Rasputina starterbox in the next two weeks. With two painted crews I should be able to convince some people at my gaming club to try the game out with me
  7. I've shot another email yesterday evening, so that it would arrive on working hours at wyrd. Got a reply a few minutes later, that they will sort out the problem. Original mail never arrived or just got lost i guess .
  8. Thanks for the advice guys. My gaming group consists mostly of Warhammer players, of who a couple also play warmahordes/uncharted seas/infinity. I'll try and "demo" the mechanics and stuff to myself first, so I got a general idea of what could work then.
  9. Hey all, I have bit the bullet and purchased two starter boxes for Malifaux last week. The ophelia box has arrived this week in the mail and is already put together except for Pere Ravage who got supplied with the wrong base size. So while I wait for the Rasputina box to drop by and try and get a 40mm base for Pere from Wyrd, I want to get some opinions on how to play these two boxes against eachother. I picked Rasputina and Ophelia based on the suggestions from the malifaux wiki page and my own preference modelwise. However since I want to get my gaming club into the game as well, I'm wondering what would be the best way to demo these two crews against eachother. Should I just start out with a "slaughter everything", or would there be some strategy that would be ideal to demo the game? Thanks for the advice guys! (and dangit, how did I end up already ordering young lacroix and essence of power?!)
  10. Hmm after reading this topic, I have tried sending an email to Nathan about a missing 40mm base in my Ophelia starter set. All the gremlins came with 30mm bases, even Pere ravage who supposedly (well according to his card and their online description) should be coming with a 40mm base. Sadly lipped bases are something new to me and I have no spares, so I contacted Nathan. How long does it take for a reply on average? As it has been 2 days now.
  11. Hey all, I've decided to finally start playing Malifaux! I live in the Netherlands (Zaandam) and have been doing various wargames for the past 4-5 years, like Warhammer, Infinity, Uncharted Seas and Flames of War. With GW doing another price increase, the plan to start a 40k army with 6th edition went out of the window. Thus I had some extra cash and went looking for models to buy! In comes Malifaux, I had already considered the game over a year ago... but didn't start it in the end. However after not looking at it for over a year, it seems the game has really become much much more interesting. So many starter box sets that look awesome, and so many different styles! Thus I have ordered two starter boxes last week, Rasputina and Ophelia. I picked these boxes mostly based on the models contained. I love the gremlins and the Rasputina box also looked really cool + the suggested expansion models really caught my eye. Do you guys have any feedback on how these 2 boxes should be battling eachother for a demo game? I been looking at the online rulebook and notice there are loads of strategies and schemes and that you select your crew based on them. However I have already picked these two crews, thus am looking for strategies/schemes that will make for a fun game between these two starter boxes so I can demo them at my local gaming club and persuade others to also start playing the game. So any suggestions would be awesome!
