  1. Can confirm that Toni vs LJ does not end well for the blind lady. Had a pretty much uninterrupted duel between them in my last game, and it was brutal. Ironsides walked away untouched (though Justice Leaped away just long enough to skewer Howie before she went down).
  2. Mei Feng Forgeling Kang 9 Metal Golem 10 (w/SS Cache 2) Metal gamin 5 (w/Magical training 2) Rail worker 5 Neil Henry 8 Mobile Toolkit 4 5 cache I'd take Hold up their forces and Assassinate. The first couple turns would be spent buffing, building the scrap network and claiming some turf markers. Mid game would be for schemes with Mei and Neil attempting the Assassination while the gamin and Rail worker engage for Hold Up (then teleport away if needed to counter scheme). The Golem and Kang are mostly distraction/threat pieces that can scoot to the far Turf markers and probably lock them down, or bottle up the opponents beaters as needed. End game would be the traditional desperate scramble for VP.
  3. I've used the put Ice golem a few times, and I've never felt it was wasted points. Granted, a one of those was with pre-nerf Colette (where he Smashed Perdita after killing Santiago. Good turn!). Even after that however, I've found value taking him with Raspy. Is he the best choice? Pretty much never. But he is fieldable. I accidentally used a DA to pull him into Smash range of a very surprised Chumpy one time, so that was a fun. He's still terrible, but I just wanted to show a little love for the big guy. ;-)
  4. I'm advising tt. It seems that one of the strengths you enjoy the most in Outcasts is the wide variety of play styles. I would suggest that the Thunders have a similar (if not quite so disparate) breadth of options. As others here have mentioned, you never know what you're going to see when your opponent declares tt. Secondly, also as mentioned, they don't seem to be seeing a lot of love as a faction, but more so as parts to fill in other factions. It might be fun to see what you can do to change (or confirm) that opinion. Third, hobby wise they would seem to be the middle ground. I don't know you, but you apparently enjoy the hobby side of minigaming a fair bit, and this gives you the opportunity to get invested in your models without getting buried by them (thus leaving you time for other games). Just one man's two cents.
  5. Hi! I'm looking for regular Steam Arachnid cards. Three if you have them. I have a variety of outcast (wave 1 & 2) and tt (wave 1) options barring Von Schill and Mei Feng respectively.
  6. I'd recommend a gradual change rather than a sudden one. It's more interesting and believable (as much as believable applies to a setting like this. Lol). Finds himself quicker to anger. Uncharacteristic outbursts. Catches himself barely in time to avoid choking someone to death. Finds it harder to resist his impulses. Etc
  7. A couple basic concepts: +mental+ As time passes his personality begins to fragment. He might talk to himself or switch between demeanors. Or... + physical+ His senses start to change. He begins to perceive things in new ways. He can hear life, or smell a person's emotions or something similar. Perhaps there's some visible (but concealable) sign of his change. Anyway. Hope that helps
  8. I'm not sure anybody mentioned it on here, but...Hey, thanks Wyrd for offering any kind of promotion, but especially bad ass promotions like this one! Sure, sometimes it's a couple extra bucks to buy from your FLGS, but I know it's where I go to play games, meet new nerds and b.s. about all the stuff I love. So with this offer, I get to give money to people who make a game I enjoy the hell out of. I support the guys who pay for the space I typically play it in. And THEN! You guys give me cool stuff for free? A genuine thanks for yet another symbol of your willingness to not only put up with our collective geeky whining, but to continue to pump life into the gaming community as a whole. (Sure. I know there are business reasons too, but...still
  9. At this point, I have drawn the bj in my opening hand 6 out of my last 10 games. Quirky luck, I know. I guess that makes me kind of an expert, though. :-D I typically hold it for at least the first couple of turns. In three of those games I held it until turn 5 (okay, in one I held it until turn 6. Kinda forgot to toss it). In two, I dumped it mid-game during the "make or break" turn noted in previous posts. The remaining game saw Kaeris get a little too close to Somer, and had to lose my whole hand in turn 3 (bj, and a pair of deuces at that point). Like most of Malifaux, there is no hard and fast rule for this. All comes down to play style and personality.
  10. I have to concur with several of the above posts. Avoid the death ball when you can. If you have to go in (turf war for example) try to minimize los/charge lanes. Use movement tricks for positioning, to disrupt his combos, or maximize yours. Accept that whatever goes in is probably not coming out. Attack Nico directly where you can. Either you'll get him, or force him to burn resources and minions. Either is a win. Focus on your schemes. Get your 6 and a few strat points while attempting to deny his. Pretty standard in any game, but particularly important to keep in mind here.
  11. I've said it elsewhere, but the Ice Golem really shines with Collette. Speed isn't an issue, and if you plan properly, getting Smash off is a breeze. Knowing that it's on the table can "freeze" your opponent. ;-)
  12. All I have to say is Collette + Ice Golem = horror! You can absolutely get away with no major hitter with her in most strats, but if you can find a way to squeeze in even a moderate beatstick (someone mentioned Johann/a as a great option) you can really either influence or hurt your opponent without paying out the teeth for it.
  13. So one of the first things I thought of was that the gremlin c's should have a spell or ability that gives them terrifying. Cause seriously what is scarier than ******? Maybe "Make the kiddies scream" and maybe a matching spell/ability "Make the kiddies laugh" that gives slow, or some similar effect. ---------- Post added at 12:58 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:52 PM ---------- Oh. Also Ruby sounds like a mini coryphee. So maybe some similar rules with a slant towards acrobat rather than dancer.
