  1. @Nathan Caroland This is great news. I think this is a great direction. I've written an email to my local store and pointed them here, so they can see/understand this.

Furthermore, they are a new store and have had issues getting product to players. For example a person interested in starting the game tried to order the Latigo posse and the store put the order in. Its been almost 3 weeks and it still hasn't shown up (from what I understand, attempts by the store to get status have gone unanswered). Hopefully, they submit their issues via the contact link (which I'v also pointed them to).

Regarding 'pre-release' boxes/models. Is there any chance they will be included in Event Kits? Since Event Kits are only used for in-store events it could be another way to drive players to in-store events. Just a thought a local suggest after seeing this so thought I'd pass it on.

    Thanks!

  2. I'll be in the Tabletop Games area doing Malifaux Demos for anyone interested 10am-6pm Friday March 10th. I'll be with the New England Privateers, we're all demoing different games in the area. Thanks to them for offering a badge.

    When: March 10th 10-6

Where: PAX East, Boston MA, Boston Convention and Exhibition Center

    See you there

If a previous round had data incorrectly entered (say a player points this out after the fact), I'm not seeing a way to go back and fix the mistake.

Yeah I noticed this too. If a new round has started I wouldn't changed it but if it was an error before a round starts it'd be good to be able to fix. I agree.

Yeah but they could do that without envy. do you double focus?

Correct, one possible order of operations is:

    • Envy activates Envy tells Collodi to Focus, handing out Focus to (almost everyone), and does whatever else he needs/wants
    • Arcane Effigy goes and gives radiance to Collodi who in turn gives it out to just about everyone (can than accomplice if want to Collodi)
    • Collodi activates and gains fast and My Wills 3-4 models (changelings, trapper, whatever) or moves and attacks. whatever is necessary
    • Changelings activate and focuses (if necessary for range) and than takes a shot again (than reposition with their zero if necessary)
    • Doppleganger focuses, takes her zero (hopefully with a tome in hand), gets free focus shot and then does something else with her other 1AP
    • Trapper activates and focuses (if necessary for range) and than takes a shot again

All of this is done with radiance causing card drain or burning on your opponent when hitting from 24" away. Positioning matters, so there may be some changes to get shots lined up but this is the general idea.

So how do you use envy? Give focus to a trapper. Then have the trapper shoot with my will? Then go around shooting stuff with envy?

@Sybarite even better....Envy uses his zero and has Collodi take the Focus action (which is why this works) and than that hands out Focus to more or less the entire crew (including the trapper). So it's like giving Collodi one more free AP cause it frees him from focusing on his own turn.

I'm really liking the look of this list, so much I just purchased the Envy, Trapper and Collodi Models off Gazdook Gaming. Wondering my group is starting a Shifting Loyalties Campaign could this Crew work in a Growth League? Anything I could add small wise to keep it in the Shooting theme it is in?

Just to be fair. This list is amazing and you'll make zero friends and people will slow play you because they have no idea how to beat it.

  9. I wanted to use it this weekend for CaptainCon but found it too hard to validate data quickly, especially during check-in. I think its a great tool just UI need some cues.

    Feature Requests:

    • When checking players at event start, "total number of players" would be good to see at the top.
    • Have a # next to each player so if you scroll down they're all numbered
    • Data validation, ensure players aren't entered in multiple times (matching on username/name)
    • When checking player at event start, the latest player added should be at the top to verify, having to scroll up and down constantly was cumbersome with 50 players
    • Would be nice to setup strategies, deployment, and schemes before an event (however not make them visible until the round pairings are displayed), if this is already possible I didn't see it.

    Feature Questions:

    • Not sure if this is possible since we reverted to our excel sheet, but is it possible to change values after a round starts if there is an error, can we go back?
    • Is there a way to manually adjust table matchups as to make sure clubmates aren't matched up against eachother first round?
    • Does the system follow a true Swiss pairings, or the Swiss-like pairings Gaining Grounds uses (i.e. players in round 1 may play again in round 4)?
    • How does it handle random drops? For example, I had someone get sick at the event...how does it handle that?

    Bugs:

    • When using a "-" in someones name it errors out. So Jean-Luc (or similar names didn't work). Not sure if this happens with other special symbols
    • When checking a player in that had already registered sometimes it wouldn't let me move them up to checked in, had to delete them and re-add them

I really want to use this software as I think its really a great idea. Can tell you guys put a lot of heart and work into it.  I played with it a bit before the event and it seems great. But when it came down to the actual event it was nice to be able to see all the data in excel easily.

    Cheers!

I don't know about anyone else, but these pictures aren't showing up for me. If they are the results from Saturday they can be found in the post under the one I'm quoting, but I'm interested in how top 8 played out on Sunday.

Also had a super fun time, even though I ended really far down in the standings (42/49). My first tournament and I did better then I thought I would (thought I wouldn't win a single game, did manage to go 10/7 round one :D ), and I hope to enter more events in the future. Thank you for running such a great event!

Should be fixed now. Glad you had a fun time! Hope to see you at more local events. Many can be found on the New England Facebook page or on the pinned post at top of this forum. @Raclesis

For clarification, it says in this post that it will be a GG 2016 tournament, but the event registration and schedule say 2017.  It is 2017, correct?

Also, I think it's important to note that this is a 64 person tournament; that's huge!  Have there been larger Malifaux tournaments?

Sorry that was a typo, its been fixed. I sent everyone a Rules Packet who had pre-registered by Monday of last week. You should have received it if not let me know.

Here is a link to it in case someone did not receive the emial:
