  1. Would you still flip a card if you did not perform a Walk Action? Disengaging - "If the Attack hits, the disengaging model may not perform the Walk Action."
  2. Keep in mind you need to use it at the start of a model's activation. I've seen a couple of instances where someone fails to kill a target or accomplish a task and then they remember the upgrade and try to use it.
  3. large rule book pg 52, Conditions - Fast "The Fast condition is removed at the end of a model's Activation"
  4. You seem to have a grasp on the actual rules. Was there a question?
  5. if your are controlling both the attacker and defender you may also choose to have the defender "relent" pg.27/little book or pg.33/book1
  6. further more, if a model is reduced below 0 wounds is this equal to "0" wounds? there are several references to "0" wounds while the rule book mentions a model can be reduced to "0 or fewer wounds"
  7. further more, if a model is reduced below 0 wounds is this equal to "0" wounds? there are several references to "0" wounds while the rule book mentions a model can be reduced to "0 or fewer wounds"
  8. The problem that I have had is the use of "timing of triggers" (laid out in the rule book) to explain the timing of abilities (not discussed in the rule book). This question was brought up before the last FAQ, but WAS NOT addressed.
  9. Regardless of how anyone feels about them, the time for rewriting there rules is long gone. Personally they are one of MANY models that will be complained about based off initial impressions. However labeling them or the players who use them [regardless of the # used or the skill level of your opponent] as "douche bags" is weak and quite insulting to players.
  10. I imagine that you are referring to the Waldgeist action "Germinate". It does not block LOS.
  11. In regards to chain activation, Alpha works the same way regardless of using it on a friend or foe.
  12. Has anyone used the old multiplayer rules? I'll have to dig them up but i'm curious how much work would be required to polish them up for m2e.
  13. Just thought I'd point out that Sybelle being able to use soulstones doesn't matter. The only thing that matters is that the model you are controlling can use soulstones. Ramos being a master can use them (out of your pool as you did) so everything was within the rules.
  14. I would suggest reading The Hanged card. Neither of you are 100% correct.
  15. Thanks for the responses. I think i'll make somewhere in the 8-10 range and maybe another 5 generic counters for the various strategies and such.
  16. Hello, I am in the process if making some 30mm scheme markers for my crew and was wondering how many everyone feels is an appropriate number? There are always some back ups available if I run out. I would just like to have a good number of "custom" or crew-specific counters with me.
  17. Hello, I am excited to see the new Hoffman cards are out and can't wait to start playing him again. I was approaching a state of competency with the v1 Hoffman yet didn't play him during the beta so I'm a little clueless on all but the basics that I read on the cards and questionable holdovers from v1. I would appreciate any insights on running Hoff in the new edition.
  18. I took a black marker to my mini rulebook and solved the problem.
  19. Yes I hope it is included in the FAQ as there seems to be a good split on the issue. FWIW the local sonnia player plays it that the model dies without gaining the burning condition. Damage and Wounds "If a model is reduced to 0 or fewer wounds it is immediatly removed from the game as a kill." Searing Mark: All models damaged by this model gain the burning +1 condition. "damaged" is past tense implying that damage has been done. In my view if you have to check and see if damage is done then the dg and condition are not being applied at the exact same time. I hate to make inferences from other rules but next to nothing in the game outside of opposed flips happens at the exact same time. ------------------------------------------- As a separate yet related issue. If a model can be reduced to fewer than 0 wounds, Sonnia's -Reincarnation- upgrade should be errata'd from "reduced to 0 wounds". Or a model with less then 0 wounds could use an FAQ to equal 0 wounds as this opens up another can of worms.
  20. As a known "power gamer" (booo, hisssss) and a sonnia player I think you should provide some rules quotes and page numbers.
  21. I'm not sure how or if it will effect the original question. Burning should be applied after the damage as any damage reduction abilities that reduce the damage to 0 would negate the Stalkers 'searing mark' ability. Damage has to be dealt for burning to be applied. However i'm not sure on the timing of calculating the damage total/applying the damage/applying the condition.
  22. ^^ Fees +1 is a condition that is applied to a model and not a damage modifier. Therefore I see no precedent/simulairity with the Guild Lawyer's Special Damages attack action.
  23. An interesting question as most of the strats & schemes reference "In" rather then the term "within" used in actions and abilities and elsewhere in the rules. I think it would be safe to assume that in regards to m2e "within" would be acceptable. No distinction is made between "within" and "completely within" in the m2e rules unlike the previous edition.
  24. I would argue that no damage is dealt as there is nothing to modify. Page 46[b1] / 51[RM] -Damage and Wounds- paragraphs 2,3 & 4. "In Malifaux, how much harm a model inflicts on another model as a result of an Attack or other Action or Ability is represented as the damage (Dg) value." "Damage can be inflicted either in a static amount such as 4 damage, or in a variable amount through a damage flip." "If damage is modified by a static value (such as the Armor ability, or a Trigger), the final damage after the damage flip is modified.
  25. Keep in mind that being engaged only prevents you from placing a scheme marker via the (#)Interact action. Various abilities, such as "finish the job", allow scheme markers to be placed regardless of engagement.
