  1. Got to say I wasn't a big fan of this one myself. I ended up using green stuff for the lower arms to make it look like he's grabbing/ holding something in front of him (opponent). Had that kind of grab and hold them and use the other arms to tear you up and eat you. Nom nom nom. *Burp* -Archangel-
  2. I had that exact same problem. I have painted for a very long time, but I used to just use flocking to cover my bases. But Wyrd makes such nice looking ones, I couldn't pass it up. So I've now learned how to pin. I'm a huge fan of GaleForce nine's stuff. You can pick up a hand drill with bits and rods off of Amazon here... http://www.amazon.com/Pinning-Refill-Gale-Force-Nine/dp/B001DZXAWG/ref=sr_1_63?s=toys-and-games&ie=UTF8&qid=1348782287&sr=1-63&keywords=gale+force+nine If you just want the rods get these... http://www.amazon.com/Pin-Bits-and-Refill-Kit/dp/B00294RJZY/ref=sr_1_64?s=toys-and-games&ie=UTF8&qid=1348782403&sr=1-64&keywords=gale+force+nine Personally I used the second set with a dremmel knock off (Sears Rotary tool), but I also buy better bits. The Dremel bits are a higher quality and don't break as easily... http://www.amazon.com/Dremel-628-Piece-Drill-Bit/dp/B0000302Z3/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1348782480&sr=8-4&keywords=dremel+bits You can also pick those up at Lowes hardware store. Lastly, I use the GaleForce nine Hoby Glue and the rapid cure (when needed) and it is a God send... http://www.amazon.com/Gale-Force-Nine-Hobby-Glue/dp/B001CTD2XU/ref=sr_1_sc_14?s=toys-and-games&ie=UTF8&qid=1348782259&sr=1-14-spell&keywords=galeforce+nine and rapid cure... http://www.amazon.com/Rapid-Cure-Hobby-Glue-Accelerator/dp/B001N189OY/ref=pd_sim_sbs_t_3 I found that the rotary tool is easy as long as you start slow, then increase speed. Just have to make sure it doesn't go through. Hope that helps! -Archangel-
  3. Perfect! What I missed out on was reactivate only gives 1 AP. Like I said, I'm new. So thanks for all your patience and help! OK now back to the main thread with this question... Say the Dreamer and LCB use up all their initial AP where Dreamer brings in LCB and he finishes with a trigger "All Done" placing the Dreamer back on the table. Obvioulsy with the eratta even if he had any remaining things to do, The Dreamer can't so end of turn. NOW The Dreamer gets reactivate. Can he use his (0) ap and +1 Instinctual using one of those for "Nightmare Friend" to bring in LCB who would then have 1 AP +1 Melee Expert to use because of 1 master? Or is LCB out of luck because he was already burried (AKA only Dremer gets to use up AP, sorry Chompy)? -Archangel-
  4. Thanks for the quick response Adran. That was especially helpful in figuring out the effects. However, I am still a bit foggy on the reactivate for the Dreamer, so lets break it down a little further... So on The Dreamer's original turn he burns all his AP doing a 0 Action "I Can Fly" moves 2x going a whopping 14 inches, then uses an +1 Instinctual 0 Action to use "Inflict Dreams", Just so that he uses everything he can and it ends his turn WITHOUT bringing in LCB. Now he gets reactivate, but lo and behold he's near his intended target/ reason for burning his movement. Now he has a whole new set of 2 AP to use right? So he could Use his 0 Action to say use "Unhinge" then uses his +1 Instinctual to use another 0 action "Nightmare Friend" to bring in LCB. That would leave LCB with 2 AP and his +1 "Melee Expert" to use as he saw fit right? -Archangel-
  5. I and my gaming group are new to Malifaux. And I took the dreamer as my master because he looked cool and other factions had been taken already. Another took Kirai as his master, so this thread was very interesting to me. Boy was I in for a load of headache trying to figure out how the Dreamer and LCB works. Honestly, I still don't get it. Though the Dreamer is still a lot of fun to play, as is the game, there are so many many things the break the Rules that it's really hard to wrap my head around it. Now more has been added with brilliance, etc. So with that all in mind I have this to say... 1: Thank you Rules Marshals and Wyrd employees for putting up with this. In the end it's just a game and some players can be petty about it. You take it all in stride and I appreciate that. Thank you for answering our questions to the best of your ability. And making rules clearer when we don't get it. 2: I understand that reactivate allows a model to have another ativation right (whole new set of AP)? Does Dreamer/ LCB then count as 1 model because of One Master? AKA, if the Dreamer gets a whole new set of AP between him and LCB, if he burries and LCB unburries it's supposed to give LCB the remaining AP to use. Why wouldn't he be able to use them? Is it because of the burry/ unburry eratta? If so, that's fine, just want to know. But it would seeem to me that the one master would supercede the eratta because it was reactivated. AKA, dreamer is already burried/ unburried in this scenario so he gets another set of AP because of reactivate. It's not like the Dreamer doesn't get to do anything because he was already burried/ unburried, so why not LCB because of 1 master? Again this is ONLY in the case of reactivate. I agree with the rules as they are, for slingshot purposes. 2b: A side question then, say the dreamer used all his AP as the dreamer NEVER burying and becoming LCB on his original turn, then gets reactivated. Wouldn't he be able to continue and bury becoming LCB then and use up other AP? 3: How does stuff like poison or other ongoing effects work work then? Say LCB gets poisoned and The Dreamer comes into play, does it transfer to The Dreamer? If not does LCB get his HP burned away as he's burried? Or does it put the poison on "pause" and go back into effect when he unburries next? Gotta say, I appreciate the ending the slingshot effect as that was broken, but in doing so, it seems to have opened up a whole 'nother can of worms. Thanks again! -Archangel-
  6. I'd take the dreamer and green stuff a teddy suit on him. You could snip off his blankie and have him holding a teddy bear by the arm (or foot). Missing an arm with stuffing coming out (use bits of a cotton ball or q-tip). Probably easiest to green stuff a teddy too. Baby Kade does have a teddy, but buying his model to kit bash seems expensive compared to GS. I love the idea using Puppet Wars Teddy as daydreams though. -Archangel-
  7. I'm really new to Malifaux as a game. Our gaming group just started playing it a few months ago. I picked the Dreamer crew because I liked the models and the concept. Then I saw all the spiffy previous nightmare editions with LCB and Teddy and got all excited. Sad I missed out, but excited for this year's nonetheless. So when I saw this year's I had a hard time with it as well. I loved the previous nightmare edition models and was kind of bummed that this one, though with all kinds of cool bits, ended up being prety much terrain. Very cool terain with shiny bits, but still terain. Don't get me wrong, Hanging the designers from a cool tree with shiny bits is extremely funny and I love that there IS a hanging tree. But at $80 it's a bit steep. I decided to pass on it so far. I was hoping for a playable model even if it was another faction than mine. Personally since they brought out 10T, thought it would be cool to do a nightmare 10T fig. Maybe next year. -Archangel-
  8. So I decided to have Ten Thunders as my new faction and bought up the book, the box and Yamaziko along with 2 sets of 30mm Zen bases for all the figs to round out my $100. Excited to get them. However, I got all nosy and excited and looked at the Gencon pictures and saw Yamaziko looks to be on a 40mm base even though her description in the online store say 32mm (Typo?). Can anyone confirm if Yamaziko is 30mm or 40mm? Thanks for the help anybody. -Archangel-
  9. Happy I ordered my new book (picked up Ten Thunders as my secondary faction). But had a quick question, are there any new nightmares? Saw there was a new Nephilum and Woe, but I was kinda hoping hungry hungry hippo was. But since he's a totem, not sure how that would work. Looking to expand my dreamer crew. Thanks for any info given! -Archangel-
  10. Hi there, I just joined up today on the board and saw your post, live in the area (Aurora) and have just started buying things from Enchanted Grounds since Attactix closed down semi-recently near us. I run a gaming group that meets on Monday nights and we JUST got in to Malifaux, still trying to learn the ins and outs of it (like how to play) and paint up our minis. So far there are 4 of us with factions from: The Guild (Lady Justice/ Perdita); Arcanists (Rasputina); Resurrectionists (Kirai); and Neverborn (The Dreamer). 1 more who is trying to figure what to do. I am extremely sorry to hear that you are stepping down and ask that you reconsider giving up on all attempts at hosting things at Enchanted Grounds. I know for a fact that we could get 4 or 5 of us out there in the near future (Once we get some minis painted up) to give it a go if you're up for it and scheduling works out. We'd all love to learn how to play the game. -Archangel-
