  1. There are a number of players in Northglenn. Enchanted Grounds might be a good middleground.
  2. FYI to all: Hey, all, since we've got a growing gaming community, we decided to start a Colorado Malifaux page on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/groups/375458059167152/ It has a teddy group emblem. You have now been convinced to join. Also, for WarmaHordes players in Colorado, there's a group for that, too: http://www.facebook.com/groups/ColoradoWarmachine/

  4. I'd love to catch some one-on-one games if we can arrange them. I'm trying to keep my 25 SS crew in my car just in case.
  5. Sorry to hear it, mate. Appreciate the time you took with me. Hopefully the southern scene will see a resurge at some point.
  6. Won't be able to make it today. I've got a big project due Tuesday morning, so all of my non-"Jesus Weekend" activities are pretty much on hold. How was the turnout?
  7. Collodi box + Zoraida + voodoo doll is how I (just) started. Bam, You've got a 25 SS list. Start there and grow out. Zip Collodi around with the Marionettes (have Collodi make them fast then have them drag him along) and flurry, flurry, flurry! Send the Wicked Dolls after an objective. Have Zoraida poop out a voodoo doll and start obeying enemy models. After that, when a Wicked Doll dies, have her summon one, then have it activate, teleport to where she Ravened, then immediately Malice for damage on an enemy. Good luck.
  8. Actually I really like caster kill still ending the game. That means even if you're getting trashed you stand a chance. Protect your king.
  9. Thanks. Picked up my Collodi box, but I doubt I'll be learned enough by then. Still, re-posted this on the RM40k.com forums.
  10. Well, battle engines didn't break the game. I'm hoping for the same with colossals. That said, I'm not paying $135, and I think it'll simply push the game to 75-point standard. Overall, can't say I'm a fan of the power sprawl.
  11. Hey now, Junkie, aren't you letting go of your Zoraida box?
  12. I thought Kirai was #3 in terms of Masters? Yet she has difficulty with the top two Neverborn masters that most everyone else does. Seems odd.
  13. Thanks for the thoughts so far, all. I figure if I can read all the flaws and want to go for a faction anyway, then A) hooray, stupidity; and I can own that decision. So far, I’m still interested in both, even if the Neverborn flaws are mostly, ”People will hate you and think you’re a cheese player” versus game mechanic limitations in Rezers. Here’s my plan so far: Start with one master, then get a second complementary master (read: handles bad matchups of master #1), even if there are a lot of different models between the two. I’m trying to keep it small(ish) with room to expand; meaning, when I figure out I’m full of it in trying to keep it small, then I can branch out. In the mean time, I’ve got a budget like most other people, but would still like to play strong at that the limited model count end. -For Rezers I’m thinking McMourning to start then Kirai. I know, she’s not a real Rezer, but I dig her models (Lost Love especially). -For Neverborn I’m thinking a Zoraida-led Collodi crew then the Dreamer. Given my master choices, which faction is better for that: limited model sets then room to grow? Do these masters complement one another? One of the other big factors is that I’m just not that great of a player. I know that’s not something you’re supposed to say on the internet—where everyone’s got a winning record, right?—but it’s true. I’ve done well with the less-than-optimal choices in other war games with a lot of games and a lot of work, but I think I might try something different this time around, so advantage Neverborn on that front.

  15. Actually, that part sounds appealing. I dig war gaming and all, but I need to be nice to my wallet. Pity the Insidious Madness model is so bleh. Probably still beats buying the entire Rezer faction for Nico though. I play Cygnar in Warmachine, and as much as I dig them and win often with them, I'm not sure if I'm ready to play another less-than-optimal faction, so that works in favor of Neverborn. Pity it sounds like the game is still in need of a Mark II makeover (which I know the forum is fairly split on game imbalance).
  16. Well, y'all are pages ahead of the "Sway Me Away From Neverborn" thread. That has to count for something.
  17. I've found this is a good way to get some honest answers from people who know their faction in and out (not trying to drum up negativity), so can you give me some reasons to not play Neverborn? I'm a big fan of the minor, obscure reasons, too. Basically, I'm looking to run either Neverborn (a Zoraida-led Collodi crew) or Resurrectionists (McMourning), but I can't quite decide. I like Rezer models a little more, but Neverborn rules sound a little more fun. With neither pulling far enough ahead, I realize that I could go either way and be fine, but I'm unlikely to do both. Thoughts?

  19. Maybe it's just the studio paint job, but I'm not a fan of the alternate Zoraida model the way I've seen it thus far. Does anyone prefer it over the original? I'd be interested to see some pics if you've painted yours.
  20. Psht, you play the two hated factions there; why not play Dreamer and Hamelin in Mali-land?
  21. Thanks, fellas; I've got a game coming up a week from tomorrow at Enchanted Grounds. Though I'm torn between Rezers and Neverborn (Arcanists were in there, too, before decisions had to be made) -- namely between McMourning and a Zoraida-led Collodi crew -- I think the latter is likely to win out. That voodoo queen just sounds mean.
  22. Alas, she's a biter. I caught a demo game from the fellas at TEG. There are some rumbling of people playing down south, too.
  23. Alas, so far away for a married fella in Littleton.
