Thanks for the thoughts so far, all. I figure if I can read all the flaws and want to go for a faction anyway, then A) hooray, stupidity; and I can own that decision. So far, I’m still interested in both, even if the Neverborn flaws are mostly, ”People will hate you and think you’re a cheese player” versus game mechanic limitations in Rezers.
Here’s my plan so far:
Start with one master, then get a second complementary master (read: handles bad matchups of master #1), even if there are a lot of different models between the two. I’m trying to keep it small(ish) with room to expand; meaning, when I figure out I’m full of it in trying to keep it small, then I can branch out. In the mean time, I’ve got a budget like most other people, but would still like to play strong at that the limited model count end.
-For Rezers I’m thinking McMourning to start then Kirai. I know, she’s not a real Rezer, but I dig her models (Lost Love especially).
-For Neverborn I’m thinking a Zoraida-led Collodi crew then the Dreamer.
Given my master choices, which faction is better for that: limited model sets then room to grow? Do these masters complement one another?
One of the other big factors is that I’m just not that great of a player. I know that’s not something you’re supposed to say on the internet—where everyone’s got a winning record, right?—but it’s true. I’ve done well with the less-than-optimal choices in other war games with a lot of games and a lot of work, but I think I might try something different this time around, so advantage Neverborn on that front.
