  1. Okay, then nothing really that could be done by the TO. In that case, top event.
  2. Hey @fanteegi thanks for hosting the event. Had a great time and secured my first podium. Hussah. Thanks to my three opponents too, three really great games. My only critique, and i'm not sure if this was something Wayland imposed on you, but the start time changed which then mean either lunch was shortened or the start time was moved back. As said, it could be the venue asked you to move it to allow them to cook more lunches in time. That's the only thing and i'm clutching a little bit, otherwise a nicely run event. Well done.
  3. You have to find space for the Daddy.....
  4. Hi @fanteegi I assume there is no painting requirement (although you do have a best painted prize).
  5. Bishop wouldn't be awful what with his extra AP and decent (ish) damage output. Langston if playing Hoffman would be hilarious. Monster Hunter stalking from the rear seems decent though. all options are likely to be a decent sized target for the oppo too as you'd not want an opposing model in your backfield.
  6. Funny you should mention Lady Justice. I had my first game with her last night against Seamus (classic match-up) and was really impressed with the shear level of damage output and survivability she has. At one point she was down to four wounds but combo'd with the Brutal Effigy and companion (or accomplice?) she managed to heal 4 wounds back then recovered 4 from her 0 action. Seamus on the other hand went down early turn 3. His Boo action is decent and did need a couple of medium cards to pass the terrifying tests but yeah, Lady J's a beast. As for Hoffman, I just feel his options that make him really work are too expensive. I like a balance between activations and power output. Still, this week has seen me take two new masters for the first time and two good games. I win either way.
  7. Okay, so I thought to take a nice shiny new master they said. It's only gremlins they said. Well, Hoffman didn't like Zipp one bit. Okay, lot's of newish pieces for me meant I kept forgetting stuff. Zipp moving your models out of combat to get them away from the 6inch bubble of non ignorable armour means your stuff is going down. Couple that with a chain activating Francois and both Miss Step and Peacekeeper didn't have much of an impact on the game. I black Jokered Damage twice too, but that happens. Inside I was just crying out for Sonnia. Will try Hoffman some more, for sure, i'm just not sold his actions are powerful enough to replace Sonnia or Nellie as yet. Time will tell.
  8. Yeah, i've been taking Big Jake...just with Sonnia. I find his look at cards is really useful too.
  9. For me it's working out what Guild Masters work best with the new round of Strats for GG18. I think Sonnia is a strong pick for Ours so I have that one nailed. Still working out who's best for some of the the others. Tonight i'm playing extraction for the first time this year against Gremlins. Changing the strats etc keeps it from going stale imo
  10. I have been wonderfully gifted one so i'm all sorted now. Many thanks.
  11. UK based. Looking to buy a metal lady justice as above. Price can be discussed. Don't mind if painted etc as i'd probably strip and paint afresh. PM me if you have one you are looking to unload.
  12. the original poster does a challenge each week (month?) to take a model of someone elses choosing and to try and get the best from it. By choice, he'd maybe not take Greed but it's a great exercise in really learning both a models strengths/weaknesses as well as the supporting pieces.
  13. How about a field reporter or two using their assaulted in public trigger for anything tied up with Greed. Really ramp up the damage. The Under Scrutiny trigger would also drain their hand and/or reduce the chances of Greed being hit.
  14. I must be one of the few that'll stand up for metal's. Since the early days Wyrd sculpts, in metal, were fantastic and mostly better in terms of detail on models than the plastics they are now doing. Now, with the improvement in technique etc, i'd say that these metals will be fantastic sculpts and far and away better to paint than anything else we've seen for a while. Interesting to see the points raised to about the plastic guys having a bit of a backlog. If making things in metals allows for better sculpts and a greater degree of control over manufacturing times, i'm all for metals again. Finally, it's better for the environment doing them in metals which could, if you ever wanted them to, be recycled whereas plastic? Basically, yay for metals. Back to the Future part I
  15. Okay, so I played in a small tourney at the weekend and though to try Sonnia a different way, using traps and PF as a target. First Game was Von Schill with a fair number of Friekorps. Blasts don't work against these guys so I didn't get to try it. Highlight however was twice, with Pathfinder on double negatives for Damage (but having hit his ignore armour trigger) Red jokering Damage on his Trapper and his Librarian. Sweet. 7-2 win (messed up Vendetta) Game 2 was against a Collodi list. I'd not played against Collodi before but he his well, pull stuff around the place and put me under a bit. Cards were rubbish early three turns but last two turns killed lots with Sonnia and Samael. Monster Hunters were decent here too. Ended up 8-3 win. Game 3 I knew i was up against a top UK player with Viks. Went for Nellie oddly and it was totally the wrong choice. Should have stuck with Sonnia but perhaps gone more flame wall and denied him area of the table. Lost 8-2 and ended up in 5th. Took best in faction Guild though in only my second event with them. Hussah. My 2nd tourney of the year on Saturday and I can well see the lady of flame coming to the table again.
  16. Ticket purchased. Looking forward to one of your events Troy.
  17. I've not done any of this, all theory, but if you can avoid randomising, then this surely has to be better. As you can cheat down the defence of the PF a 7(tomes) or better can be enough. It's worth cheating in the tomes too i think for the potential damage output. Have a tournament on Sunday and was going to only run new masters but this thread makes me want to run Sonnia a different way now. Will report back.
  18. And, assuming something with Burning 4 dies (come on, it's likely) another PF pops out ready for the next turn of funsies.
  19. Bonus to this also is Sonnia can target the PF herself for plus flips (WP6 as per the trap) which on a moderate can get blasts and not kill it, then go for a severe killing it and putting Burning 2 on everyone within 2 of it. Assuming you've already put Burning on those targets beforehand with Sonnia's previous 2 attacks that's potentially 5 damage and burning 4 on multiple models. Now that isn't too shoddy.
  20. I'd recommend Dogs as they are cheap and good runners and seconded on the brutal effigy.
  21. Okay, I appreciate where the other poster was going with his comment, but if you want box sets that synergise with Sonnia i'd recommend Perdita box set as both Papa Loco (giving plusses to Damage Flips) and Frank (+2 DF/WP) are good for Sonnia. Frank is a staple in a lot of Guild Crews and with Perdita you have another master that works reasonably well with all of the models in her box. If you can stretch to another model perhaps the Malifaux Child as this gives you access to double flame walls which can be Uber annoying for the oppo.
  22. The extra plus 2 charge could go nicely with some Mounted Guard (12 inch charge) plus something nice and hitty in tow. Does mean using the MG though....
  23. I suppose turn 1 is about crafting your deck for turn 2/3 so stones shouldn't be an issue early on. I think with both it's be silly good. It's not as if Nellie needs any more help really. The judges 0 action which gives a push is also an attack action. He's not bad if the jury is around too.
  24. As a side thing then, knowing your own attacks build evidence (thus cards) i have a new thing to work out tonight....how many cards could I get in 1 turn via evidence.
