In their defense though, this was originally supposed to be escapisim for 8yr olds. The didn't originally expect the overwhelming adult response, and they really didn't expect the show to have people still wanting to watch it a half century later,..

Rose is good for a beginners intro to the doctor,.. and the weeping angels ( a bit later on) are damned scary monsters
