  1. Obvious one but I often focus once per turn abilities. Ie. Seamus' flintlock Reason being that I don't have the option of simply shooting twice.
  2. I don't think the internet is completely to blame. There are so many people who will say one thing to your face and another behind your back. Honesty and forthright communication are totally out of fashion at the minute. Confrontation is frowned upon so heavily in society that the internet is one of the few outlets where you can get away with frustration spilling over.
  3. I usually like to have some way of generating a corpse counter first turn when playing seamus. The reward of a cheap belle or doxy is usually going to be worth the investment. Can be done with Mortimer, a dog, or any henchman with corpse bloat. I sometimes put corpse bloat on seamus, although you can't drop and summon in the same turn using this trick. I base my decision on which to go for on the strat/scheme pool, and what else I will use the model for during the game.
  4. Oh I see what you saying. Sorry miss read that the first time The point of calculating the mean is that you know in the vast majority of cases the +flip is better than a +2 stat increase.
  5. While I was at it I worked out the mean value of a -ve flip as 5.18. These flips tend to come up mostly on damage flips and so I found the distribution quite interesting on this one. Black = 3.67% Weak = 57.61% Moderate = 30.18% Severe = 4.94% Red J = 3.60% Over 60% weak or BJ and over 91% of results are a moderate damage or less. Really shows the value of being able to get a straight flip and cheat these flips, also shows the value of a high weak damage stat.
  6. Yes you are. Unless you plan to cheat and have a card saved. Even then your burning a resource.
  7. Irrelevant since everyone knows the sample size in this example (0-14), so we know there is no outlying values. Mean is a perfectly acceptable way of measuring the difference, using the median is also OK however it is less accurate.
  8. Ok, I finally got around to working this out. Took me a while as I had forgotten a lot of the math involved that I learnt in school, also the jokers make the math significantly more complicated. The results was that is works out to a +2.33 stat increase. Straight flip mean = 7 + flip mean = 9.33 This assumes a full deck for both flips and thus does not take into account the effect of burnt cards or other game effects that would influence a flip. Therefore the answer to the implied question of the OP as to who is better at shooting, the raw math says that overall Ryle will hit more often.
  9. Actually what the op asked for was the exact value of a positive twist. This can be calculated for certain fairly easily. I don't have time now but I'll have a go at it in a few days. What the replies are talking about is the tactical value during a match. This is impossible to work out because of the near infinite number of sample sizes and other conditions that come into play.
  10. I see bete as a teleporter. Her strength lies in the fact she can appear where needed throughout a battle. She is best used where the combo of strats/schemes require you to divide your forces, or where you opponents positioning is likely to be unpredictable.
  11. Seamus, 2 belles and one doxy (either purchased or plan to summon). Make virtually every list. The rest depends on schemes/strats.
  12. There are some really nice looking minis for zombicide. Not sure of the scale though.
  13. The designers notes in the rule book state that the game is designed to be most balanced at 50ss so we have been sticking with that so far.
  14. Watch season 1 episode 7 of "the crazy one's". Robin Williams fails his WP test to resist Australia's terrifying (all).
  15. Nurse in an emergency since they will paralyze you too. A lost activation is better than being dead though. Or let things die and re summon since summoning is way easier. Seamus can teleport away and hide if need be. Also not as costly for your master to die as it used to be. Depends a lot on what your facing and which master your using.
  16. About 6 games in and I'm loving the new seamus so far. Very different to the old version though. Much more offense. I can actually kill stuff easily with shooting or melee. Also the new copy cat killer adds a massive offensive boost. Way more squishy. I only ever lost seamus once in ME1.5 but have lost him twice in version 2 already! The point someone made earlier about not taking on heavy hitters is very true and has been hard to adjust to for me. The mobility from the teleport is extreamly usefull too and adds another dimention to seamus. I like to place CCK in an isolated and vulnerable position, when my opponent moves in for the kill I teleport away leaving my opponent out of position. Belles are the same but the improvement of the minions across the whole faction provides for far more variety in crew selection. I love the new nurse!! My favorite minion in ME2. Such a versatile and effective support minion. So far I have been facing a lot of armor so I have been using mortimer to summon corpses and throw poison. Also been loving the flesh construct as a tank. One game I managed to heal him from 2hp back to full with a nurse, use accomplice to clear the paralyze and then card drain with seamus and copycat to empty my opponents hand for a reactivate! So much fun.
  17. Agreed bete is a lot better I pretty much always deploy her at the start that aura is quite useful. In regards to healing the flesh golem I like to do so with a nurse. Its quite funny to see an opponent plow through all those wounds only to see them healed by the nurse.
  18. Yeah they were 7ss in the beta with +1cb but were dropped to 6ss after feedback from the community.
  19. Good news actually makes the ability useful now. Would have preferred a rewrite but it was probably too late in the beta for that by the time the issue was raised.
  20. I agree with your 4 points they are clearly the main improvements in the game. I also noticed having more options for useful models and the strategy and scheme mechanics being a tonne better.
  21. I have always used the mortimer+seamus combo even in version 1. Its really handy as you say against non corpse dropping masters. It's a better combo now though. Just be aware that you will probably only get 1 free belle this way as you will probably find better uses for you high crows. Alternatively you could use dogs to dig up corpses in ME2 depending on match up and strategy this can be better.
  22. Funny how much expectation clouds your perspective. I had never heard of this expansion till reading this thread and now I'm super excited to check it out! The models look great. The rules for ME2 seem a bit lackluster but at the very least the models can be subbed in to replace some of the sculpts from the core range that I don't like. Will be interesting to check out the scenario may be a good option for intro games. I live in Australia any chance this set will be released here?
  23. +1 This is a very well articulated statement about probably the most important problem with 1.5. To expand on this point players who did all the reading up and research on each card were operating at a massive informational advantage. Naturally many people who had that advantage will not like seeing it swept away with an edition change, especially if they were at the high end of competitive play. This is similar to Starcraft where your "macro" play has to be at a competitive level before any "micro" play even matters. Worth noting there was a lot of resistance from SC1 players when SC2 was released as well. Its important to remember this game is played by people. A new player who picks up the game and gets spanked by an experienced player will in all likelihood not choose to improve their play. They will instead choose to play another game with a lower strategic entry level. Nobody wants to play a game where they lost because they couldn't figure out the rules. Who cares? Well in fact this is bad for everyone. The new player who loses doesn't have fun, the experienced player will struggle to recruit friends to the game reducing their enjoyment of the game, Wyrd sells less models which reduced their income and therefore ability spend money developing and improving the game. Its lose-lose-lose and that's why the game will be better for the V2 changes.
  24. That pandora is an absolute triumph! Inspirational
  25. I would estimate that in my gaming group there is more than 200 malifuax models sitting idle because too many players have lost faith in the 1.5 rules. M2E has addressed the vast majority of my groups concerns and frustrations.
