  1. Very nice smooth highlights, vivid colors and excellent bases.
  2. Nice work on aJustice so far. I think that the mini has so many details that even after reducing the size of the monsters, it will look impressive enough on a plain base. I used plenty of pins when I was putting together mine and a very strong, two - component glue. It seems to be stable enough and I will still be strengthening it with GS.
  3. Wonderful work, all of the above are top-notch paintjobs. Love the smoothness of your highlights and warm colors that you use. Keep them coming, it's always nice to see minis painted to such high standard!
  4. Lovely work all around. Looks like you didn't get rusty at all during your break from painting. I really like the way you paint clothes - very nice, smooth highlights. Some nice basework there too - Justice's is particularly impressive - very realistic effect. KoRn bases are interesting and very nicely done but I have to admit I prefer more 'traditional' approach Very nice start on Pandora too - the green coat, hair and skin tone look great even at the WIP stage. Keep up the great work and take care of your shoulder - probably needs some exercise after being in cast.
  5. Great, coherent look throughout the whole crew. I plan to paint this one as my next crew and seeing pics of nicely painted minis makes me want to order a set for myself now
  6. That's actually the first time I've seen the front of the beast that aPerdita uses. Nice work there!
  7. Great base and nice work on the red armor so far, keep it up!
  8. Very nice work all around. I bought Talisman 4th edition upgrade and the Reaper expansion and then sort of lost track of the game. Looks like there's plenty of cool new stuff there!
  9. I hope so too but it won't be easy
  10. That's a great idea for a themed crew and the painting's excellent too!
  11. I initially wanted to paint them following the color scheme from Wyrd's online store but in the end decided that black coats are reserved for DM. I chose a much brighter color for their dusters. I really like these minis, great and dynamic sculpts, both full of character. I also like the idea for this unit as they're basically Falconers who use... Hawks for hunting. The word "Austringer" comes from old French. Kudos to Wyrd Games for taking the effort to came up with original names for the minis in their game. I tried to imitate a very simplified hawk feather pattern instead of just drybrushing the whole surface of the wings. I made the rock on the base using a cork. The way the Austringer is placed on it made the mini bend backwards on uneven terrain so I bought a set of fishing weights and placed them in the front part f his base (both above (concealed by flock) and below it. No it stands still without any problems. And last but not least - here's a family pic of all the Guild minis I've painted so far. I plan to expand them soo with Perdita Crew, A Guardian, Pale Rider, Guild Hounds and possibly a few more. But before I do that I plan to start working on my Dreamer Crew. I will be posting updates in this thread. C&C are welcome!
  12. I thought I'd start a new thread where I'll be posting pics of all my works. I've already posted pics of my earlier works but here's a quick summary of the Malifaux minis I've painted. First off, my favorite minis from the range and the reason I became interested in Malifaux in the first place. I love the fluff and the models are amazing. Next, LJ in three versions (I have the avatar too but haven't painted it yet). Two Judges - I think I prefer the Nightmare version but the way his chain hangs around the mini makes it very hard for transport. I cut the chain off from the original version and use this one for gaming. The Executioner and Scales of Justice. I'll probably get the alternate version of the fiorst one as I really like the model despite its rather static pose. A more dynamic one would be a nice addition to my crew. And here's the lineup I used in my last game. I painted two Austringers as an addition to my slowly expanding force. More on that in the second post.
  13. Some excellent minis you got there. I like the color scheme you chose for Sonnia's crew. It's very colorful and vivid and it still keeps them looking coherent as a unit.
  14. Fantastic work all around. I like the way the fairly simple bases for Dreamer's crew make one focus more on the paintjob on the minis. And since it's top-notch, the effect is great!
  15. You're definitely putting a lot of work into this project and it's great to read the detailed descriptions of the process. Keep up the great work!
  16. Great work all around. The Neverborn bases are a masterpiece, they suit these models perfectly and give them an eerie feel.
  19. I'll be following this thread with keen interest since I'm in the same boat. Well, almost the same but I'd like to know answers to these questions too.
  20. That's a great looking crew, themed bases tie them all nicely as a crew and the painting is very nice too.
  22. http://massivevoodoo.blogspot.com/2010/05/photo-backgrounds.html forgot to attach - try these backgrounds, they're awesome
  23. My vote goes for Lucius, very clean paintjob with nice, smooth highlights, finished off with a great base.
  24. It's a very solid paintjob, considering the amount of time you put into it. Still, I'd probably try to work a bit more on the dark areas as they seem a bit too flat. Other than that it's really well painted, I particularly like the undead skin.
  25. The pics are bit blurry. I'd suggest using a solid background for taking pictures. The paintjob looks very solid but it's really hard to be more specific as the quality of the pic doesn't allow me to see the details. Looking forward to seeing the finished with bases and in better pics!
