  1. What is Simple Green? a paint stripper? Do you get it at a DIY store like Home Depot? -thanks!
  2. Necrotic Machine is up next...I wanted it to look ancient and to give it an arachnid feel, so I posed it crawling over a crate of "live" spare body parts (that are grasping at it).
  3. wow great stuff! I like Sue's flames also. The hooded rider's base is awesome. I see Im not the onlly one whos bottom half of The Drowned's anchor was missing, as opposed to the box art lol. Keep up the great work!
  4. Thanks for the comments. As for the lighting, I dont know what else to do, for the CG and Drowned I moved the light source a bit further away, hope thats better, but they dont have blood on them anyway. the CG head is a MaxMini evil heads conversion bit. I REALLY didn't like the original head, his short crooked mohawk had to go! lol
  5. Convict Gunslinger with head swap and Australian convict pants The Drowned. The coral reef was made from globs of mineral gel, the same stuff I used to base all my desert bases, available in art and craft supply stores like AC Moore.
  6. I love the verdigris effect, very realistic! I see im going to have to pick up those paint colors... Well done.
  7. Thanks! The hanging tree is actually from a HorrorClix set, mounted on a 50mm base and with hanging ropes made from twisted floral wire.
  8. Here is some of my stuff. some need touch ups from play Avatar Nicodem on his zed sled... coffin lid-shaped platform on some Kings of War zombies Necropunks Punk Zombies Killjoy Grave Spirit Bette Mortimer Hanging Tree
  9. Wow, yep thats the pattern. The one I saw didn't have any black in it. Now I remember what the 3 slash marks look like. Thanks for the quick response!
  10. And here, if you can find it, is the old D&D Chainmail Ice Paraelemental.
  11. Im painting up my convict gunslinger and want to do a prison pattern on his pants besides the standard black and white stripes. I seem to remember from my childhood a pattern that looked like this: tan color background with brown or black palmtrees, arrow pointing up, or three slash marks pointed upward, im not sure which. I think it might be an old British pattern. I may have saw it on Benny Hill or something. Anyone know what im talking about or can post a picture of it? If it was on Benny Hill it might have been a spoof of an actual uniform, which is ok. Thanks !

    Poor Ponto

I had problems as well, the big problem area was where the arms attached to the body. I drilled holes in the body the same diameter as the arms and sunk the arms a bit further into the body, shorter arms, but more sturdy.
  13. Newb question: If my opponent's model is paralyzed, and my model melee strikes or casts a spell at it, it still gets a defensive/resist flip right?
  14. Thanks everyone for the constructive comments! I will darken up his shirt some more, I didn't notice that when I was painting, but your right. I didn't go down to black on the table because I didn't want it to be confused with ordinary sword steel, was trying for shiny stainless steel, but maybe I should. His gloves do look chalky in real life for some reason, I was thinking coating them with satin varnish to make them look more "rubbery". Thanks again everyone.
  15. I have been trying some new techniques since I started Malifaux. Im happy with the blending on the Flesh Construct's skin. Im not so happy with the non-metallic metal attempt on the disecting table. Any hints on painting stainless steel?? I think I also have to redo the brain-sculpting attempt. The disecting table and cleaver are scratch-built Oh boy...Brains!
  16. Yep JMGraham is right, got the plague doctor and he is almost a head shorter than Molly. I might use him as-is as a proxy or cut off its head to use as a carrion effigy head. The evil head swap just wouldn't look right.
  17. I ordered the plague doctor by pathfinder miniatures combined with an evil head conversion bit (lower middle in the picture). going to GS a mask and make a knife. the order should get to me by Friday, then Ill let you know how it fits together and looks and will post a pic then painted.
  18. How are the synthetic/natural mix brushes?
  19. Super cool, and i love the train idea. Im picturing overhanging buildings supported by stilts. Great work!
  20. Im thinking of using a cactus tangle with 0/Slow/Paralyzed damage, using the Pegasus cactus models. I am also stealing the 3"x3" mine shaft idea that someone else posted here.
  21. Just some ideas.. Maybe some kind of black wash over the entire interior will help with the spookyness and tone down the colors some? I dont know if that will work for you. Every scary movie seems to have darkened interior rooms (se7ven, etc..) seems all the bad guys only have black paint lol. Rips and claw marks in the wallpaper. As you said, blood splatters. Gargoyles on outside. Nothing creepier than grandfather clocks....(except $$$$$$$$$$$$). Tentacle bursting up through the floorboards from the basement. Creepy dinner setting, heads on plates or something. Maybe work deconstructed flickering tea light LED lights into it somehow. Iron weather vanes. Rats in the walls or hiding in the corners. A couple boarded-up windows/broken glass. Maybe instead of a door, have a broken wall section. Awesome work, cant wait to see it done!
